  1. Getting giddy at the announcement of an announcement... but need a bit more to go on before letting myself feel anything ever again.
  2. Not only is nothing close to over, but seeing this kind of reporting out really strongly indicates to me that Colorado is not the front runner for Sanders. I think it’s obvious this story came from the Colorado side, not Deion’s team, given the framing, given the reporter (PAC-12 partner ESPN), which isn’t something you would need to leak if you believe you are in a position of strength. If Colorado thought they were the front runner for Sanders, then they wouldn’t need to leak that they offered him a contract and are waiting on him. The only reason Deion would leak this would be to get his preferred team to up their offer. It would be a leverage play with someone else. Otherwise, what, he’s negotiating with his preferred future employer (this would be assuming he wants Colorado) through the press? That’s not a good way to start a professional relationship. The framing of this report makes me feel stronger about our chances with Sanders, and I don’t think that’s an unreasonable take once you analyze this reporting from all possible angles.
  3. The reporting around Deion Sanders and Colorado from Bruce Feldman plays to me like he's pushing Colorado's interest. Colorado wants it known that if Sanders isn't coaching there, it wasn't for a lack of trying. "Job has been offered, coach is considering" isn't that far off from the "reporting" earlier this week about Lane Kiffin jumping to Auburn.
  4. I don't get the hate for Kelly. It's not like he's one of the ADs who oversaw the steady decline of our football program over a decade. We were already in the gutter when he got here.
  5. Remember kids, you can’t spell “**** UCF” without using UCF twice.
  6. Man, seeing this thread title between two Quinton Flowers threads, I was prepared for something actually heartbreaking.
  7. Jeff’s gotta go. Undo the IPF and refund the donors if that’s what it takes. My avatar is Scott jumping on Dabo the moment they won the NC. I now see it as Scott essentially riding Dani’s coattails to make it this far in his career.
  8. Officially this is landfalling as top-end Cat 4. Based off live data, I would be shocked if it's not revised to Cat 5 in the spring review, just like Hurricane Michael in 2018 was. This would make two Cat 5 landfalls for Florida in a five year span.
  9. The storm surge threat with Ian is going to be unreal... A cat 3/4 parked just off the coast of Tampa Bay for up two 24 hours... that's the nightmare storm surge scenario for Tampa.
  10. USF will attract an upper tier coach if they can prove that it's possible to build a "best of the rest" program here. Facilities are essential to that. The talent pool exists here. The big media market potential is here. And the road to the 12-team CFP is now being paved.
  11. Got back from my margarita spot two minutes ago, worried I may have missed a big early play. Now I’m worried about the margarita wearing off before kickoff…
  12. Haven’t been able to keep in the loop this cycle. What’s the down-low on our class?
  13. Even after today, 0% chance Scott is getting shitcanned. But he very much has to turn this **** around in year 3, much like Willie did.
  14. Protective Stadium lacks any kind of unique character. It's as bare-bones a design as it gets. Please USF, aim better than that.
  15. Those 3 teams we defeated in conference that season (UConn, SMU, Tulsa) went a combined 5-31 that season. Two of those games we won were by a combined 4 points. 2014 should not be in the same conversation as 2015.
  16. 100% agree. Felt it heading into today's game. Aside from the SMU game three weeks ago, you can see positive progress from game-to-game across the season. Now we just need to keep on improving in the rest of the season. Let's take care of business against ECU, and then if we can upset Cincinnati at home in three weeks (they only scraped by ECU today) we can really change the narrative around our program. Won't be easy, but it is doable.
  17. Last week felt a lot like the 2015 Memphis game. We were 1-2 going in, pitchforks sharpening for Willie, and lost a close, tough game that felt like it was on the edge of a program breakthrough. That was followed by a strong victory the next week over Syracuse, which I think is generally considered the game Willie's program turned around. Those two weeks feel a lot like these past two weeks for me. I felt good about the team going into today's game, and I think this might be the turning point. This feels like a breakthrough. Glad McCain got some rest after rolling his ankle. I stand by what I said last week, he's shown more poise and better improv in his freshman year than QF showed in his.
  18. "Pool table and ping-pong table" is one of the highlights of our athletic facility upgrades, per the ESPN broadcast. Yeah, I'm sure that's some recruit's make-or-break.
