  1. I believe he's also on the Board of Trustees at FSU. Could be mistaken though.
  2. Miami wasn't a powerhouse when he took over. Coker started turning them into what they are today. Maybe we're in the Coker era. Both look lost on the sidelines.
  3. Kragholtz has neutered the program in a little over 2 years. I was initially on board with the hire. However, what infuriates me is that our AD gave this clown a contract extension after a 5-7 season. Unlike other programs, we don't have the resources to cut him loose after this season and bring in a proven coach. So unfortunately, we're going to be stuck with him for the foreseeable future. For the sake of the program, I hope he can right the ship, however I don't see that happening.
  4. Gotta try something. So far, the run game has been awful. This offense doesn't stand a chance to be productive without a consistent run game.
  5. Let's start with a BE home game. Only 1 so far in the Holtz new era.
  6. The thought of listening to their band play the war chant while we get waxed in our stadium makes me queasy!
  7. Holtz just said in his press conference that BJ played a great game. Does he watch the same game we do? He is in way over his head. We are being Kragholtzed to death!
  8. I waited to hear Skip's press conference before I made my prediction. After hearing him say "BJ played a great game", I heard all I needed to hear. Balls Tate 31-24 Daniels Davis 389
  9. I walk in with two water bottles in my back pockets every game. Just wear a hat and the TSA folk are so worried about the bomb in your hat that they don't check your back pockets. (I really don't get why they check everyone's hats so intently) How hilarious. I do the same thing except with beer.
  10. what is mental about telling a 6'6" TE to catch a jump ball over a 5'10"corner? Maybe he has trouble with the route. Exactly... it's the route running that's the issue. Also, he's not very good at making adjustments when catching the ball. from inside the 5 yard line when they took him out to put dunkley in? you could draw his route with a stick in the dirt. any 10 year old could understand that.what adjustment do you need to make to out jump a 5'10" corner?they can't simplify his package and just use him inside the 10?give him 3 routes. the guy is a matchup nightmare. what about shields? he used to be deadly the few times we threw to him down the seam over linebackers. we don't use TEs at all. again I don't consider Landi a TE. he is a WR. what happened to the H-back? might be nice to have an extra blocker back there since our o-line doesn't get the job done. remember the kid Holtz brought with him from ecu?? we don't even field the position anymore. At fan fest, I specifically asked the TEs if they're going to get thrown to more this year and they all said yes. They said they were getting a lot of balls in practice. Who know what's going on inside this team.
  11. That sounds about right. If we lose, this board will be worse than Chernobyl.
  12. This game will be a lot closer than most people think. It's probably a toss up.
  13. I like Skippy Kragholtz myself. Coined originally by El_Toro in November of last year and I jumped on that name after he had first used it. It's definitely catchy and if Skip Holtz doesn't get his and his staff's act together, it will be his nom de guerre for many years to come. Thanks hbryan. I hope I'm wrong on this one, but I see a lot of similarities between Holtz and Kragthorpe. Nice guys, both came form CUSA, where each had some success, both played boring conservative football and both had a lot of home losses and a disillusioned fan base. Neither were ready to win at the BCS level. We don't have the resources of the Ville, so if a change needs to be made I hope they don't wait too long or we may end up in a black hole that we can't recover from.
  14. Which is it, will the game be like the Chattanooga game, or will the game be in doubt in the fourth quarter? The Chattanooga game was never in doubt, and certainly not at any point in the second half. Just because the team didn't win by 70 doesn't mean the outcome was ever in question. In reality, the UTC game was probably not in doubt. However, my point wast that because of the stupid interception before the half (like many others in the BJD era) and not being able to run the ball that well we were not able to build a comfortable enough lead to put in the backups until there was a few minutes left in the game. That's how I see this playing out. 35-24 USF
  15. I see this game unfolding like UTC. We will get out to a lead and make some stupid mistakes and Ball St will hang around and this game will be in doubt in to the 4th quarter. Bulls will win in the end not because of better coaching but because we have better athletes. Unfortunately this game will not allow us to get any meaningful reps for the backups. Past behavior is predictive of future performance.
  16. This defense lacks physicality. They're too soft. I believe it has to do with the offensive system we run. The offense is some version of the spread....not sure even what to call it. So our defense never practices against a smash mouth NFL style offense, like Rutgers, Pitt, Ucon, Miami of years past, etc. In practice they never learn to be physical, instead we rely on our speed, and we don't have enough talent to overcome it. When we play teams like this we always struggle. CJL teams were more physical because they played with passion, albeit some times very undisclipined. This defense plays like its coach, soft and conservative. Holtz needs to get some coaches in here from the NFL to learn how to be more physical.
