They cheated there way to their current record. They are having a better year as a result of said cheating. They have overextended financial for a lot of those other things you mentioned - just to get where we already are.

I do not think it is that simple. A lot of what goes into rankings is perception of one's body of work. It remains to be seen whether having a conference game screws an Alabama and allows an Oklahoma to take its place. In an ambiguous situation, someone will get screwed, or feel as if they are getting screwed - thus upsetting the apple cart. I am not saying this guy is not right about his information. It sounds like he is spot on about our chances of getting in the B12 in the near future.

I think both sides of this debate have solid points. I think we all should be cautiously optimistic - I know I am. This could be his high water mark (like Eveld at Miami) but I thoughy I saw a bit more.

That and the FAU game will forever mark a low point for this program - hopefully. In a couple of years I would like to look at that/this time as a cathartic phase following the Skip era.

The way the Bench experiment ended was no surprise to me. He is a good back up and game manager. Hopefully White has the goods.

Hurt his confidence? These guys are not China dolls. He was successful in high school. He will be ok. Try not to over think things its impacting your grammar.

I am not sure where you are coming from with this. These guys play the games on TV and stuff. It is clear to everyone that we are depleted in certain positions and that the prior regime left the cupboard bare. This was always going to be a rebuilding year and those are never pretty. Positives I see are: the defense has come to life again. Special teams have never been better that I can recall. The running game (non QB) was actually a threat for the first time since Andre Hall. The tight ends are actually getting balls thrown their way. Recruiting impresses and is one of his main focuses. We are struggling at pass blocking, QB position and WR as far as I can tell. If you can't see that and what he is building here you might never see it.

There is no statement. He has four players in a position and the other three are not cutting it or are injured but it makes sense to play Mike. This helps if the kid is actually pretty good. If he stinks we are no worse off - consider that. If he is the QB of the future he will get meaningful playing time even if he stinks now he might learn something for later. It helps in recruiting QB's. If you are a QB and want to play next year and Mike stinks you have to like your chances. Even if he is good he could get hurt and you are in. Helps recruiting other positions for same reason as above. Willie will play you early. There is also a small chance, so small I am dismissing it, that he is good enough to score a touchdown once in a while on offense. The other side of the argument is that in four years (or so) our awesome QB will graduate? Mike was Willie's very first commit. I like to see how he does in that regard in the next three years before I second guess this move.
