  1. His silence speaks for itself. To some people, human life is irrelevant.
  2. @94 Bull Would you like to tell me how many deaths are fine by you? Or do you not want to admit that you don't think it matters how many people die? Your idea that the longer it takes for everyone/the herd to get the virus, the chances of an individual getting the virus goes up, is ******* laughable. Absolutely contradictory logic. "If people don't get the virus now, people are more likely to get the virus later". Hilarious. You should do stand-up comedy.
  3. USF has an opening the last weekend of October. FAU has an opening the 3rd weekend of November. The next time both teams have an opening is the first weekend of December (neither team has a game scheduled after the end of November)
  4. FAU had 18 players test positive last week.
  5. How many deaths would have been acceptable? There have been 187k deaths so far in the continent of Europe, with its total population of 741m. There have been 200k deaths so far in America, with its total population of 328m. I suggest that half of our current death toll would have been the upper end of what’s acceptable. Instead it’s double what it should be, because some stupid people were never taking this seriously as early as March. So I ask you again: what do you think is an acceptable number of deaths? Is there a limit to what you would consider to be acceptable, or does it not matter how many people die?
  6. The subject of this thread isn’t even about FAU... it’s about USF’s football team and COVID. What else should the discussion be about?
  7. How many deaths do you think is an acceptable amount? Is there a number at which point it’s too much, or are any-and-all deaths a-okay?
  8. 1: Just like how Ebola, SARS, MERS, H1N1 and other global viruses never went away? We’re all still suffering so much from those epidemics, right? 2: Does “no one” include taxpayers who funded the special Florida & Federal unemployment checks you were eligible for most of this year?
  9. Best to contain it as much as possible..... right? Minimize risks, save lives, and all that jazz?
  10. None of this should be surprising. Last week, daily average new cases trended up for the first time since the mid-July peak. We got down to 35k new cases a day 12 days ago before climbing back up to 41k now. If that figure continues trending upward this week, then it will be clear we’re gearing up as a country for a third wave this fall (which was already presumed, but might now be shown in the data)
  11. Honestly I expect college football to shut down before the Big 10 gets up and running again.
  12. The team can literally only get better from where they were yesterday. There’s nowhere to go but up. Just gotta make that climb. We gotta “Free Solo” it.
  13. It should be an automatic forfeit on FAU's part. We shouldn't be penalized because they can't get their **** together. Our coordinators must be laughing their asses off right now.
  14. And I’m sure he’s glad he got to go win one with Peyton.
  15. I can summarize Willie T's failure at FSU in just two words: TURNOVER BACKPACK. I mean, really? Of all the Turnover Chain rip-offs we saw since Miami unveiled their chain, the BACKPACK was by far the weakest.
  16. Great coaches scheme around the talent they have that day, while recruiting players to fit the direction that coach wants to go. Not implement a system immediately without the players to support it. That's why Taggart was close to getting fired 2 1/2 years into his USF gig before QF finally took **** into his own hands at the Homecoming game vs Syracuse. And I believed back then as I still believe today that he would have been fired if that game was a loss (his record would have been 7-21 at that point)
  17. That most certainly was not the narrative at the time. Everyone knew his time at Alabama was done. If he didn't get a coaching job, it was known at the time the LSU OC gig was his if he wanted it. When he picked FAU inexplicably, there wasn't much doubt that he would be able to implement his offensive schemes at that level that would take advantage of the lesser-caliber defenses in CUSA. I remember it being widely accepted that it was a 2-3 year layover before getting a premier job again, assuming he won championships at FAU (that was the expectation, and it was met).
  18. Are you saying that if Lane can win 2 conference championships and have two 10 win seasons at FAU in a three year span, then anyone can? That's what led to him getting a big job again. Because I disagree. I think that Lane, even counting all his flaws, has a leg up on Willie T and anyone else who has coached FAU since Schnellenberger. Lane is a true Xs and Os offensive mastermind.
  19. The year we beat ND, the only other teams we beat that year were Ball State, Florida A&M, UTEP, and Syracuse. We were a bad team that year. We don’t need amazing to win on Saturday.
  20. Do you think Dabo invented coaches dancing in the locker room with their players?
  21. Being corny works. Makes you more relatable. Knocks yourself down a peg with fun and humility. The only thing that matters is if the players buy into the corniness. I think the answer in this case is clearly YES. If the coaches can have fun, the players know they can have fun. And neither the coaches or players we’re having much fun with Chuckles.
  22. Tonight went as well as anyone could have reasonably hoped. Certainly better than I expected. Best part was seeing an energy along the sideline that was missing the entire Charlie Strong era.
