  1. I think TX and OU have already decided to bolt and this will start the demolition of that conference. Maybe four teams will get stuck. Thus, they will backload eight teams (including USF) or those four teams will be pushed into the AAC/MWC. But I suspect teams would rather go into a water down Big12. But we would still be on the outside of a new P4. The best bet is for TX and OU to continue to make the playoffs and hope they want to stay. Then they will see a need to add two more teams to round out the conference and produce a better conf championship game. I am not convinced that USF would be one of the two teams though as there are a lot of competitors.
  2. There are just too many teams and not enough spots.
  3. ...after “selection committee” you can add “and ESPN” as they got to show these teams for a guarantee return on their investment.
  4. Again, why would espn want to give the conference more $? If we don’t have a network or on line provider (and I don’t think they are going to be a tier 1 rights option) for leverage, espn could just low ball us (even with decent tv numbers...which is still questionable throughout the league).
  5. The dudes you showed were personalities and you can count them on one hand. Now it is an entire defensive backfield for every team. Look, I get it, it motivates so if it works fine. But it just looks hokey. Next thing you know people will start taking pictures of their food before they eat it and post it on line to people who don’t give ****....GOD I love getting old
  6. Well not like they do today...turnover chains, writing names on whiteboards after an interception, putting on shouldpads with spikes, it looks like professional wrestling.
  7. Yeah it is the chain that causes people to watch CFB (eye roll)...strange how there were millions watching before the millennials and their need attention culture took over.
  8. Well even if they want to change it, it will take another 10 years for the change to happen according to the current contract (I believe it is 2027 or 28).
  9. Correct...supply and demand Leverage will be determined by tv viewing numbers and the number of bidders on AAC programing (Espin, NBC, Fox...streaming services). Low ball = $3 mil per year per team High ball = $8 mil per year per team
  10. I bet more are watching than ECU vs Tulane though...
  11. Little earlier LOL...84-86. Had a blast there. Lived one year at Beta Hall too.
  12. Well she is right...the AAC does have more value. What that amount is is under question.
  13. The only thing the tv bidders will care about is the number of eyes watching the games. The ucf vs USF game was good but we need about three or four of these in a row. Also that is just one game. Who is watching ECU vs Tulane? I have no idea what the tv numbers are for the past year for the conference but we will need multiple years of people watching to increase the TV contract.
  14. I think the win will continue to get discussion during the off season buts let’s face it does it really matter? Is anyone on this board really suggesting the playoffs are going to change anytime soon? Perhaps...but we will all be worm food by then. Once this machine was set up it is tough to change it.
  15. With LSU loss and the other three right in front of losing I suspect we will be about #20 in the AP
  16. My hats off to ucf. Well done. Think about how we pissed away our BCS opportunity years ago.
