  1. Looks like most of the roughing is done. Drywall up is a good sign. On to the trim and finishing touches! Thanks for sharing!
  2. This is where I'm mostly at with this team. I truly believe that CJS & his coaches would love to use more tempo, but believe we are STILL limited by injuries and our offensive/defensive talent. When the defense struggles to stop anyone and get off the field, have the offense go at a slower pace to limit the other side's offensive possessions and try to win the game via the T.O.P battle. It's frustrating to see this team sort of stuck in the mud and I'm not quite sure how I will feel if CJS is given another year if we continue to lose out this season. A very small part of me believes that another year with these players getting some consistency in the system and another recruiting cycle to beef up our depth, will pay dividends. However, I also look at the kids we are recruiting and it's depressing to see the schools we are competing with.
  3. This is patently false. It was well established on social media via Joey Johnston, that Ernie Sims was yelling at the DB's during the ECU game and "stopped just short of challenging their manhood". During Louisville and ECU games I also saw CJS on TV get in the face of Bohanon, a WR or a RB after screwing up a play that would've led to a conversion and kept the drive going.
  4. What makes anyone think Leavitt could replicate what he did all those years ago? He hasn't been a head coach since USF. Also, USF as a university is a MUCH different animal than when he was HC. We don't admit the same borderline academic qualifiers that he was able to snag back then.
  5. It's like a chat room within the app that a person can start and then other can join. Everyone is a listener unless they request permission from the creator of the Space to have microphone permissions and those with permissions can talk while others listen. The Space from the other night wasn't as chaotic as people are making it out to be. It was cordial and people were speaking in turn and not over one another.
  6. I mean his name on Twitter is "Coach Bat-T" and he announced who he was in the Space. I heard what he said with my own ears so it wasn't second or third hand. Not really outing a parent when that person joins a public discussion and volunteers that information to a bunch of random strangers. It's no different than Timmy's dad going on Twitter complaining there was no QB competition.
  7. Battie's dad said he was with about 8 players after the game and the players were questioning the coaches and whether the coaches know what they are doing.
  8. My phone died, but I didn’t snap a pic. It was USF dark green with “War Flamingos” in gold on one side and the other side had a gold flamingo. Hilarious.
  9. Which one of you scallywags is flying the War Flamingo flag in Lot 6???? LMAO
  10. So say that then. He said 1st game on Saturday at 3pm. There’s enough characters in that Tweet to mention broadcast at 3, game at 4.
  11. Wow, I didn't realize our first game was at 3pm on Saturday!!! Thanks Cowhead!
  12. Check to see if any of the sports books have AAC conference futures bets. I put $100 on USF to qualify for the AAC championship game at +2000 on Bovada. Suckers bet for sure, but if it happens that's a nice 2k in my pocket.
  13. I just completed this quiz. My Score 46/100 My Time 207 seconds
  14. We all know the defense was not great last year. I looked up some stats just now from last year: 1) Opponents converted 39.6% or their 3rd down plays 2) Opponents converted 63.64% of their 4th down plays. 3) We allowed 206 rushing yards per game for a 5.8 average per attempt. (YIKES) 4) We allowed 263.3 passing yards per game for a 8.3 average per attempt. (DOUBLE YIKES) 5) Overall we allowed 470 yards per game with 7 yards per play average. 6) We only had 9 sacks on the season 7) We allowed opponents to convert 63% of red zone possessions into TDs. Now I know we've added depth, but those underperforming players are still out there for us. I won't hold my breath that a coaching and philosophy change will somehow spark a dramatic turnaround defensively. I would love nothing more than to be proven wrong though. EDIT: Let's also not forget that BYU's QB Jaren Hall was out against us last year and he is much more dynamic than their backup that scorched us.
  15. So the "Intent to Award" date is exactly how it sounds. This project will be design-build so the General Contractor they select will be tasked with all phases of building the project. The Intent to Award will likely be a Letter of Intent ("LOI") that tell the GC "hey we are going to select you to build this project, for this budget, and for this timeline". From that point it will be the GC's responsibility to timely get their design finished, subcontractors on board, and various other tasks in conjunction with the construction schedule provided by USF. Source: I negotiate multi-million dollar construction contracts for a national design-build electrical contractor.
  16. My work sponsors a team every year and I got to go last year. It was pouring rain all day, but otherwise a lot of fun. There were also a tonnnn of raffle prizes and I won a few. If your company won't pay for a team, $625 per person for a team is pretty steep though.
  17. Correct. Their MEP subs would be the ones providing the material in their respective contracts. You'd also be surprised how many subcontracts don't have escalation language in them.
  18. This assumes the Tampa Vipers will still exist when the XFL returns. I've read that there are no guarantees the original host cities will have teams when the league re-launches. I've also read that the XFL was exploring moving the Vipers to Orlando before the league folded and that The Rock and his team are following through on that relocation.
  19. I don't think the type of contract matters, whether it be lump sum, GMP, or cost plus. Even if there are cost savings that benefit the GC for early completion, there would surely be a liquidated damages clause for late completion. The GC would know when we need it ready by at bid time and they made a commitment that they could get it done in that timeframe at the cost they bid out. If there's excusable delays for weather events, sure that could extend the schedule also.
  20. Once the roof is complete and everything is waterproofed the rest should be easy. Rough and trim shouldn't take too long at all. They'll also be able to work longer hours as well as weekends if need be to hit the scheduled deadline. Even if its at no additional cost to the GC.
  21. Idk it's a start. I mean this is exactly how they cleaned up the River Walk area. Slapped Armature Works and the River Walk in. Property taxes then shot up and many of the folks couldn't afford to live there. Developers rolled in and purchased properties for cash and split the lots into two and then threw up big 'ol houses up on them. Attracted young well off families and new businesses and the entire area is changing. It is a bit of a different animal with all the apartments around USF, but it can be done.
  22. I see this under a different lens. We all know conference realignment is still ongoing and that more moves could be made in the next 2-4 years. By locking in all of the coaches, it shows other conferences the University has stability when it comes to Athletics and that we are committed to building strong programs through that stability. I believe a conference looking to expand would look at coaching chaos unfavorably. Also, I disagree with the argument that because all extensions were announced at the same time that it was a "blanket" extension and that all programs weren't individually evaluated. There's nothing wrong with announcing all of the extensions at the same time. It's kind of cool actually. I'm also not going to judge the extensions until we see the terms/conditions of them. Who are we to say they are terrible without knowing those terms/conditions? Maybe BG and CJS weren't given straight up raises, maybe their contracts are performance based, maybe the extensions don't guarantee any additional funds and are just a makeup for the 2 year interruption COVID caused?
  23. Lotta folks on here quick to jump on Timmy and criticize him. What this kid came in and did in less than a year in the system is quite impressive. He will grow and he will be better next year, especially if the offensive coaching staff remains in tact. Everyone's quick to forget how terrible Flowers was when he was a freshman. He was so bad he got pulled from the game in his first start. We didn't see him much the remainder of that year. I will say that Timmy could really benefit from a coach like Shaun King. We saw what King did with Flowers in the short time he had him.
  24. Would rather see Marsh if Timmy can't go. Fortin's proved he's a practice superstar and not a gamer.
  25. What's more offensive is that they already did the Superhero halftime theme against Tulsa. Recycled material is getting off easy.
