  1. Now that I look at it closer, that expansion picture isnt fully painted
  2. Yes, that is part of the expansion. Most of the rec center has that paint color now....except the front concrete slab.
  3. It doesent show the concrete very well. The concrete front is disgusting looking. Its dirty, and just a huge concrete slab in front of the walls that have been paintedo n the outside. If you see it in person, you will know what we are saying.
  4. That picture makes it look better than it really is. It looks like crapola.
  5. When is that supposed to take place?
  6. Yeah it really does look bad. I thought they would at least paint it when they remodeled it.
  7. This one is MUCH better than the past couple of years. Simple, sharp, and emphasis on tradition.
  8. Maybe we can get some competition going at the Dome like there is between the Student Section and the Southies at Ray Jay .... Sounds good to me. What section are you in in the Dome?
  9. Got my basketball seats today, section 108 is where its at!
  10. I havent been to the new location yet, which I feel bad about. It would be unfortunate if Bucs & Bulls Heaven is in some financial trouble. Just keep giving them your business as much as possible. Im sure their sales will pick up as we get closer to the season. Really nice people own it, so I fully support giving local businesses my money.
  11. My hope is that Athletics, the University, and the city of Tampa/Hillsborough County can all work together to improve the area between the campus up to the Claw along 46th street. Put in sidewalks and perhaps a pedestrian bridge, so that it's all linked together and gives the school a bigger presence. I agree with that. I was thinking about that as well. The Golf team just got a sweet new Mercedes van to travel in, which im sure they use to travel to and from The Claw from the Lee Roy Selmon Athletic Facility (I love saying that.) I think 46th needs to be more pedestrian friendly, maybe do what they did on 42nd by adding sidewalks and better street lighting. The whole area on the north side of campus (42nd and 46th) and along Fletcher need to be emcompassed by the university in terms of making streets more pedestrian friendly and more of a true student housing feel. 42nd has had major improvements already.
  12. Or maybe just that fact that they some of them were missing actual hoops and the court is full of pot holes. Could just be they are repaving and improving the courts. If that is the case, that would be quite unfortunate. I've been wanting them to get rid of those courts for years. They need to move those courts to somewhere else on campus, closer to the dorms. Walked by there today. They've resurfaced the entire court and have installed some new goalposts (no backboards yet) Awful decision to me. Oh well. Thanks for the update. Man, A lot of people are jumping the gun on this. Woolard mentioned that an indoor practice facility is NEXT on the list, he didn't say that they are already or about to start it. It takes a while to come up with the plans AND THE FUNDS to build a new facility. I think people might be comparing it to the golf building, but that one had a particular donor willing to shell out the $$$ to get it started NOW (perhaps partially to be able see his son using it) Woolard just mentioned the indoor building being next on April. As Greg Aumen said in his article: "Such a facility, done the right way, would likely cost in the neighborhood of $14 million, and Woolard and his staff are now challenged with raising the funds to make that happen" That may take a couple of years given our economy (which hurts donor support) They need to know how much money they will get before they can start planning the building, much less start breaking ground on it. In the mean time, they aren't going to let a particular portion of land, especially one as visible and used, as the basketball courts just get run down. It doesn't cost too much to keep it maintained, given that there's current budgets lines for such issues. I dont think you understand what I was saying that was disappointing. I'm not disappointed that they have not begun work on the fieldhouse, Im disappointed that they are not moving those public basketball courts. I would like to see them somewhere else on campus other than where they are currently located.
  13. So much more nice than UCF's facility. As usual, UCF did their facility on the cheap and came out looking cheap. We are doing it the right way. Good work DW.

  16. I drove by campus on Sunday, and it appears that they are removing the basketball hoops from the public basketball courts right outside of the Track Stadium, which is where the Indoor Facility is supposed to be built. Anyone have any info as to whether the removal of the hoops are an indication that they are moving along with the Indoor Facility?
  17. I will also be a first time basketball season ticket holder. WIll be in the end court section. Went to almost all of the games as an undergrad. The fact that the Bulls Club donation you pay for football season tickets covers both football and basketball is quite a deal, and was pretty much the deal breaker for me. Dont think I could afford two $250 donations plus seat costs for both sports.
  18. A couple of weeks ago they had little flags on the ground, probably to map our piping, but were not there the other day.
  19. Cant wait to see renderings of this new facility. Really happy to see the Golf program has a major donor. USF over the last few years has been quitely improving The Claw, so this will be great.
  20. Glad to see tings are still getting done with this interim commish. Hey, $5 million is $5 million, so why not go after it.
  21. I see Holtz using Murray and Lamar in tandem. Bring in Lamar for speed and specialty plays. Would really like to see them open up the playbook and use some wildcat formation. We finally have the right players ready for that.
  22. Looks like USF housing has purchased it. I remember a while back housing was talking about purchasing or joining with off campus housing that would make the places "on campus." Nice to see something going up at the Edge
  23. I realize the area they are talking about it in between the massive marking lot to the south of the Library and the Library itself. I was not sure if they are using the grass lot now as extra parking, so I was simply responding to his question. Thats the perfect place to put a park to improve campus aesthetics.
  24. Win a Big East championship, and we wont be having to play these types of games on the road.
