  1. Even doing that, unless you knew the Ident the aircraft was going to use and any possible stops on the VFR flight. Trying to find it would be like trying to find a needle in a hay stack. Sometimes private flights use their tail number, others can have a specific identification. Generally it can be the tail number, but, does not have to be. As a controller who used to be stationed at NAS Key West, the stations King Air would sometimes go to NAS Jax. The identifier for the VFR flight plan was never the tail number of the King Air that was being flown.
  2. Maybe, maybe not. There has not been much chatter today. Could mean that there is no deal, or possibly, there is a deal. They are just crossing T's and dotting I's. Another possibility is they are waiting until the end of the WKU bowl game. As to not provide a distraction to the players that are actually playing in a bowl game *cough* *cough* Yeah, that was a little jab.
  3. Pretty much............................no. Dave Hart is the issue.
  4. Word on the street from what I can see is either Fedora or Gundy. Let me update this. Gundy will stay at OK State. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/8714519/mike-gundy-remain-coach-oklahoma-state-cowboys-sources-say
  5. More than likely, I doubt that would happen for at least 2-3 years though. Until then, we could get a good foundation built. And let's say for argument purposes he took us to a 9 or 10 win season. If he does leave, it would not cost us anything more. We would not have to buy out the contract. And then it would be easier to find a good coach with a better record and better prestige.
  6. I was not sold on Willie T to be honest. After looking at him a little closer last night and this morning. I like the possibility. Of course with reservations. I think no matter who they choose, there should be reservations. Would be interested to hear how the interview went though from last night.
  7. Word on the street from what I can see is either Fedora or Gundy.
  8. Every year I buy my wife (Alumni) stuff from the book store online. Trying to get USF items here in Orlando is like trying to pull out teeth with tweezers.
  9. So you're a USF and an FSU fan? Pretty much. In this order. 1. FSU (followed and been a fan of FSU since I started watching college football in 85) 2. USF (married an Alumni and want them to be the #4 big boy program in the state) 3. NAVY (USN 1995-2001, air traffic controller USS JFK and NAS Key West) 4. UCF (grew up and live about 15 min from campus. Office is about a 10-15 min drive up 434.) Now when FSU and USF play, I am actually not favoring anyone, just want to see a good game. When the Bulls pulled off the upset in Tally, I was actually happy for them. Growing up back in the 80's, especially in FL, you had three choices and that was it. That is the reality here. Choices were FSU, UF and Miami. So I will always have the loyalities of FSU, and be highly supportive of the Bulls to be the big 4. There used to be a point in time where if a team wanted to win a national title, they had to come through FL. And it should be again.
  10. If Mr Smart goes anywhere, I think it will be Aub or Ark. He will not leave the SEC. Who would?
  11. Top five 1. Quinn 2. Petrino 3. Gruden (Jay, not John) 4. Davis 5. Wally Burnham
  12. All of these should not grace the sidelines in RayJay. With Nutt, I am pretty much HEH. Cristobal, yeah 3-9 at FIU in the Sun Belt conference? Ahhhhhhhhhhhh no. No upgrade here. The problem with Coley is that the guy is a figure head only. As OC at FSU, the guy sits there during game time and does not call plays. That is all Jimbo Fisher. I would expect Coley to go to KY with Stoops. And finally Bowden. Which one? Tommy? No way. Terry? Terry is actually not bad. Had a bad year this past year in Akron, but, it was year 1. So have to take that with a grain of salt, look what he did in his previous HC positions. The problem with Terry is that you get Jeff. And Jeff Bowden as us FSU fans have learned, was the worst OC ever there. And he was run out of town due to it as well.
  13. I could actually see Petrino in Tampa. Here is why. Everyone needs to face reality here. USF is a mid major at best right now. With a crumbling Big East conference and a dismal conference record, USF is not one of the big boys. They will need a coach that can at least bring them to the table and be one of those BCS buster kind of programs. And they will need a name in order to do that. Will Petrino get back into the SEC? I highly doubt it. Petrino will need more of a liberal program and that is not in the social conservative SEC. Like it or not, USF is not in that social conservative mind set like the Bama's, GA's, TN's, UF's. That's a reality here. Plus no program in the SEC will put up with his antics. Petrino will need to re-establish himself. Change that Scarlet letter on his chest. And only a mid major BCS buster can help him do that. This is why I could see Petrino on the sidelines in RayJay. Would it be a good choice? Well, nobody knows. Who knows if Quinn or Taggert would be a good choice. Only time could tell.
  14. I think Quinn could be the best option. Get the young up and comer kind of a guy who wants to make a name for himself. Someone with ties to Florida, and defense minded. One thing about football in the South and in Florida. Looking over all of the power house teams from college to the NFL. One constant always stands out. A complete shut down defense.
  15. As I was explaining to my wife last night (who is an USF Alumni), I would not expect too much from the team next year. Maybe a 6 or 7 loss season. Year 2 with the new head coach maybe 4 to 5. Keep expectations low for at least 2 years. Come year 3 though, depending on who they bring in, expect high quality and be in the talk of a conference championship. Of course that conference will be CUSA 2.0, but, I digress. As a FSU guy personally (with USF as #2), I still expected them to have a 2-3 loss season this year. Not due to the coaching staff, but, the caliber of opponents. Perfect example of that was the FSU and UF game. Caliber of opponents preps the team for later in the year. Even with a new head coach and new coaching staff, I think this will be USF's future problem as well. The caliber of opposition will not be at a high level.
  16. I can tell you from living and working 15 minutes from Bright house Stadium and who has a brother who is a junior at UCF. That is very inaccurate. UCF does not pull that type of crowd. The only way they can pull that is if it is a Thursday night game on ESPN and they have given out free tickets to give the perception of a full crowd. There have even been articles in the Orlando Sentinel blasting the UCF fans for not showing up.
  17. Afternoon everyone, As much as I would love to baby boy Holtz gone. I have a question that sparks reservation about letting him go. And that would be, who would they be able to get and who can they "afford" to get after buying out the contract? And this will have be looked at closely. In the years I have watched College Football in this state, I have never seen the amount of available coaching jobs going into an off season as this season has produced. Looking it over, there are vacancies at: 1. Auburn 2. Tennessee 3. Kentucky (filled with Stoops) 4. Boston College 5. NC State 6. Arkansas 7. Colorado 8. Cal 9. Smaller schools not worth talking about. There is also talk of a remote possibility of Mr Kelly leaving Oregon to go to the pros, so that would open another spot. Also, Paul Johnson at GT and Baby Kif at USC are in hot water to where their futures are unknown. Those are alot of positions and looking over the big name coaches out there that could possibly bring in recruits due to their name alone, it is looking like there are more vacancies than actual people to fill those. Which is surprising in this day and age in the US, but, I digress. Personally, I see Holtz there next year. Reasoning is not due to the record which has been dreadful, but, due to financial reasons and available named coaches.
