  1. I was expecting it to say Big 12... Like it was an information leak.
  2. To be honest, I just want to beat every Florida team (along with Rutgers) - and have at least a 4 game winning season. This is a rebuilding year, and I felt as though the article laid it down straight for us. It really doesn't bother me, since our program is so young. We are an amazing team in the modern 'era' of football and I am confident that we are slowly quickly building a major legacy. BTW, according to Wikipedia: for a team that is only 18 seasons in, we have a pretty good Win-Loss percentage. Best in the AAC, despite the 3-9 2012 season. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCAA_Division_I_FBS_football_win-loss_records
  3. If we win a championship - we can start the 'Green Collar' campaign!
  4. Maybe, but I think his assessment was pretty accurate for this coming season.
  5. I still believe that the UM - USF (and then FSU - USF game) - are far more important for us to focus on. Both of those games will bring in more fans, revenue, and exposure. We need to beat UCiF (along with every other conference foe), and look ahead to bigger and better deals. Rutgers and Louisville didn't need to market themselves with a companion school to get into a better conference. We really don't need UCiF to get ahead.
  6. So, who's excited about the FAU - FIU rivalry! Same conference (G5), same markets, etc.... yawn... That is how the rest of the country sees the USF UCF games...
  7. Terrorists want TV coverage when it happens, ie finish lines. Not much coverage outside stadiums, the cameras are all inside. Plus thousands aren't sitting inches apart in the parking lot. And if that becomes a concern, expect more parking lot security with cars being screened, etc.. Not really; terrorist want credit more than anything. Most bombings are not on camera, but rather the aftermath of the event is what's important. Attacking inside or outside a stadium does not matter as much as the desired effect: high collateral. Special safety precautions are always best; but in this case, it actually hurts the consumer more than anything. So - look on the bright side - USF Bulls can rest assured that we have one of the safest stadiums in college football.
  8. Honestly don't care about UCF. We need to beat them, like we need to beat every team. I really want to win the Miami game this year, and the FSU games the following year. I just want us to win. Let UCF wallow in their desire for a rivalry, and I won't complain as long as we continue to play hard and win.
  9. P5... I am really not excited about the 2014 season in the AAC. I believe that there are more potential earnings from being in a P5 than an OCS.
  10. See Ohio State last year Ohio State still had a few top rated returning starters; and Meyer brought in top level talent. I mean, this was not an unbalanced team to begin with. But I see your point, and their success gives me some hope with CWT!
  11. UM doesn't have an OCS. They have been making the same arguments for years. They are a P5 school with a legacy and their attendance was terrible BEFORE and AFTER their championship years. We must face the facts... RJS or UCF/FAU -style stadium. (Side note: Watching the 'U' documentary; their program did a 180 in a very short time! A good coach can make the difference.)
  12. Great read! And I do enjoy his perspective!
  13. I like the practice uniforms! Clean..
  14. All this money - does Oregon's football program operate at a profit?
  15. Haha! Oh boy! We should come up with a moniker, such as SoFlo... or something. There is a Bulls Blog based on the domain SoFloBulls.com (which I am sure that you all are aware of). But it would be nice to have a shortened named that is unique; similar to Ole Miss or Uconn (which actually became official), Bama, 'Noles, etc... Anything...
  16. I enjoy college athletics - but I can not justify subsidizing programs through institutional support and state government funds in order to pay players. I understand that there are other routes and stipends that players benefit from; but the NCAA (as is) provides some sort of oversight. So far, according to Forbes, only 14 athletic programs are turning a profit WITHOUT being subsidized, (and the P5 consists of several programs). Just in the P5 alone - how would heavily subsidized programs compete in paying players against the 14 profit producing schools? Are students, donors, and taxpayers footing the bill to afford Wake Forest the same recruiting potential as Alabama? And what if this crosses over into Basketball? Title IX? If Football, or any other athletics program wants to pay players - I believe that they should be completely independent from the University. Someone mentioned a system similar to a minor league; which is fine - if it is partitioned from college athletics.
  17. I definitely believe that soccer can become a revenue producing sport; but I believe that it would have to do it on the professional level first.
  18. I have seen that statement before, but maybe, I don't understand how everyone feels about it. In Athletics, do we prefer to be called USF or South Florida. Many publications use 'South Florida' (along with USF gear in the bookstore); or is USF a better moniker?
  19. Can I buy into this bet, too?
  20. LOL, Usually those changes are corrected very quickly
  21. Does this mean that we will be getting an ESPN AAC blog? (in place of Stanford?) I guess it would be nice to have at least two AAC teams in the Final Four next season. Louisville and _______, maybe?
  22. Totally agreed - I was thinking about sending an email to the alumni association on the topic. Well, however UCiF did it...
  23. Wikipedia may not be the most accurate source. However, when trying to quickly find information about the university; Wikipedia seems to be very out of date (content, photos, sources, etc...). I personally took the liberty to update our academic rankings the moment US News & World Report released the 2012 figures. In conjunction, I fixed a few disconnected links. Another person went ahead and added new photos of the university to the main article. While it was a good effort, many of the photos have just been randomly placed. If you happen to come across Wikipedia pages about another school on the other side of I-4; you will notice that they went to great lengths to detail and document their school and achievements. So, I am just wondering: How does everyone on TBP feel about this? Waste of time, or an endeavor that we should correct? I do envy envy the big 3 (and even UCF) for their pride.
