  1. I'm not going to blast you but in 5 years there might be 5 PEOPLE in the stadium. We need Ws. This!! If we give him 5 years and his system doesn't work it will be the end of the program. 5 years of handing off to a running back, low scores and few wins will make it look like the program was nuked from orbit. You'd be betting the house on him if you give him 5 years. There has to be significant signs of improvement next year.
  2. Good point. It really feels like a vacation on the bye week. That says a lot about the state of the program.
  3. 2 weeks of rehashing the UH loss, Bench White or Flowers and when to fire Taggart. Stock up on the popcorn.
  4. UCF fans outnumber us and somehow find Doug Woolard's car and slash his tires again.
  5. We will most likely go 4-8 with an outside chance of 5-7 and virtually no chance of 6-6 against competition markedly weaker than last year.
  6. I think this is really good advice. I'd like to see him be frank and honest with the community and give them the measurables he expects and the programs will be held too. For instance for football the most visible problem child: 2014 - Expect little improvement but with the level of competition we are looking for 4 wins. 2015 - Expect visible improvement from the whole team and a 6-6 season. 2016 and beyond: A solidly good team that competes for conference title and greater.
  7. I'm never going to say Bench is great. I agree with much of this entire thread particularly that the real problem is a new coach is needed. If Taggart insists on a system these players can't handle it doesn't matter too much. This is an offense with a lot of problems, my opinion is that Bench is best able to deal with broken plays and a poor O-Line. I though like yesterday you're going to play call 90% hand offs to a RB then put in anyone. I put the 3 points scored solely on the extremely conservative game plan. Also on the terrible call to kick a long field goal against a strong swirling wind. There are no good choices. We're merely discussing which poison will hurt least.
  8. at Bench's best he is not better than White at his best. It's not even close. please don't tell me that if it weren't for the 3 drops and 2 first downs than bench somehow leads this offense to more than 3 points these QBs aren't capable of running any D-1 offense. we would look terrible running the spread. I agree, but White at his best is not something you see too often. I think Bench is solidly mediocre and I trust him more than White. I think Bench has a better attitude and psyche. I'd stick with Bench and give him the same amount of time Taggart gave White.
  9. If we ran over teams the way Farrow ran over us yesterday, and other teams have done to us it would be moderately entertaining. However we don't and it isn't.
  10. He'd look like he was making progress and the heat would be dampened significantly. Never going to happen. I still think we beat SMU, the other two are probably ugly.
  11. Judging by the turnout in stadium and virtually for the Houston game, I think even the hardcore fans have stopped watching. Eventually your common sense prevails. Chat room was empty for a while. Never did have many in there. Not much action until post-game on the in game thread. The people who care a lot have stopped caring. That is dire.
  12. 1 personal foul is on the player. A pattern of personal fouls on the team starts to point to a coaching/culture/discipline issue.
  13. I think such a thing would destroy the entire space-time continuum as both sides tried as hard as they could to lose.
  14. Said this last year. I'd rather lose 49 - 42 than what we have to watch now. Run Mack left, run Mack left, run Mack up the middle, punt. Woo Hoo. As far as Harlan and what he can do. I expect he takes a job somewhere else before we have a winning football team. Even if it is at a community college. It will be better than being here. There's not a person in the country who doesn't know that 1st down is Mack running the ball. Taggart has half of his system down, the "They know what's coming part" the 2nd part "and they can't stop it" seems beyond his grasp.
  15. It should be impossible to lose to SMU, but then again the WCU game was severely in doubt at halftime. It shouldn't be a loseable game but it is. I do think we win it though.
  16. A stunning visual was the shot of the band in the corner, surrounded by empty sections.
  17. Given there is some talent it really might be better to throw them out and let them play sand lot ball. I'm sure it would be more exciting then what we saw today. I think that's a given.

  19. Jon Gruden. Raheem Morris. The way things are going add Lovie Smith.
  20. Anyways looks like the Lightning game is more entertaining if you're taking that in.
