  1. If we can slow the run even a little or put some points on the board it looks like their passing game isn't great
  2. Why is it so hard to find a decent punter? Didn't Nadlemon or w/e punt in high school?
  3. Meanwhile WKU has 4 turnovers in the first quarter. What happened to Petrino being their savior?
  4. I understand player safety and no helmet to helmet hits, but kicking players out of the game for a helmet to helmet hit is ridiculous. Just happened in the Houston game
  5. Please exit the stadium....No one left the stadium So is Bench going to play if Eveld struggles or is he going to play regardless?
  6. Nope. Holtz did and look what qb's he left us with... Matt is obviously a good practice player but when people are actually rushing him, legitimately covering and bumping receivers, and he's having to make reads during all this he's not good. Maybe its physical, maybe its psychological. Either way he is not good.
  7. USF has never been able to stop the run effectively. The only time we have been able to do that was against the spread offense type teams. It was the downfall of every JL run team. We had so much speed but no size.
  8. I don't disagree with that at all. I can only imagine where we would be if ole Jim was still slapping people around
  9. The same WKU team that was built by our current head coach mind you...Which beat a UK team that also had a new head coach
  10. To your point, if Saban or Shula would go 0-12 with this team then surely a retard would as well, so how much would we really learn about our coaching staff? My point wasn't so much that they would go 0-12 or that we couldn't evaluate Taggart for last nights loss. It's his team now. I'm just saying that we have very little talent in the positions that matter and that won't be fixed in one offseason. We aren't USC or even a team like Arkansas. Team's like that can have down years and bounce back quickly because big time recruits go there year in and year out regardless of the coach. Even the best coaches can only do so much with the talent they are given. Wrong. No defense in the WORLD should let McDonalds State drop 53 points on them. WORST HOME LOSS IN USF HISTORY. No they shouldn't, but how many of those points fall on the offense and special teams being completely inept? Floyds two picks including a pick six. The 33 yard punt from inside our own 20. The fumble inside our own 20. The numerous 3 and outs our offense put up.
  11. I don't want to make excuses for the defense, but lets be real here. Floyd threw 2 picks, one of which was returned for a TD. Shaw fumbled inside our own 20. Our punter kicked a ball 33 yds from our what 10 yard line? That's four opportunities right there inside our own 50 that led to points. Not to mention the numerous 3 and outs that came one after another. I'm sure the defense just got deflated and gassed at some point. I didn't get to watch the game, but I followed it on my phone so correct me if I am wrong here. I've read they were getting gashed for big runs up the middle but that has ALWAYS been an issue for us. Even back in the Leavitt days. Rutgers, UCONN, Pitt would always run buckwild on our small team.
  12. True this. Not to say Petrino isn't a good coach, but he basically won with Willy Taggarts team did he not? I didn't see any freshman make a huge impact from looking over the box score.
  13. Why would he be smiling? Because his team also got shelled and his former team that he put together got shelled?
  14. Skip Holtz isn't the reason we lost last night but this is still a team he put together that won 3 games last year and lost substantial talent at multiple positions (QB, CB, K, P)
  15. Some people really need to chill out. We could have Don Shula coaching the team, or Nick Saban it would not matter. You can only coach talent so far. We were barely a 3 win team last year with our best QB we've ever had (I know some people won't agree). We got worse at QB. We got worse at CB. We got worse at a lot of positions. Tagg's is still coaching a team that was basically put together by Skip Holtz. Yes Freshman can make an impact, but did you really expect miracles after 9 months of recruiting under a whole new coaching staff? This isn't like pro football where you can trade for players or sign free agents. It's college football. There is only so much you can do with a given team. If this was year three under Tagg's then yes he should be lambasted, fired etc...But this is game 1.
  16. One positive thing? WIllies post game comments. He didn't sound like a little *****. He sounded like a real man owning up to his mistakes. He said that anyone that quit on the team would be benched. Much more refreshing than Holtz. I'll give Willie a chance as embarrassing as this was.
  17. 1) The winning team- USF 2) The final score- 34-10 3) Bulls leading rusher- Shaw 4) Bulls leading receiver- Price 5) Bulls total offensive yards (closest without going over)- 450
  18. What does that say about Rex Ryan and Belicheck not being about to find a way to use arguably 'the best player in college football history'? Big difference in my opinion between a guy that can dominate in college football and a guy that can play in the NFL. Tebow ran a gimmicky offense in college with lots of speed and talent around him. If you have guys with NFL skills, your team should be able to showcase their skills. Holtz could not do that. Tebow is simply showing that he wasn't very good at anything but running away/over guys in college. It's the same type of thing Vince Young did or most USC qb's. They had stacked teams around them.
