  1. It's actually pretty hard to find one. S&C coaches spend more time with your athletes than any other coach and are in charge of their physical development. Good head coaches hang on to good S&C at all costs. Hopefully there's a good assistant strength coach at Clemson that is looking for his shot to run his own program.
  2. Loooove the assistants pool and the friendly looking buy out (hopefully there isn't something crazy with the foundation). Overall this a good deal for USF. MK killed this coaching search. No substantial leaks, exciting hire that is good on paper, and a good contract to boot. Somebody buy MK a beer
  3. I would be shocked if anyone but King and The football alum analysts and GA's stay on. This thing needs a full reset but Scott comes from the Clemson who likes to build from within so there could be a few hold overs. Definitely nobody above a positional coach role though
  4. If he can keep the two we have verbals from he'll have two talented kids to develop and if hey can get Brice as a grad transfer that would be make a nice QB rooms for next season
  5. Yessss!!!! We need this and a robo goat throwback uniform
  6. Make sure you buy the web domain too, before Randy does....
  7. Early signing day is the 18th and we have a big recruiting weekend this weekend. If he can come in and lock up the class this weekend we should be ok. These days the vast majority of recruiting is done by early signing day. Also the holiday dead period is approaching as well.
  8. Elliot and Scott were my 1a and 1b coming into the search but I thought they were off the board so this would be a great hire. Great job by MK keeping his cards to his vest and getting what was probably his #1 or #2 guy
  9. This is where I was at coming into the search. However, there's chatter the Clemson guys aren't interested/are connected to better jobs, Spurrier is just trying to to set up Jr who isn't proven enough to be a HC, Drinkwitz is in play for 2 SEC Jobs, Napier hasn't been connected at all, Bell is a non-starter, Larry Scott is a Meh hire to me, CWT wants the job job but the feeling isn't mutual, and what's left is CJL. From the options that I can divine that are left CJL is the best option.
  10. I like Scott but I his tenure as OC at UT makes him a heard not for me.
  11. I hope he gets it. He's by all reports a great guy and not everyone is cut out to be a HC. I think he would be a great hire especially because he'll get to recruit without head coach restrictions.
  12. Thought you were already the Pope of the Church of CJL
  13. They'll spin it as "there's a difference between being supervised by a HC As DC and being a head coach, especially when he's returning to the scene of the crime" They'll also play it up as USF being desperate and making a deal with the devil
  14. Let's all send out some prayers, good vibes, etc for the BOT to be receptive to bringing back CJL on this Sunday. Nobody would work harder for this University and what happened on that day in 09 is muddy at best. It's time to bring dad home. Let's will this thing into existence fellas. Let us pray!
  15. Can anyone else think of a time a program brought back a coach that failed first go around? If he failed again you might as well take the program behind the shed and put it out of its misery.
  16. He had a great eye for talent and moving kids to positions where they would flourish
  17. He's who I want too but his name has been linked to the Dallas Cowboys of all places. That kind of chatter leads me to believe he's eyeing jobs above our "tier"
  18. And malcontent Erskin (one of McMustache's moles) was right there to help the kid "fight back".
