  1. Why can't we hire him and let him finish his degree at USF as part of his terms of employment. USF graduate and coach - great creative please!!
  2. With Brett Hundley the QB this upcoming season and Josh Rosen coming in, Woulard might never see the field... He might be giving Willie a call soon. http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1622552 BELLFLOWER, Calif. -- Josh Rosen committed to UCLA on Thursday setting up storylines usually dreamed up by Hollywood screenwriters. If commitments stick, Rosen, the top-rated pro-style quarterback and No. 2 prospect by Rivals.com, will be playing for the Bruins at the same time Ricky Town, the No. 2 pro-style quarterback and eighth-best recruit, is across town playing for rival USC. "A lot went into the decision," Rosen said. "I just had to know I'm not going somewhere just to play football, I'm going to a university -- a school -- for the next four years of my life," Rosen said. "Ultimately, I felt UCLA was the right decision for me. ... I'm definitely going to UCLA." - See more at: http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1622552#sthash.pPfxO8mI.dpuf

  5. http://www.usforacle.com/usf-confirms-six-early-enrollees-1.2854307#.UvEeULTjF6Q USF confirms six early enrollees By Mike Mallory, ASST. SPORTS EDITOR Published: Tuesday, February 4, 2014 Updated: Tuesday, February 4, 2014 09:02 Share on email In anticipation of National Signing Day on Wednesday, USF confirmed six members of the Bulls’ 2014 football recruiting class are enrolled for this semester and are on campus. USF coach Willie Taggart snagged commitments from three freshmen early enrollees who graduated high school in December, just in time to hit campus this spring. The three early freshmen enrollees include East Lake High School grad Devin Abraham, a 5-foot-9, 175-pound cornerback from Tarpon Springs; Deatrick Nichols, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound cornerback from Miami Central High School and Eric Mayes, a 6-foot-5, 240-pound defensive end from Booker High School in Sarasota. Abraham is a three-star recruit according to rivals.com and son of, Donnie Abraham former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Jets cornerback. Nichols also garnered a three-star rating from Rivals, while Mayes earned three-stars from Rivals and a four-star ranking from ESPN during his time at Milford Academy, a private football school in New Berlin, N.Y. With early commitment, the three USF freshmen get acclimated to college life ahead of their other freshmen teammates entering during the summer or fall semesters. Early enrollees also get accustomed to strength and conditioning at the collegiate level in preparation for spring football practice, something that summer or fall enrollees don’t get to experience. In addition to the three freshmen, USF already has three new juniors on campus that came from junior colleges across the country. Jamie Byrd is a 5-foot-11, 190-pound defensive back from Dade City who graduated from Pasco High School and committed to TCU out of high school, before transferring to Iowa Western Community College. According to a Twitter message sent to the Tampa Bay Times in January 2013, Byrd transferred from TCU to Iowa Western CC because he didn’t see eye-to-eye with a new position coach and the defensive scheme didn’t fit him well. Byrd orally committed to Arizona in August, but evidently decided to return home and attend USF. He will be a redshirt junior after sitting out the 2011 season and suiting up for 13 games in 2012 at TCU, where he had one tackle. He then played in 12 games in 2013 at Iowa Western and collected 54 tackles and two interceptions en route to earning the No. 2 junior college safety ranking according to 247sports.com. Demetrius Hill, who verbally committed to Indiana in 2012, is a 6-foot-3, 255-pound defensive end from Kankakee, Ill. and Fort Scott Community College in Kansas. He collected 61 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, six sacks, three forced fumbles and a blocked punt in 2013 before earning the No. 6 junior college weakside defensive end ranking on 247sports.com. Mayes and Hill are figured to be in the mix for playing time with the loss of senior defensive ends Ryne Giddins, Julius Forte, and Tevin Mims, along with the departure of redshirt sophomore Aaron Lynch to the NFL Draft. The addition of Mayes and Hill help USF replace its top four defensive ends from 2013. Rounding out the group is Marlon Pope, a 6-foot-4, 265-pound tight end from Hattiesburg, Miss. via Hattiesburg High School and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College who earned the eighth spot on 247sports.com’s junior college tight end rankings.
  6. Notre Dame announces $400 million renovation for stadium http://coachingsearch.com/article?a=Photo-Notre-Dame-announces-400-million-renovation-for-stadium We just need $120M for a 40K new stadium.
  7. UCF to the Big12 and USF is not. Doug, your fired!!
  8. USF needs to make some news and it will be covered!! What has been our big news worthy athletic accomplishment the past two years? We have knocked off a bunch of top 25 teams - not.
  9. Texas AM - $450M upgrade!! http://college-football.si.com/2013/11/13/texas-am-kyle-field-renovations/
  10. Cincinnati is spending $86M just to upgrade their stadium and they have a similar athletic budget to USF. For another $40M USF could have a nice 45K OCS. If USF really wants to build a stadium they can pull it off. http://www.gobearcats.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/100313aac.html CINCINNATI – Proposed additions to the University of Cincinnati’s Nippert Stadium are a step closer to reality following the release of new renderings and floor plans for the Nippert Stadium Renovation & Expansion, director of athletics Whit Babcock announced Thursday. Construction on the $86-millon, privately funded project, is scheduled to begin in mid-December 2013 and be completed in August of 2015.

  12. I'm not sure if you can read too much into this but recently USF made a change to their 10 year building plan and moved the future Sundome parking garage from the south location to west of the Sundome. Also, USF recently stated that the tennis complex will stay at its currently location and be upgraded. The combination of these two moves indicates that an on campus stadium is being planned south of the Sundome. There are only two reasonable locations for a OCS (near the tennis courts or south of the Sundome - Fowler Field). Woolard can keep a secret with the best of them so I would not be surprised if there are real conversations happening behind the scenes regarding an OCS. One can only hope but it would be nice to celebrate 20 years of USF football in our new stadium.
  13. I agree. Pick out a location with a preliminary design then start a fund raising campaign to create the excitement. The OCS at UCF changed their school dramatically and it could have the same positive effect at USF and we would finally shed our commuter school image. With the planned redevelopment of the Andros dorm complex (retail and new dorms) in combination with an OCS could be something special if done correctly. I would like to see the stadium where the tennis courts are currently located (near dorms) but logistically it would be better situated south of the Sundome. This could be a 3, 4, 5 year fundraising effort so its a plan for the future which could be separated from today's university financial situation. Currently the university is trying to increase its cash reserves as they became depleted during the recession with the big cuts in state funding. It might be politically incorrect to announce an OCS today when academic programs are being cut and professors are being laid off but if its a several years out so it could be announced today in my opinion. Who knows Woolard on this board personally? Please walk into his office and express how the alumni and students feel about an OCS!!! Its time - lets make it happen!!
  14. This could really transform the area - it has been in the works for a long time and sounds like this project might finally be getting off the ground. This along with an on campus football stadium would make the USF campus residential experience a ton better. http://www.usforacle.com/scene-heard/committee-expected-to-discuss-prospective-housing-changes-1.2846504#.UoI2PeKQMtE Committee expected to discuss prospective housing changes By Divya Kumar, EDITOR IN CHIEF Published: Tuesday, November 12, 2013 The Andros complex could see a makeover into a “village,†including 2,500 new beds, “appropriate retail, dining, parking, recreational and other attractive student amenities on three possible sites,†according to agenda documents from a recent Board of Trustee workgroup meeting. A selection committee is expected to make an offer to one of three advisory firms early this month to steer the Student Housing Redevelopment Project. The agenda document said the project will be “phased … to maintain current minimum levels of student housing and increase housing incrementally based on demonstrated absorption potential, alignment with enrollment planning and demand from targeted students for new housing.†According to the 2012-13 University Audit and Compliance report, the 2012 fiscal year saw a decrease in operating income for Housing and Residential Education “of approximately $367,000 over prior year due to a decrease in total student headcount and the resulting number of student residents.†The agenda document said the project is “expected to increase the number of students living on campus, increase the number of out of market and foreign students and support the University’s credit position, which is expected to provide a substantial positive financial impact.†USF St. Pete is also in talks over purchasing a 10,000-square-foot building owned by Gulfcoast Legal Services
  15. Lets do it!!! Get better every week and roll into next year with confidence.

  17. Swap Eveld for Bridewater in the game and USF wins. A QB who can complete passes on 3rd down and make the offense move makes all the difference in football. USF is a good QB away from being decent.

  19. Temple looking to build an on campus stadium: The talk around Temple is that the Owls could have a stadium of their very own in the city of Brotherly Love. Houston has received a lot of press for their new facilities, so a new venue for the Owls might be just what Temple needs as they enter the AAC in 2013. Temple president, Neil Theobald thinks it's a great idea, noting that almost of every program would like to have a stadium right on campus. http://articles.philly.com/2013-08-26/sports/41446173_1_temple-ties-football-stadium-matt-rhule
