  1. the SEC & B1G are the only leagues that matter. everything else is B tier or lower.
  2. small victories but… USF already has UF/FSU to recruit against, a NC berth/win for either/both FAU/MIA would have only given MBB more competition recruiting. FAU especially… so many small brand Florida schools have had notable seasons in revenue sports the past several years— UCF’s football run, FGCU’s Sweet 16 run, now FAU’s Final Four— USF can’t help but look like the bottom of the barrel when it comes to NCAA revenue sports in Florida. thank the Bull gods for Elena Tsineke & the WBB team keeping USF from completely fading to obscurity but men’s revenue sports needs a turnaround ASAP. a little over a decade ago we were on the precipice of making Florida a 4-team state. in a matter of only a few years UCF lapped us & left for P5 expansion while FAU just made a Final Four run. (UConn was going to beat whoever won today, but in the hypothetical…) an FAU National Championship would have been some pretty tough salt to rub in the gaping, hemorrhaging wound that is USF revenue sports.
  3. i have 2 questions/comments: 1) WTF has SMU done that makes them so attractive to the Big 12 or Pac-? A few years ago they were in a ****** mid-major and “moved up” to the somewhat less ****** mid-major they currently share with us after we moved down & out of a BCS (read: “Power”) Conference? it’s gotta be something off the field cuz the product on the field hasn’t been consistently good the way Boise, Houston or even UCF have been? 2) why does ANY of this even matter if the SEC & BIG10+ are the only conferences worth a squirt? if USC & UCLA head to the B10+ and both the SEC & B10+ eventually move from 16 to 20 teams, that makes 2 conferences and 40 teams worth a **** & 80+ teams in a bunch of random conferences that nobody cares about. at that point if it’s two 16+ team Power Conferences making it into the B12 or ACC or PAC is little more than a superficial consolation prize cuz those conferences will simply be the new mid-majors. RIGHT NOW every single Bulls fan would eagerly jump at the chance to be a replacement for FSU or Clemson in the ACC, but who would actually GAF about *THAT* ACC? who is really going to GAF about the Big12 in a year & a half when UT & OU are gone? it’s like trying to stay afloat in a whirlpool that is inevitably going to suck us down the drain anyway. no matter where USF moves we will NEVER be one of the “Big Boys.” that Good Ol’ Boys club is closed. we moved “up” from CUSA to the Big East as the best teams in the BEast fled so despite having “made it” to a BCS “power” conference that conference was NEVER considered part of the club & an undefeated BEast champion ALWAYS lost out to a 1-loss SEC/B10/ACC/PAC/B12 team & would likely not even get in over a 2-loss SEC squad. we were climbing a ladder in quicksand & the quicksand won. Welcome to the AAC. now we’re on the verge of more expansions hoping & praying to be the best of the rest that gets invited to a gutted B12 or PAC or (eventually) ACC, only to have those 3 conferences booted from the P5 in favor of a P2. this cycle is never going to change short of a complete overhaul of CFB as we know it, & there is too much old money involved for that to ever happen. so why do we care at this point? just play football & win the games on the schedule. all this effort just to impress people that will never even look in our direction
  4. i bought the engagement ring, that doesnt mean ive proposed yet. thats what the jersey is for… although if anyone has connections to get me into the Rocky costume i think the proposal might be an even bigger success!
  5. Need one ASAP to go with this engagement ring i just bought her lol
  6. bruh, the Big XII is ass. is it better than the AAC? sure. it’s technically a “P5” conference… in the same way the post-Miami/VTech Big East was technically a BCS conference. but just like the USF-era Big East was the redheaded stepchild of “Power Conference” football, the Big XII after Oklahoma & Texas leave will be the ginger stepchild of “Power Conference” football with the Pac-12 not too far behind. when Baylor is your best school & Saturdays are filled with the familiar sight of Cincinnati playing Houston, Big XII football will be worthless as anything more than a stepping stone. it already pretty much is. no Big XII team has won a championship since Texas in 2005 (remember when TAMU & Mizzou were in the conference?) no Big XII team has even made a championship game in nearly a decade & a half. the only conferences that matter are the SEC, the SEC, the SEC, the BIG10 & a few of the Southeastern schools in the ACC. the rest is just a layercake of ****. so what if the Big XII is a layer or two above the AAC in that shitcake? its still no closer to the SEC, which is all that will matter in the end.
  7. wtf was that? with ~3:00 on the clock 3 predictable runs up the gut was so terrible they had to be throwing this game
  8. i need to get tickets. i dont remember my last game… its been so long. maybe i’ll take my kid to his first game.
  9. good enough for me. as long as youve never called plays as a college football coach, youre qualified!
  10. the most famous of all Bulls, to be sure. Horns Up, Brother Bull Gallagher!
  11. if Da ‘Shaft is *STILL* bumsore over what SHE did to Leavitt 15 years ago to the point of withholding donations to the University or USF athletics then she’s not the woman USF alum remember. as a former STUDENT I think of Judy as a top notch academic administrator who improved not just the quality of my education but the VALUE of my degree from the University of South Florida. looking back the only negative I can remember from my time there as a student & subsequent season ticket holder was her firing of CJL— a firing which had more support than it should (from myself as well, sadly) have because TBH it was REALLY just a bogus cover for dumping a coach who couldn’t quite get to 10 wins. it would be the height of pettiness for her to hold a grudge against Jim 15 years later when she wasn’t even the alleged “victim” of the so-called incident. i hope Judy is better than that.
  12. someone said “cultural change” & USF athletics needs it from the top down. The Jim *is* USF culture.
  13. oh my god Gretchen stop trying to make war flamingo a thing. War flamingo is not a thing!
  14. the Leavitt firing wasnt met with more resistance *at the time* because the minority who believed the lame “slap” story as told by USF were backed by an even greater number of fans who thought it was time for something new because Leavitt “wasnt getting us over the hump” after topping out at 9 wins & seeming to plateau. but now we keep this clownshoe on the sideline who will probably *never* win 9 games as an HC at the FBS level & nobody can give even the most basic of reasons why. at this point why are athletes transferring to USF? what does it accomplish for them? theyre not winning & i be damned if i can tell what theyre learning from this coaching staff. i feel bad for these student athletes giving up their bodies to be told to by a Tulane team that is actually making a run at the AAC before we are.
  15. thats not what i asked. i asked what is the POINT in keeping him around. then USF should shutter the program.
