  1. Didn't see this posted yet, but Rivals has named Raymond Woodie as the best recruiter in the AAC. http://usf.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1608541 He got some great prospects for us in this years class!
  2. I work with a guy who was roomates with one of the victims as recently as 6 months ago. He said some of his other buddies were following the 4 guys on 275 and decided they were hungry so they got off the Hillsborough exit to go to Taco Bus. Imagine stopping to get food and then getting back on the interstate and your friends have been involved in a tragic accident like that. I lost a cousin who was 17 when I was 16 at the time to a senseless car accident. It really makes you appreciate the time you're given.
  3. Renewed last month and this is the first year I was able to donate so I upgraded our seats. I'm really looking forward to next season!
  4. I was there with my wife and was actually wondering who from TBP was there. Also, did anyone else notice that Taggart's son looks just like a mini version of CWT? There's definitely no denying him! We enjoyed it again this year.
  5. Great news for our university! Hopefully the numbers will continue to go up!
  6. I like them... should help with recruiting.
  7. Just made my donation. First time donor and me and my wife are looking forward to beginning what will be many years of donating down the road. I guess I'll have to talk to my ticket rep about getting some new seats for next season... we are excited to finally be a part of the club!
  8. Me and my wife went last year and had a good time. We will be attending again this year.
  9. Last season was terrible and we definitely are losing some guys that will be missed, but I tell you what... watching that and thinking about some of the young players we've got now has me excited for what the future has in store. I personally can't wait for next season already and truly believe we will start to turn things around, starting this year!
  10. That isn't entirely fair to that person. If a compliance director monitors the programs, promotes a culture of of compliance in the department and does everything right, a rouge coach can easily cheat. The compliance director shouldn't automatically be the fall guy. Now with that being said, my last paragraph was all hypothetical. I have no knowledge on any of these things, I am just saying that a good compliance director who does everything right can still have violations occur on their watch. Oh, I wasn't implying that he should be the fall guy. I guess more than anything I thought it was interesting because the powers that be obviously thought he was doing a good enough job to promote him. So if anything I guess I'm leaning toward the "review of the matter" will likely not come up with much worth getting worked up about.
  11. Here's a question I have, and forgive me if this has been brought up already and I missed it but... if we do end up having some sort of NCAA violation on our hands, didn't we just promote the person responsible for ensuring we comply with NCAA rules to executive senior associate athletic director?
  12. I like Higgins a lot for the job! Jim Lighthall was saying on The Fan today that Higgins absolutely LOVES USF and would do everything in his power to see the university succeed. I love the idea of having someone who graduated from USF and is passionate about our university and the athletic programs he would be in charge of. To me, that's definitely what we need!
  13. Dede always played hard for us and deserves all the success he achieves in life. I hope to see him playing on Sundays, but if for some reason that doesn't work out, now he's got that education to take him on to success in other aspects of life. Congrats Dede!
  14. I was surprised to get the email this early as well, but I like that they're getting this started early. Like was mentioned already, I like the option of spreading the payments out instead of doing one lump sum all at once. Me and my wife will be upgrading our season tickets this time.
  15. Just to chime in since I made the original post, I really don't care if you remove the kids name. I guess if someone tweeted it and then it got retweeted or whatever and then posted here it would be okay? Maybe these players should be more careful which friends they express their frustrations to... I know I'm not the only one being engaged in conversation in public places about USF football from people who have friends on the team. Is what gets posted on a messageboard really going to damage a players standing on the team more than a lack of respect for the coaching staff would if that is in fact the case? Okay, sure, put that blame on me if you want. As far as the point of the thread, I agree with the fact that if there are disgruntled players who don't want to play for the coaches, let them pack their bags.
  16. My wife holds a degree from USF, I have a degree from USF and will soon be working on my second degree from USF. We bleed green and gold and will NEVER give up on any of our athletic programs! We have had season tickets for several years now and after our worst season ever we are going to finally be able to start donating next year and will also be upgrading our season tickets as well. We are already planning which road game we want to try to make it to next season and we hope to be able to increase our donations each year. We will never give up and the only thing we expect in return in that the team always do the same!
  17. Yeah, that's why "a lot" was the emphasis. I could see a few guys being disgruntled and not liking the discipline or the scheme or whatever, but I feel like this kid was exaggerating a bit with the way he made it sound. I told him anytime you have a coaching change there will be players who don't like it but it's up to the coach to weed out the bad apples. I can't see any of the players recruited by CWT not having respect for him and his staff. I mean why would you agree to come play for a coach you didn't respect?
  18. Let's end the season with a W! Go Bulls!
  19. Okay, I was debating about posting this since I don't put a ton of credibility in the source but decided to pass it on for what it's worth. I mentioned in the Andre Davis post that I was in the Perry Ellis store the other day and the kid who worked there starting talking football with me since I had my USF gear on. He mentioned that he knew a guy on the team and he claimed that a lot of the players don't respect CWT. He said some would refuse to dress for practices and didn't really want to play for the guy. I asked him who his friend is and he said ******* ******. He made it sound as if ****** was among the ones who didn't respect CWT. Me and my wife took it as the guys who obviously weren't recruited by CWT are the ones who are part of the problem because maybe they don't like the discipline he's brought in. Wasn't ****** recruited by the previous staff also? From the way this kid made it sound, CWT has a bigger overhaul on his hands than what I thought. But again, I'm not putting too much credibility in the source since from talking to him it was obvious he didn't know a whole lot about college football. Just thought I would pass it on and see if anyone else had heard anything regarding "a lot" of players not having respect for the coach? Edited by Bulliever to remove allegations associated with a player
  20. I was in the Perry Ellis store the other day and the kid who worked there starting talking football with me since I was wearing USF stuff. He mentioned that Andre had come in there about a week ago and said he was going to leave for the draft after this season. I told him what pretty much everyone on here seems to be in agreement with, that he could benefit from another year with hopefully just one QB getting him the ball for an entire season. I mean, we went through 4 QB's this season. I hope he decides to stay but the info from this kid is that he's not planning on it. Take it for what it's worth.
  21. Just a heads up, if you like the helmet design and are going to be at the game tomorrow, the guy who came up with the design will be recognized for the helmet design, the ticket design and his service to our country. So you can show your appreciation if you are at the game tomorrow.
  22. Someone I know (used to work with her son), her husband apparently came up with the design for those helmets as well as the design for the tickets for Saturdays game. They are definitely pretty bad ass!
