    With proper coaching we have no idea what BJ could have been. All we know is that our coaching staff never helped him get there.

    Leavitt - JOB 1 - Win the Conference - FAIL. Holtz - JOB 1 - Win the Conference - FAIL. Taggart-JOB 1 -Win the Conference - ??? **** Of course now it's also a completely different conference. 3 years ago, Tulane, Temple, E carolina, etc, would have been considered tune up games. Now, they are conference foes, meaning they can beat us! Quite a few steps backwards has this once skyrocketing program taken. Sometimes you have to take a few steps back before you can take a leap forward. Let's not forget that Leavitt couldn't win a championship at the lower levels either, so I'm not sure what world you live in where those teams would ever be tune up games.

    We aren't losing to UCF next year. What could you possibly base that on? I mean reality wise. Surely not their QB who is going to be a Jr and had a 140+ QB rating this season. Who is USF's starting QB? And all his WRs return. They lost their 1000 yard rusher, but still have #2 who ran for over 500. One of the two DTs who participated in the 6 TFL against Ball St is only a freshman. USF and UCF are different teams this time around. And you seem pretty convinced we WILL lose. Based on what? You know how much a team can change in one year. Sit back and enjoy the game.

    A crock of BS. Injuries weren't the issue with his team, but when BJ got hurt Holtz lost the only thing capable of bailing him and his crappy staff out every game. Good riddance coach, no more excuses here.

    Problem at USF is this. I can choose to stay on campus in a single room with a shared bathroom for $600 a month, or I can go 5 minutes off campus and get a great apartment with private bathrooms that don't run out of hot water by 5am for $500 a month. Kids who live off campus shouldn't be labeled "commuters", they should be labeled "smart". On campus housing needs an overhaul and less price gouging.

    Now they are just hating on USF, saying he couldn't succeed because we are a "nobody school" in Florida. Yeah, they can have him.

    USF is growing at an astounding rate. Sorry Op, but we can't just magically snap our fingers and be there. We are a young school with an even younger athletics program. Look at USF just ten years ago compared to now, there is no comparison. Even in just my four years I was amazed at the upward trend we were on and if not for the complete lack of state funding over the past decade we might already be there. Patience is a virtue, and is necessary when building a culture from scratch like USF. We will get there, without a doubt.

    I can assure you they are not. Just because they aren't calling you every night with updates doesn't mean they haven't been trying. The answer is NOBODY WANTS US.

    This is a fun thread, so I hate to burst everyone's bubble.... But since the Mayans didn't have a "leap year" the world ended 7 months ago.     Best thing so far- He will run a system dependent on the players he has. Already leaps and bounds better than Holtz.

    Taggart just did that. He got his guys to their first bowl game and said sorry I'm not going to help you prepare for it. I know this is common but I've always thought it is ********. I think coaches should be forced to stay until the last is over! No. Short of winning a couple BE Championships, USF is Taggart's ceiling. He will need to achieve greatness here before someone hires him away. And by that time hopefully we are back on track. Petrino would only need one decent season before sneaking away to a bigger fish. He doesn't care about the program, he only cares about himself. He's an *******. You want that guy leading our program? Hell no.

    If we hired Petrino he would be GONE after the first winning season. Sorry whiners, but I really don't feel like doing this again in two years. WT was the right choice.

    Assistants. It was the contributing factor to Holtz's demise. We need guys who can do their jobs and are capable of on the fly adjustments.
