CJS needs to never defer when he wins the toss. this team’s offense is clearly leagues ahead of the defense. if we want to have a chance at beating teams that are better than us we need to make our opponents change their game plan. our defense can’t do that but Timmy coming out & leading a scoring drive CAN. everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth, this offense needs to lead the team every game until the defense improves.

so they DO have a 2 minute drill. where is that Football For Dummies book?

this game is irrelevant if u don’t win. u lose, it was expected & it doesn’t affect conference standing, Conference championships being all we can realistically expect compete for at this stage of rebuild. you’re down 28-6, u have to TRY to get something otherwise you’re not trying to win. if this were a competitive AAC game I might think different, but not a blowout by a ranked BYU

well we have a QB… and we definitely have a kicker. there were years we didn’t even have a guy who could kick extra points.

McClain really needs to learn when to break the pocket & when to hang in there. that’s on coaching & it’s on him. True Frosh has time to learn. that’s what the AAC schedule is for. the skill level is not so lopsided. if McClain is our future CJS is going to have to figure out how to recruit an OLine that can move with him.

idk what it is but we’re 2-2 on coaches & if I were to bet on CJS I’m not sure I’m riding money on him… but it’s still only year 2 & he appears to already have the prototypical USF QB on the team. the question is whether CJS can put the right talent around him. there’s something unique about coaching at USF that a couple of our past coaches just didn’t get at all, 1 guy barely & reluctantly understood only because his QB was the best player ever to wear Green & Gold & had the balls to demand a change on offense, and that 1 coach who completely embodied the heart & soul of this program & understood the ins & outs of recruiting the talent available to USF but got unceremoniously shitcanned due to politics. between last year’s CoVid disrupted season & this season’s incredibly tough early schedule i don’t know enough to call it with CJS… there are a lot of reasons to be concerned, but year 2 of a new coach’s tenure is just too early. he is on schedule with clearing out the roster, now he needs to work on depth… thank god he has a QB

McClain is a talented kid. CJS has no excuse not to put a team around this kid. there is plenty of talent in Florida. it makes zero sense that CJL & CWT have been the only coaches in this program’s history to figure out how to make a team out of Florida’s 2nd & 3rd tier talent & boy it took Willie a minute to figure it out. I really hope CJS can figure out what he’s doing.
