  1. Right now, I'll take just a well-played game, let alone a win. I'm with you on this..... A hard fought game to the end will be a sign the players have not given up on themselves.... The coaches cannot coach, but maybe the players can play.... we will see soon I hope the players start showing some more heart and determination on the field. I just wonder how much of the problem can be addressed by players alone.
  2. This is what I was thinking, and hoping for. Let's see what the results might be.
  3. I have heard Skip make reference to this a few times, as well as some of the players mentioning it. After the loss to Ball State, the seniors organized a players only meeting, no coaches. I have also heard Skip and some of the players mention that the attitudes of a lot of guys really changed after this meeting. What do you think was said in this meeting? Do you think a players only meeting might indicate that like a lot of the fan base, the players are starting to lose faith in the coaching staff, or is that reading too much into it? Do you think a meeting like this has the potential to change anything? I'm not saying do you think they are going to go out and beat FSU, I'm asking if you think we see a noticeable difference in the effort and execution Saturday and going forward? How much do you think the players can take winning into their own hands if the coaches are still calling conservative and bad plays? It just got me wondering, because I see some guys on the team who look like they want to win every week, but then others who seem to play like, "well if the coaches are okay with being mediocre, so am I".
  4. So far this season I have lost pretty much all excitement I had about our team this year. I will still be there for every home game wearing my green and gold and will still cheer them on, but I just don't have any hopes for this team now and that's depressing.
  5. It's depressing to think that Skip is the highest paid person on the USF staff and is living up to his salary the least!
  6. I agree! This was an upset and we definitely have more talent. Just because you are a senior does not mean you automatically get to start or even get in the game for that matter. If Skip can recruit players who can perform better than the current seniors then you play them instead. The fact is, this coaching staff is complete garbage!
  7. And then the 3rd quarter starts Hopefully we can get a little help from mother nature to end the game early!
  8. I agree, BJ saved us on so many plays today. It's hard to believe we beat this team by 30 last season. We really do suck now.
  9. I am a senior and will graduate in the spring, then on to grad school at USF as well. I think the current students should be given an option to add some cost on to their tuition to put towards buying out Skips contract and starting over with someone else! I know that would never happen, but I for one would let them double my tuition if it meant we could get rid of this coaching staff!
  10. I agree. I haven't posted much since the loss to Rutgers because even though I'm seriously pissed about that performance, I am trying not to be too negative about the rest of the season. We'll see how the next few games go.
  11. I was listening to 98.7 on my way home from school today and Booger was talking about the play. From a guy who actually played in the NFL, his players point of view was that it was cheap and bush league. He also mentioned the inconsinstency of the play calling. I didn't watch the game, but apparently there was the same situation at the end of the first half when the Bucs were up and they did not "play till the whistle blew" on that occasion. Booger made the point that they only followed this game plan when they were about to lose the game because they were outplayed and outcoached. I would have to agree with Booger here and if a play like this very rarely ever works at the pro level, why make yourself look like an ass when you just got beat and are not likely to change that with this play? I would also like to make mention of this post on the USF Football facebook page today... "Congratulations to former Bull Nate Allen, the Philadelphia Eagles Safety had a team high 10 tackles in the Eagles 24-23 win over the Ravens. Congratulations also go ou to former Bulls Jason Pierre-Paul and Jacquian Williams of the New York Giants on their comeback victory over the Buccaneers." Hmmmm...
  12. Agreed! And like I told my wife tonight, when teams don't reach potential, coaches get fired, it's on them!
  13. Said this on another thread, and I'll say it again. O-line was not the issue tonight. Rutgers overloaded our O-line on the blitz and our QB got happy feet and couldn't find open receivers. I thought our O-line played well given the circumstances, and on blitzes, I'll say I saw Murray picking up more than a few blocks when he was in the game. Run blocking - hard to blame them too much, again, Rutgers D stacked the line but we still tried to run up the gut or off tackle. Defense, that's another story. Defense WAS the story tonight! How many big third downs did we give up tonight? One would have been too many! Between that and special teams AGAIN! Their time of possession was almost double ours! This is ridiculous! Agreed, except for the part about one big third down being too many. You obviously expect our defense to be greater than it is, and I'm not sure why. Not saying I expect our defense to not give up any big third downs at all, just extremely frustrated we couldn't get off the **** field tonight!

  15. This. I go into every game thinking my team is capable of winning, even if I don't exactly think they are the best team on the field. This year, just like last, I think we are the best team in the BE, I don't care what the talking heads say. So yeah, I am going into every game with the confidence that USF will win!
  16. All of this and everything else everyone else said too.
  17. I'll drink to that! Seriously, how long should we remain loyal to the Big East? I mean, I know we have to say the right things in public, but I hope that in private conversations the consensus is that if a bigger more stable conference comes calling, that we won't hesitate!
  18. Even if USF only gave up 347 yards in the last three quarters, that's equal to giving up 463 yards through four quarters. So, yes even if you throw out the first quarter and back calculate the yardage allowed in the other three quarters, our defense is still swiss cheese. At this point, to me, it looks like we have the same defense we had last year. Louisville and Cincy are going to shred us, but if our offense can play mistake free football we'll stay in the game. Rutgers has no offense, so our D should hold them. It's just a matter of can our offense break through their D? Same will go for UConn. We are the same team as last year with better WRs. I'm going to have to disagree here. Last years team loses this game against Nevada, even with better WRs.
