  1. For the comments about the “complainers” and “you can’t please everyone”, this is just a discussion. It wouldn’t be much of a conversation if everybody simply agreed “this is great!”. While I for one am a little disappointed with the initial design concept, I am so excited that it is happening and we will have our own stadium. With that said, there is nothing wrong with other opinions especially when it come to design, it’s all subjective, that’s what can make it fun. I don’t think I’ve read any comments of “this is crap, let’s stay in Ray Jay”.
  2. Funny thing, is I just looked up a bunch of pictures of UNT’s stadium and your spot on, looks almost cut and paste with adding the other end with stands. This upsets me, haha.
  3. Haha, you’re right, so UNT is our standard now? Jkjk………
  4. Agreed, it looks a little cheap compared to SDSU or CSU’s. I understand materials are more expensive now, but there are ways around the cheap look; but, I don’t hate it, I only kind of like it objectively”. Bottom line, is I love it because it’s ours and it’s not red with a pirate ship.
  5. Yeah, it also has a BYU Stadium vibe too. I’m not the biggest fan, but overall, it’s good.
  6. This changes nothing for me. Outside of USF, CFB has been dead to me. This is why I have stated that all I want for USF is to be in a conference with like minded universities and a quality conference. Even with the ACC going down, we belong with schools like Wake Forest, Boston College, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Duke, NOT FAU, UNT, Charlotte, etc. the dream of Natty’s and playoff appearances were just a pipe dream, they will find a way to limit the exposure of non mainstream schools (ie the two party system does the same with the other political parties). This is more of a shock revelation to the fans of the ACC, PAC 12 and B12. You either include EVERYONE (think CBB), or it’s just a popularity contest and you get what they want to give you.
  7. A lot to chew on with this conversation, haha. I’ll give it a go. from a real world perspective, I completely agree with you. A full college education is more than just a football team or just a degree. Going to a major university is about living in your own, learning about bills, balancing an education, being exposed to different cultures and people and their backgrounds, balancing social events, extracurricular activities and finding how you fit in and what you want to be. From a sports fan perspective, it’s all about competition and being the best of the best. In that light, what USF has done over the years is unacceptable; especially when you see schools that have both the education and sports scene nailed down (Mich, OSU, Stanford, Tx, UF, etc). Now, how those two are married is a grey area. During the mid 00’s, USF was getting incredible publicity and exposure that elevated it image in the general public’s eye (whether I was in Michigan or Ohio, people would comment on my USF gear, not anymore, unless they mistake us for UCF now). This exposure creates buzz and interest in the school which can have a positive impact on academics and student interest. If you a student that doesn’t care about sports, it doesn’t matter, but the majority of the USA, people at least have a casual interest in sports and would like to go to a school that they can cheer for. Now I am in the middle, I am proud of our academics/AAU, but am ashamed that we were in the BE now relegated to playing lesser opponents. I live in Michigan so my only “active” connection to USF is sports. Nobody up here cares about talking school academic rankings or what our average GPA or patents are. The real world is different for everybody. My employer doesn’t care about USF’s AAU membership, they just cares that our engineering program is ABET accredited. The difference between my degree from USF and Grand Valley State University (real school) is nothing. So I don’t think it’s fair to dismiss one or the other without considering different perspectives. Sports are a great way to feel connected and proud of your school that can create conversations with people who did go there, and it’s better to talk about a winner beating big name schools than a nobody, haha.
  8. I’m not so concerned with the $30k as much as it’s the streaming numbers. When looking a media deals, the correlated value is all about how many people are watching. If we are one of or the most watch G5 team, the appeal to an expanding conference is much higher, couple that with winning and it would elevate us above all other G5’s. That is the main goal.
  9. Students at the helm, USF an American Athletic Conference leader in streaming productions for ESPN+ WWW.USF.EDU USF is on its way to becoming No. 1 for streaming athletics events on... When talking about conference expansion, I think this is very good news for us. Knowing that we have students working of this is great from building a fan base out of students and media exposure. This makes us more attractive and valuable than those that don’t have the streaming numbers (this is where media to heading anyways).
  10. My exact thoughts and feelings too!! It was a greatly successful season overall with a lot to grow from. This is a really solid starting point and now I think CAG can help these guys take the next big step. Defense was atrocious and our OL needs major help. If that happens, I don’t see why we can’t win it all next year.
  11. I like BB and think he will be a very good QB for us as he continues to develop. No P5 school is going to pay BB anything right now. He is not Colt Brennan; if he has a better year next year and leads us to a conference championship, then he could be offered a considerable amount (not a one year wonder). USF is a feeder school, but most likely for coaches, players would be fewer and further in between. No, he would NOT win a Natty year one at Alabama; he’s no Tim Tebow.
  12. I am really surprised and happy with this win. Our basketball program hasn’t beaten any team like this that I can remember. I like the pace and play, very entertaining!! That said, wow, these jerseys look like a middle school team design. I like the “South Florida Bulls” under the center court logo and that we removed the gold from inside the 3 point line, but this is not our shade of green that’s on the court. Other than that, I LOVE the start of the season!!
  13. We are the most popular AAC team, haha.
  14. Nice, where was the defense? Sorry, it’s just embarrassing how many points we give up.
  15. Great job @E.T.!! I’m proud of you, keep it up!!!
  16. I really like the addition of Army, should have happened before FAU and Air For e should have happened before UNT, then the AAC would look considerably better.
  17. It is, I feel like it is really underrated. I also played in high school and loved it. If we ever get a men’s team I highly recommend everyone checking it out. Nothing against the girls game, it is a fine sport, I just prefer the more physical game of the men’s rules.
  18. Agreed, and the main green portion I wouldn’t paint and let the natural grass color do the work, ie Florida’s gator head on their field. I would do a similar thing with our end zone, our traditional Bulls with the middle unpainted, just have the Bulls outlined in white and gold.
  19. The main lines you would see are the circle for the goalie crease and the outside lines by the numbers for the box, the other lines in the picture for for track and field (I think shot put). Yes, Lacrosse is in the spring so no issue for football.
  20. For a throw back, spot in, I love it. Overall, love the jersey combos this year. Agreed, our main helmet should always be the gold traditional one; not a fan of robo bull, but it’s apart of our history and we need to bring it back once in a while for a solid throw back uni.
  21. Yup, nobody else out there that adds value; no use spreading the AAC money even more thin. After the last round of expansion, AAC leadership cannot be trusted and there should be no more expansion (I don’t mind the military academies, there’s respect for them no matter how good at football they are). Adding the likes of UNT, Charlotte, FAU, etc has been nothing but disastrous, they all suck and are terrible at athletics and branding. We need to just win as much as possible and get out, our first chance.
  22. He coached under Harbaugh at Mich, gotta be a little crazy to coach with crazy, haha.
