  1. Just turned this on and.....................wow. That's all that can be said..................wow. Guess I will watch South Park then.
  2. Omg.. couldn't even finish it. I hope no one ever, ever! does that for our school no matter how much success we have.
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgbBP9Em00A For anyone that might have forgot this. And yes this actually happened on the floor. Ahhhh, congratz Porter for being a GATA?
  4. Nothing is going to happen yet. There are a lot of political, TV contract, playoff formula moves that need to be determined first. Just say an article on Yahoo Sports where the P5 are going to get their own voting block for NCAA legislation. Creating even more of a divide between the P5 and everyone else. Once this is finalized, I would suspect the next step is the playoff committee and playoff criteria. Until the prerequisites are drafted and approved upon, I would expect no moves, no talks, nothing. A sit and wait period. So for those who think the B12 are in talks with UCF and others, I highly doubt that right now. There is no reason for it. Especially on the financial side. After the playoff criteria is submitted and approved and everyone knows what is needed, this is where the networks come into play. For instance, Texas will not approve expansion into the B12 until TV revenues are increased and there is no drop in TV money from Fox. This has already occurred and the same thing will happen again. There has to be a financial gain. The only way anyone gets into the B12 without financial gain will be if the Playoff committee states that in order to get into the 4 team playoff a CCG must be completed. Now this leaves it up to the NCAA and the Playoff committee. Will they allow the B12 to have a CCG with only 10 teams, or, will they be forced to expand in order to get the CCG? Now some programs and B12 officials can be chatting. We as fans really do not know what is going on behind the scenes. Especially at very high $$$$$ levels. But, that is all that could be happening. There are too many other things that have to be addressed first.
  5. ***sigh*** No expansion or conference realignment will take place until criteria for the playoff system is decided on. And/or Fox increases the B12 money contract by $10-$15M minimum.
  6. For what it is worth, the normal talking heads regarding B12 expansion are silent. No chatter at all. Add in the fact that the criteria for The playoff system has not been put forth and that Fox has not pushed crap tons of $$$$$ at the B12 for the TV markets, B12 expansion and UCF is non existent at this point. Now, if the playoff committee put forward the criteria and that criteria forced the B12 to expand, then be worried.
  7. really? that would be crazy and even though he says he mostly doesn't think of USF even if offered(and thats a big IF) i doubt he takes it. more than likely would wait for NFL DC or HC job in college. Yep, Chris Knee was on XM this morning with Bill King talking about Pruitt's departure (which was inaccurate on reasoning) and possible replacements. Behind promotions from within regarding Sal Sunseri or Charles Kelly, outside prospect name was Leavitt.
  8. Heard Leavitt's name pop up as a possible replacement to Jeremy Pruitt at FSU.
  9. I know several UCF alums and a couple of students. They will not be going due to the cost. If UCF was able to get to the Orange or even the Sugar, these individuals would have gone. However, due to the costs of travel and lodging, they will be staying home. I know as soon as it was announced that UCF was going to Tempe I was telling family here that they just got screwed financially. Now some here will laugh at them and so forth, but, no team (program) should be screwed over financially by a flawed system like the BCS for completing a very good accomplishment from their season. Ohio State should have gone to Tempe and UCF to the Orange. But this shows exactly how far down the BCS caliber listing the Fiesta truly is.
  10. I will agree with that as well. However, I do not think any decisions will be made until the criteria of playoff format is determined. How much will a CCG play into the mix..... How much voice and decision making will be done in Austin TX...... If the Playoff Committee says that NO CCG is required, I would suspect the B12 does nothing. If the Playoff Committee states a CCG is required, I would suspect the B12 expands. But to where? As much as I think the USF/UCF combo and marketed rival game and TV market size would be the best choice. I suspect it will be BYU and Cincy. Either way though. The final determination on it all will depend what the lawyers and lobbyist in Austin. Good question to ask when the Playoff Committe starts up. How much money will the Committee and Condi Rice receive from donors at the University of Texas?
  11. Thank you. USN 1995-2000 Air Traffic Control USS John F Kennedy CV-67 & NAS Key West
  12. I have said this a couple of times and I will say it again. Some may agree and others will not. However, like it or not, USF and UCF need each other here. Neither program can do it alone. And with any possible pending expansion, they will have to market themselves together. What these big $$$$ donors need to do here is bust down Genshaft's and Hitt's door to their office and demand action. Bring in the B12 officials with FOX officials (those that would make the decisions, and in particular, those in Austin), fly them into Tampa on a private jet, give them the tour of facilities and what is planned in the near future (fingers crossed for OCS), dinner at Berns. The next day rent a limo, travel to Orlando. Same routine at UCF with dinner at somewhere like the Oceanaire Seafood Room, then out on a private jet from Orlando Executive. With the tours and dinners, sell each other together. As a package and use the rankings in national TV markets combined. If done properly, a P5 invite to the B12 I believe would happen for both as a combo. However, Genshaft and Hitt need to put aside their BS disagreements they may have between one an other and the fans will need to suck it up until the deal is done. Together the 2 programs need to sell each other. And it has to be shown that there is money to be made from all parties: B12, FOX, and the 10 established B12 Programs. The rumors of expansion are just that rumors. I believe the B12 will have to do something though. I highly doubt the playoff committee will allow the B12 to be able to get into the play off without a CCG. And in order to have the CCG they will need to go to 12 or 14 teams. Not the present 10. The final determination of the playoff criteria will dictate what the B12 actually does. But for now, USF and UCF donors and alumni need to pushing Genshaft and Hitt to jointly go out there and get this done. They should not allow BYU and Cincy to get ahead of them. This is game of musical chairs and they need to push everyone else out of the way to ensure they get a chair.
  13. My concern for pulling the redshirt was for injury purposes. Let's see, down Bobby due to injury, Bench probably should not have been on the field at all until he was ready to go from injury, and that leaves Floyd and White. Oh god, not Matt. Anyone but Matt. IMO, putting White in was the way to go. Let's face it here. The team was 2-4 and down to Louisville (going be 2-5), also down 2 QB's. At some point, one has to start looking at this as a rebuilding time. Not just building for recruitment, but, also team chemistry. If Mike White is going to be the guy. Put him in with Tice and these other Freshmen. Build that chemistry together. The timing, the anticipation, the familiarity of the team with one another. At 2-5 this is the best option that one has. Going back to the concern. The O Line is horrendous when pass blocking. Saw several times when 4 down lineman were just blowing past the O Line. So the concern here would be that a young Mike White gets beat up and hurt to where we lose him for the rest of the year. Which will leave us with a gimpy Bench (due to injury) or Floyd. Again, anyone but Matt. Go wildcat for the remainder of the year with a WR before you go with Floyd. It's a gamble. Will the gamble pay off? I think for next season and building chemistry with his teammates, yes, this year though, I would be concerned about the protection from the O Line. One last thing though. Now that the redshirt was pulled, there is no going back. Mike White should start and get full playing time the rest of the year. If CWT is building that chemistry and exp for next season, CWT cannot pull him out. That will not benefit him, nor the team going forward. And hey, you never know, White may in turn be that diamond in the rough everyone has been waiting for. Only time will tell.
  14. Texas won't be down forever... Not with their resources. Once they get a decent AD and Mack is gone, I would put 2 years after those changes and TX will be back. Presently though, they are not really TX. Yeah they beat up OK this past weekend, but, should have lost to Iowa State.
  15. This maybe true. However, it is all about popularity, advertising, and money. And when comparing recent popularity between the two without fan bias, popularity sways into the field of UCF due to national TV games and the outcomes of those games. And media will reflect this. One just has to take a step back and see it. Like it or not, it is what it is. As I stated prior though. A program has to win to get the spotlight put on them. Overall potential for both schools is up there. Growth potential, athletic potential, academic potential. People tend to forget in 2007 the spotlight was put onto USF (prior to their conference collapse). Even Mark May on ESPN was making a case how USF should have been #1 and not Ohio State due to strength of schedule and quality wins. Win and the spotlight returns and media coverage returns. (examples: Boise State BCS buster, Hawaii with Colt Brennen, 2007 USF, Utah's undefeated season with Meyer as HC, etc...)
  16. For the majority of the conferences I would say I would agree. However, the B12 is different. At best they have only 1 team nationally worth a crap and that is OK. Their other big power is Texas and they are mediocre at best (exception to this past week's win). For the B12 it is about big name recognition, large national exposures, and wins (in particular for the pending playoff system and trying to flood the playoff system with their own teams). Also add in how much control Texas has over the B12 and how much control Texas would lose. (see the FSU, UM, CU debacle from the ACC). Presently, the only teams that have this are BYU and Cincy. Let's face reality here. But with BYU, they have issues of playing other sports outside of football on Sunday when the B12 would require it and neither party is bending. It's about brands and marketing of brands. Advertising and $$$$$. And with the options available to the B12 in regards of programs that could be brought in. Both USF and UCF are kinda screwed. I would say UCF has the edge at this point due to beating Penn State on national TV, almost beating USC on nationwide network TV, and playing #8 Louisville this Friday night on ESPN (again more national TV). This is why their popularity is growing. So winning means more than some think. Especially when it involves advertising, marketing, and $$$$$$$$. At present, the only thing any of the programs on the bubble can do is win. Nothing is going to happen until the playoff criteria is decided anyways.
  17. ***This is how I see it. Also before some of you start accusing, I am fan of Florida College Football (excluding the Gators and Hurricanes)*** Nothing is going to happen until the Playoff Committee is selected and they determine the requirements of the conferences in relation to acceptance into a Playoff system of 4 teams. The decision of the B12 to shelve expansion at this time is due to money. Present contracts are in the range of $20-$25M/yr which is divided out evenly between the 10 teams ($2-$2.5M/ea). Unless FOX comes in an adds at least $10M to the TV contract, there is no monetary reasons for the B12 to expand. Always follow the money. So it will come down to the playoff criteria that the committee puts together. If the committee comes back and says that a requirement of a CCG must take place for any consideration into the playoff system (which really should be 8 teams and not 4, or, 6 teams with #1 and # 2 a bye for the first week) then expect the B12 to expand. If the committee does not make this requirement, then the B12 will never expand and programs like USF, UCF, Cincy, BYU, Boise State, Houston, UConn will get the perennial shaft. Division 4 here they come. If things fall accordingly and the B12 does expand, USF and UCF could only hope for a combo move. This is where the administrations and Athletic Departments (not fan resentments) must pitch together and pry open every door they can. They need to market the "War on I-4", the combined TV market, and the close proximity with the 2 schools. Fans on either side may not like it, but, in the big scheme of things (and I have said this before) this is what they will have to do. If the administrations and Athletic departments cannot do that, it's game over for the Bulls. They will get leap frogged by UCF. And yes this would royally suck. But why would the B12 possibly take UCF over USF? On campus stadium and wins over the past couple of years (thank Skip Holtz for that). To me, that would be the only logical conclusion. Another aspect to look at here is Texas. I question how much influence will UT have over this committee. My gut tells me that UT will influence any possible decisions made by the committee. So watch what happens and comes out of Austin. Like it or not, they will be the ones that call the shots through the money that UT makes and spends lobbying. Until the committee makes this decision on criteria. All of these teams that are on the bubble regarding possible B12 expansion must WIN. UCF must knock off #8 Louisville Friday. USF must punch Louisville in the mouth like they did to #17 Aub and #5 WV. These type of things have to happen. And the 2 Athletic programs must stop any and all BS and market each other together. If not, both are screwed.
  18. In regards to White, since I did not finish my thought, I am on the fence regarding his red shirt. Part of me says pull it. What else do you have to lose? It is obvious that Eveld and Floyd cannot get the job done (look at Offensive statistics nationally). Their play is horrendous and might as well get the kid some exp for next year. However, with the offensive line and receivers as bad as they are. I would not want to risk any possible injury to the kid that would result in a replacement by Eveld/Floyd anyways. Plus putting a true freshman who may not be up to speed on a complex offense with very little protection to be able to develop the kid in the correct fashion and losing a year of eligibility. CWT has a difficult decision and I can see the dilemma here and do not envy him one bit. This would be a tough call for anyone trying to weigh the options. Now I have been on the bandwagon regarding pulling White's red shirt for game time exp. But, after what I saw from the offensive line and receivers this past weekend. Yeah, ahhhhh.........Keep the red shirt on. If he is supposed to be the future of this team, make sure the team is ready for him before throwing him to the wolves (in this case the #11 nationally ranked Cards).
  19. There are more issues on Offense than just the horrible play of Eveld. The offensive line cannot pass block. Add in the fact that receivers like Davis give up on routes and drop passes in their hands. Yeah, that results in a horrendous offense overall. Not defending Eveld here, but, the line is not giving him time and the receivers are not helping him out. One thing I did see that I liked from Eveld, and it was the only thing. Outside of the pocket with no receivers open, throw ball away out of bounds. He did this a couple of times. Better to get rid of it than causing a sack or a possible pick trying to make something happen. On the running game, I was happy to see Tice get in there. Out of the recruits from this past off season, that was one I wanted to see how he would do. Had some nice runs as well. Good solid back up for Shaw and has a good possible future ahead of him.
  20. I would agree. If Louisville is going to lose one of those as I suspect they would. It would be against UCF. Of course this depends on what UCF team shows up. The team against SC they will knock off Louisville before they get to Tampa. If the UCF's version of the Memphis team (which they were awful in) shows up, Louisville should be undefeated when they get to Tampa. After seeing how Rutgers played this past weekend. Louisville's offense should be able to move the ball rather well and with some ease.
