  1. Hot seat right now? Shouldn't be. By year 3 though, that is a different story. It is pretty clear, or at least should be clear, that CWT will have to build this team from the ground up. Besides a couple of stars (like Shaw), there is really no talent on this team. The failures of Skip Holtz's recruiting started to really show themselves over the past 2 years. And this year it is even more evident of Holtz's recruiting failures. Even looking at LA Tech right now, they are 3 games in and the people are booing after they lost to Tulane...... Pretty good article on Holtz: http://www.voodoofive.com/2013/9/13/4725856/skip-holtz-usf-louisiana-tech-train-wreck-stealing-money CWT has his work cut out for him. I would basically expect a 0-12 record this year. Next season expect improvement. And it is all going to start on the recruiting level. According to Rivals right now (if you put any stock in that anyways), USF is ranked #40 with what looks like some pretty good talent coming in. Guys, this is rock bottom. The 2013 season will be the rock bottom season that Holtz's failures have brought upon the program. The program has to be rebuilt from scratch. While i was watching the UCF/FIU game a couple of friday's ago, the commentators mentioned something I thought actually related to the present USF situation. They mention how FIU brought in Coach Turner to completely build a program. Build it from the bottom. This is exactly what CWT is going to have to do as well. Like it or not, this is the situation.
  2. Just want to point this out. Now before some of you start bashing and that, just take note. When ODreary took over at UCF, they went 0-12. Since then, they won a couple conference championships, beat GA in a bowl game, and beat Penn State tonight in Happy Gilomre land. There is always light at the end of tunnel. Will it happen this year? F no. Next? Doubt it. Normally takes 3 years to build a program when that program does not have the resources of someone like an Alabama or Tennessee. Will it be frustrating? Absolutely. Personally for me I think that this has gotten to a point that is rather comical. However, I would expect progression in team development next year. CWT already has what appears to be some pretty good talent (16 so far) slated for next year. And until better talent can be brought in, pull out the old Tampa bay paper bags, it is going to be a rough ride.
  3. Nailed that last night... The Alfredo is fantastic! Red Lobster to the B12? The Oceanaire Seafood Room > Red Lobster. Expensive, but, worth every penny.
  4. I think this ploy (if real at all) by the Big 12 is actually pretty good. Here is the thing, the ploy itself would get FSU and UM to make the move, however, if the issue of the $50M ACC exit fee comes into play and FSU and UM stay. The fall back could at that point be a USF/UCF packaged deal. This way, no matter which teams they take, the Big 12 and Fox get the footprint in viewership in Florida. Personally I think it would be better for the Big 12 to take USF/UCF together over FSU/UM. My reasoning on this is due to the money factor. You know FSU and UM would be looking for some form of guarantee of the Big 12 helping out with that exit fee. While taking a USF/UCF combo would be better if it is worked in the deal that the conference helps with a portion of the conference exit fees. In this case: $7M would be > $50M. Basically, they could get them on the cheap and get the markets for Fox and viewership. But this is all hypothetical anyways.
  5. Hmmmm, This will be interesting to watch come the Spring time. Fisher does like to occasionally run an option and Trickett is not any form of an option QB. How did he play when he came in for EJ? Not bad actually. Did he make mistakes? Yes, but, show me a young QB that hasn't? My main concern for him, IF he was going to transfer, would be eligibility. I see it as this way, USF is rebuilding. Yes we hear the rhetoric that Coach T wants to win a NC this year. However, realistically looking at it, they need to rebuild. It is what it is. So I would actually prefer getting Mr White in there and developing him properly than throwing someone new into the system that may get 1-2 years only.
  6. Still scratching my head on that one. I would have figured TN or KY. They need QB help and need it immediately. UCLA? Huh?
  7. That is exactly what I did. It's working. However, the audio is horrible.
  8. I as well am more interested int he Defensive side of the ball. Defense wins championships. And this past year, the defensive was well......................whats the word I am looking for................Poor. Just leave it at that. Personally I would like to see Shannon in Tampa. My only concern there is, can we afford him? I do not think any of us can answer that specific question. My top 2 guys I would like to see there as DC are either Shannon or bring Wally home.
  9. I was never convinced on Daniels. Now do not get me wrong, he had ability. What his major downfall was, was his decision making. Daniels had the arm and legs to make him a great QB, however, I believe failed coaching is what held him back. Couple the failed coaching with a lack of running game and look what you got. Turnovers. Stupid turnovers at that. Now some will argue that BJ did not get a lot of help. This is true in part. Due to injuries, supporting depth was very limited. This is also a failure on coaching and recruiting. Will BJ make it to the pros? I do not think so. Too inconsistent and poor decision making. I think his best bet at this point would be to jump right in as a GA and learn how to coach under some good coaches and possibly proceed that route. Or better yet. Use the degree.
  10. Thank you everyone, this thread made me laugh this morning.
  11. I'm not going to bash you, but, couldn't the Big 12 get those TV markets by adding FSU? I would have to yes. However, there is an issue in regards to the $50M exit fee. Now we all know FSU would fight that legal battle. But is it worth fighting? Particularly in a national spotlight. I can't answer that, only they could. While USF/UCF combo may be more appealing for total viewership, less of a public legal fight over money, and adding 2 up coming programs with a high attendance number of students.
  12. Mike Bianchi, is that you? http://www.orlandose...,2059056.column Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, no. My vinegar content is not that high.
  13. Thinking about this here, before some of you go nuts and bash me, hear me out first. I think UCF and USF together should team up here and pitch the Big 12, SEC, ACC. And do it as a packaged deal. In particularly the Big 12. Now here is why I say this. As of the numbers I can find. In 2010, national TV market rankings are as follows. Tampa/St Pete/Clearwater: national ranking #14 with 1,805,810 viewers Orlando/Daytona/Melbourne: national ranking #19 with 1,455,620 viewers Totaled together at 3,261,430. That combined number would put them at #4 in national TV market rankings. That is alot of possible viewers of the B12 to turn down.
  14. I like the speed and agility, could use a little more bulk in the upper body. But, that will come with good conditioning coaches.
  15. Count me in. I am going to this game no matter what! Man up and go to the game! The team needs as many USF fans there as possible - no better feeling than holding your head high as the UCF fans spout off about why they lost AGAIN! UCF and ECU have by far the worst fans I have experienced. I have enjoyed meeting fans from other teams but not them. Generally speaking, UF fans are the worst. Right up there with Dolphin fans. Arrogant, self centered, obnoxious. They like to throw things and spit on people. Dolphin fans???? You don't go to a lot of pro games..They are amongst the mildest of the bunch. Now Philly or Dallas fans - there is the definition of obnoxious. Every Dolphin fan I have known has had a high vinegar content...........

  17. 5-6 wins at best. There is just too much new and not enough time to get everyone up speed. True there is spring and summer to get ready. But, bottom line here is we will have a very young team with a new coaching staff and new schemes. People need to be realistic. I think they will win some games, I think there will be some good intensity, however, this will be a young team. And being young, there will be a lot of mistakes made. Now do not get me wrong, would love to see a 10 win year in year 1. I just do not think that is a realistic outcome.
  18. In the words of Eric Cartman, "Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet"
  19. This is a good hire for WKU. Well, at least a short term good hire. I doubt Petrino will be there after 2-3 years.
  20. Will not matter now anyways. Looks liek they will have the HC for their Bowl Game. Being reported that Bobby Petrino is on campus at WKU and will be announced at 1600 today. No shiz?! Wow, that's a nice grab right there. He won't be able to coach in the bowl game though. Chad Bishop â€@MrChadBishop Western Kentucky will announce Bobby Petrino as its new head football coach at 4 p.m. today. Retweeted by Greg Auman

  22. My main concern is fan expectation. This is year 1. This will be a building year. Like it or not, that is a reality here. There will be a new system, new coaches, new recruits (hopefully some can be put back into the recommitted camp). Generally, fans want better. And they are not willing to take the grind it takes to get there. With all the new faces and schemes, I would expect to see improvement from the dismal 3-9 season (especially on D), however, I would not expect much. Maybe 5-6 wins. I hope I am wrong and they do better. but, trying to stay realistic here.
