  1. hoping to get my season tickets at fanfest with the gf. already in debt, but hoping to find some half decent seats.
  2. well i don't stoop to making the comments like that. i don't want him to get injured or die or anything. but there's always gonna be somebody to fill the "that guy" role.
  3. their arena is nice, but the dome is pretty much on par after the renovations. it's not like you can really outdo each other unless you're going all out like louisville or kentucky have. court, seats, concessions, plenty of bathrooms. both ucf and usf have that. i don't think ucf has much for club sections though, but they do have a few suite boxes.
  4. It is absolutely amazing ... lol, true. i don't see anything wrong with people doing that though. possibility of being on our team? be open to it. once they commit to someone else, they are now the enemy. hate away i say. esp anything to do with Jorts U.
  5. the worst part is that if fsu fans buy that game ticket that includes another single game, they won't use it, so not only will they try to outnumber us for their game, but they'll likely just waste that seat for another game, unless they actually try to sell it. most fsu fans would probably eat the cost of the 2nd game seat and not bother to sell it.
  6. we didn't get james wilder jr either, and that ******* hasn't done much for fsu but end up at jail. doesn't mean vh3 will pan out either #justsayin
  7. i like how one player tweeted how will he show his son his accomplishments from PSU...show him the ******* highlight video or the whole game tape. jesus, it's not like they confiscated every piece of game film and killed every player and announcer and person who saw those games. gimme a break. i think because of the other stipulations of the punishment, people are overexemplifying the meaning of the word 'vacated'. lol, board of trustees is now just looking for a technicality to boot this current azzhat...good luck getting an appeal.
  8. sorry, i wouldn't be gasping and crying if this sh;t happened to usf or whatever school i was going to. like many have said, football isn't dead. they're just gonna be about as competitive as new mexico state or tulane, boo hoo. and i don't recall seeing anyone say usf wasn't putting their athletics on a pedestal. we do. but it isn't THAT big yet. it does happen at every university that has higher level athletics. spare me the financial rants about out of control budgets and tuitions and cutting academics, etc. sure, i'd be bummed if we weren't going bowling for 4 years and had to play sh!tty for a while. but i also am logical and understand where things come from. sure it sucks for the students and current athletes to have to go through...even the former players who had nothing to do with any of it. but this type of entity there isn't much else you can do without it looking like a slap on the wrist. anything that didn't diminish their football prowess for a few years (i.e. getting only a fine and even just donating revenues and such to charities) wasn't enough. there may have been less money to buy fancy shoes (not that PSU does that anyways) or do extra recruiting, but for the most part, the school would have been par for the course. this had to be done. if you don't agree, you're allowed to. but it is what it is. dealwithit.jpg edit - it's funny because those students are acting like they just got expelled from the university themselves. sure, their tenure might not be filled with "glory days", but who is to say if paterno stayed or another coach came along naturally that they didn't end up sucking for 10 years straight, even without the scandal and penalties? these kids should be grateful they're still at a top notch institution of learning and just f;kcing go to class. they can still tailgate, still watch football, they're still gonna win some games, it's not like they'll go 0-12 for ten years straight. i can understand their frustration, but for them to piss and moan like they just watched their dog get run over is just dumb. maybe they should go ask WKU or fau or some other crap school how it feels to be a wanker team when they're under no sanctions at all, and how great it would be to even be a team that wins 5-6 games a year. it's not the end of the world. it could be a lot worse. and the ones feeling like it's the end of the world just don't get it.
  9. sorry, couldn't help but laugh at those "poor" students who were doing the whambulance dance in their student center. boo ******* hoo, your football/college experience isn't gone. it's just not as good. welcome to being usf or some other non-elite program for a few years. while the penalties may be worse than the death penalty, be glad you can still have a football team out there. and if you think they're gonna be no good, go to a basketball/baseball/soccer/volleyball (PSU has great v-ball) and keep focus on your studies. football is great, but it isn't supposed to consume your life, and for the regular non-athlete students, you are still getting a great education from a top tier university with ridiculous tuition rates that many other people would kill to be able to afford and go to school there.
  10. at this point, it might actually be a better thing for USF, as brett will be more focused on the college sports world as a whole, and isn't going to really have time to focus on USF unless something big happens here, which would be big enough for other networks to report on as well. since leaving for CBSS, he's had a few jabs at USF, but nothing of the level as before. Props to him if he thinks ESPN is the pinnacle of reporting or something, he'll fit right in with the way ESPN does business. Which surprised me because Pat Forde always seemed an ESPiN guy in the way he did articles, so I was surprised when he got out.
  11. i can't see how anyone would want him expelled from the university unless the crime was a murder, ****, arson, or something on that type of level. small petty stuff, drugs, even a DUI should keep a kid in school, let them try to make the most out of their mistake. as far as the team...if he's a walkon he's likely to get redshirted anyways if he's a freshman, the decision to suspend him from the team should be an easy one. if he is able to make the roster, give him a six game ban (half season) and put him on a short leash. this is why every case is handled individually, at first i was like dumbass....well, he's still a dumbass, but at least he realized quickly to fess up and use it as an experience to take the consequences and hopefully never mess up again. sometimes, that's all that's needed.
  12. okay i'm confused. where are these locker rooms? i thought the athletics building was newer, and hence would have had newer locker rooms when it was built? are they already upgrading them, or is these lockers housed somewhere else like in ray jay or something?
  13. good hire. enjoy watching him and our main strength coach on the sidelines, they get very fired up and certainly bring some energy to the players when needed. and i'm sure his OL experience is great for the linemen to bounce questions off of him and get a little extra knowledge.
  14. surprising it's not gay as **** for once. lol nice job.
  15. not necessarily, being the other conferences have their "consolation/non-playoff" bowls already set up (big 12-sec in champions bowl, and pac 12-big 10 in rose bowl), there's no other conference that will really be worthy enough to play the acc champ in the orange bowl except for the BE...unless ND gets in the mix. ACC could always invite a 2nd/3rd place SEC team or big 12 team or something, but would they want to do that ?
  16. at the very least, skip doesn't love ucf or anything. their games with him at ecu were pretty heated from time to time from what i read. i think he mutually respects o'leary and what ucf is doing, but i sure hope when it comes game time that he has the hatred. luckily, the players will get prodded by dumb ucf students on facebook or something and they'll be able to motivate themselves. hopefully asiianti woulard and jojo kemp will be playing and will want to show why they left their hometown for the better school
  17. What the **** are the italics for?? beta testing of his 'new way of sucking you in' seems to be having good preliminary results!
  18. Getting picked up by a "better" conference isn't a sure thing either, maybe they don't want to deepen the pool with new guys and cut into their precious money pie. My biggest concern is that with this new big 4 setup is that the "middle" conferences as i will now refer to them as, will definitely have teams that are competitive and have great years, but the sustainability factor goes way down. any coach with a glimpse of success will be snatched up before the success gets to the point of being in the 4 team playoff, much less get in and win the whole thing. it's still possible for sure. and there is the exception where a team like boise state can make a great run even from one coach to another over a 5-10 year period. and not that i'm worried they will snatch up holtz, but it's almost like not only is this shaping up to funnel the money and prestige towards the 4 conferences, but also to shape and funnel prospective coaches into the big 4 and away from anyone in the middle who might have a legit shot for once at getting to the four person big boy table. you won't see as many coaches from the pac12/sec/big12/big10 going to a school in those conferences unless it's a dream job or guy going home to his alumni, or a previous coach getting fired and then later picked up at another school from a top 4 conference. all "new" coaches to the scene will be pillaged from the middle.
  19. was just being general. i'm very desensitized, so very hard to offend me. obviously, i have tact and wouldn't personally wear most of that stuff in public - hell, i felt stupid buying a muck fiami t-shirt i took it off as i got to a tailgate once. child victims is probably the one thing i'm not okay with, but i'm not gonna lie, i can chuckle at the generality of a penn state joke while still condemning it and the dirty old pervy f;ck who did it.
  20. HA! Well they are known for their College of Hospitality.
  21. It would be like shooting fish in a barrel ... just looks like someone told him/her to write an op-ed column about an ocs and they did 15-20 minutes of research and threw that together. Trip I know the author... He's a pretty smart guy. He is, he took a pro-OCS stance, wrote a vague column about it, and now he'll reap the benefits of site visits and paper reads across campus, and spark debate and discussion. I dunno if the Oracle has advertisements, but that could generate some things...
  22. That's because USF is winning the war, so all UCF can hope for is to win a small battle here or there (i.e. basketball/baseball). But for real, I don't like this move. Make this the SECOND home opener. Make the first one UT or FAU or something, it's only proper to open it up with a solid win, not a loss to those f2ggot5. Nothing wrong with losing to a supposed rival, but not to open up your "new" arena with them getting a win (if they do), we will never live it down (until we open an OCS and beat them down in the opener for that).
