  1. Man, god bless you, my friend. you are tireless for the cause. You and some of the other stalwarts (the "old timers" without meaning that offensively) can't be thanked enough for your grassroots tree shaking. Keep up the good work, amigo.
  2. Go home, Billy Bob, go play on the cement in Orlando....
  3. And the crowning quote from Woolard, "Our fans deserve these types of home and series with BCS opponents and are important for our football program as well,†..........talking about the MSU and Indiana series' and NOT the UCF forced wedding.
  4. For what it's worth, I do like Woolard not capitulating on this and accepting the insanity as his punishment for leaving the minor leagues. After this silly move, we're home free to leave these monomanical little leaguers...with no offense meant to little leaguers.
  5. correct which is why i said only capko's name in my post...some people just can't read Some people just look for any way to get a jab in at Mac... Or any foolhardy attempt to defend him.
  6. this coming from the boy who would leave basketball games booing the team...i met capko a bunch of times, he is a nice guy and appeciates the fan support.  he took time after the last game of the series to come over and chill for a bit, he said this is the year, i have a feeling he is right Who took time after the last game to chill a bit, Mac, on his soapbox in the green and gold room?
  7. You mean once every two years, right?   8-) Mea culpa, happy hour started early here....reminds me of the old joke re: the gators, "the only way I can have a better weekend than when the gators lose is if they played a doubleheader...."...wishful thinking on my part, i guess.
  8. Go conspire on how to turn us into the NCAA. Seriously if you read the link you are right and it states it goes to scholarships.  I imagine this is more of an ALumni drive to remind members to get their plates, sort of a way to continually find small ways to help the University.  Always looking for little ways like this that don't take dollars to help out. Apologize...I didn't see, let alone read the link the first go around. That's why I asked my question. Surprised you didn't correct the mis-statements of the poster who said it went to the USF Alumni Association? Anyway, no harm, no foul. KL PS. I think its great that the USF Alumni Association is pushing for more plate sales. They are obviously embarrassed that anoter state school that is not as old as USF and has tens of thousands of LESS Alumni...has about 1/3 more license plate sales than USF. : (Just kidding!) 2005 Total License Plate Sales: USF:  8,817 UCF: 11,817 http://www.hsmv.state.fl.us/specialtytags/tagsales2005.pdf Go back to your own board, Billy Bob. This is a USF board, we really don't give a **** about the ftu/ou/oc spin to every topic. Honest, we just don't care. G O B A C K T O T H E T R A I L E R, Bubba.
  9. Great, we can kick his ass in front of his brother twice a year, then. Life goes on.
  10. ludicrous statement by one who claims usf is talent poor. nostradamus-esque, actually. give the kid a chance...
  11. gay-tor,i believe, to run track, too. had fastest 100m time in the nation for hs kids this summer,i believe.
  12. ........ahh, glass is always half full , isn't it....
  13. on an completely unrelated topic, Snarling Bull should get some type of award for the best logo name...the flashing USF rocks. nice work!
  14. Thanks but no one cares about your opinion. Go back to the UCF board and start a poll on tailgating safety and underage drinking. Now I am all for bashing UCF fans when they come on talking about joining the SEC in 2008 or some other nonsense, but this seemed like a pretty reasonable post.  Just my opinion, but as long as UCF fans are courteous and respectful on these boards we USF fans should return the same. Not sure how I could have been more polite, my point was simply, we're talking about OUR stadium and protocol, votes from visitors (from UCF, Notre Dame, or Tennessee, for that matter) don't matter - they don't understand our core fans, our local market, or our culture. In the case of ftu/ou/oc, if they have so much time to be so thorough about what we need to do right, they should look under their own noses and deal with their own issues.
  15. That blows. Consider yourself next in line for some good fortune, you can even jump in line ahead of me. Keep the faith.
  16. Thanks but no one cares about your opinion. Go back to the UCF board and start a poll on tailgating safety and underage drinking.
  17. Good topic here..my two cents' worth. 1. paul porter has to go. i'm not sure if he was at any or all of the games last year, but whenever we've brought a non-Bulls guest, they're appalled by his amateur-ish attempts at whipping up the fans. It makes the NCState clown at the bowl look like Peter Alliss. 2. Tailgating hours seem fine (at least 3 hours, i think), but the decorum patrol need to lighten up. likely they're TSA mandated, but some of the tailgating rules are pretty draconian - no football tossing, etc. I know it's a litigious world we live in, but really.... 3. The loud rock and roll is seldom, if ever, heard in college venues i've been to - mostly midwest/big 10/notre dame - and the band playing the hell out of the olllllld alma mater or whatever else they want to, notwithstanding any acoustics issues whatsover, is part of the college football genre. period. 4. re: midfield seats not being used, some teams i follow allow them to be "traded in"/resold if not used, for a credit towards next year if resold. this might help fill the seats in the TV-critical sections of the field. All in all, though, RJ seems excellent to me. seems that an OCS is great for the alums like us, but if you're pitching a recruit, telling them they're playing on a saturday night in a top 20 market on an nfl field in a bcs conference, seems pretty hard to beat....
  18. I think the late night polling is really indicative of 2 phenomenon: 1. UCF graduates don't have good day-time jobs they need to get up for, but rather, either fast-food day time jobs or night-time jobs in the food and beverage/hotel labor camp, er, industry. 2. USF graduates spend their late night hours more productively stuffing other things, such as laying pipe, rather than internet ballot boxes.
  19. This stuff happens everywhere, you can't legislate idiots giving or taking money. Prisons are full of them... My personal favorite was a buddy who went to SMU back in the Pony-Express Days (i.e. pre-death penalty). His job, for $30 an hour, because it necessitated use of his engineering major, was to make sure that the water pressure in the University's swimming pools did get too high and cause all the water to blow-up out of the pool. To accomplish this dangerous task, he was forced to lay by the pool all day in the summers.....
  20. The name is familiar but not the story. Why did this guy leave?
  21. It's not how you start it's how you finish......
  22. Listen here, Bobby Jo, how in the world can you play this card WHEN A COP WAS KILLED IN YOUR PARKING LOT AT ONE OF YOUR HOME GAMES??!!! Isn't it time to pick up your sister from high school and head off to the lake? Uh nojo, the cop was sadly killed in a parking lot of the Citrus Bowl which is in NO WAY affiliated with the University of Central Florida. Push away from the fryer grease a little faster, Bubba Jo, apparently it's melting your ear wax and causing what's left of the brains your mama/sister bestowed on you....read on (or ask some USF neighbor you may have - s/he'd be the one in the nicer house up the hill - to read to you).  CLEARLY, this death was in no way affiliated with Florida Tech University/ Orlando U/ Orlando College...UCF Officer Mistakenly Shot And Killed By Orlando Police  Posted on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 - 09:42 PM ORLANDO, Fla. -- A University of Central Florida police officer was shot to death by an Orlando police officer outside the Citrus Bowl as fans were arriving for a college football game Saturday, authorities said. Dennis Smith, a reserve officer for the Orlando Police Department who had retired after 25 years on the force, was put on administrative leave after shooting Mario Jenkins before the University of Central Florida's football home opener.
  23. "Listen, trust me, we were kicking their butts so bad, I had PLENTY of time to scope the sidelines, and I"M TELLING YOU, every ass on all the UCF cheerleaders was AT LEAST THIS BIG!!!"
  24. Lighten up, John Boy, just grab your sister, head down to the ol' shade tree on that beautiful ftu/ou/oc campus with your bottle of Boone's Farm in one hand, your sister's jeans in the other and just relax, like the good old days back in the farm in Clewiston.....
