  1. You could just as easily look at this the other way around as well -- obviously he doesn't like the program and CWT that much or he wouldn't have changed his mind. he would never have taken or even interviewed for the job if he didn't like the program or CWT. it's amazing, with all the dirtbags involved in college coaching, that our fans are complaining because this guy decided his high school job and players meant so much to him that he couldn't just give up his job. wow. I'm sure you'd much rather he text his players or leave a note in their locker or tell them he was staying only to see his press conference on tv. Dude you are arguing against a straw man. Nobody is complaining that Weiner wants to stay at Plant. Those who are unhappy are complaining because of his backing out after it was publicized and heralded locally.

  3. Story on the front page of http://www.tampabay.com/ Embarrassing.
  4. Ah, I did not understand your initial post. So we're in agreement then - would be a great hire if we could get him but little chance he would actually come.
  5. I think this would be a good move but doubt he would come here -- why do you think it's desperate?
  6. ================= Kudos to Weiner? Are you serious? This has nothing to do with wanting to stay in a secure job... no one would fault him for that. The issue is that you accepted a job, let the school publicly announce it (and no doubt use it as a recruiting pitch), and then backed out. End result is much public embarrassment to the people that offered you the job in the first place. Terribly, terribly unprofessional. -------- This would be the overly dramatic I was talking about. This isn't some horrible thing. Taking the job and quitting in August would be terribly unprofessional. Changing your mind a day or two later isn't really a big deal in the professional world. Agree to disagree then. Make up your mind before the public announcement and subsequent celebration/recruiting pitches. I know I wouldn't extend a job offer to a candidate who publicly embarrassed a prospective employer like this.
  7. I suspect there is probably a reason he hasn't been offered a job, so I wouldn't hold your breath.
  8. ----- Agree to disagree then. In my field if you did something like this publicly, you'd have a hell of a time getting any job offers in the future.
  9. ------- No, he should have taken the issues under consideration before he took the job. This is something a 17 year old waiting tables at a restaurant does, not a "beloved" and "classy" professional.

  11. It would be funny, taking to account that Woulard once had as his profile pic, him stomping on a UF shirt ^ Believe this is the picture you reference...
  12. What would Mike Jenkins do? Lay the pine? Or chase a guy 80 yards down the field to strip the ball from him. You know, the usual.
  13. Woulard's as good as gone. We would do well to turn our attention to recruits who are interested in attending USF.
  14. Just thinking out loud here, but wouldn't he have been a better choice for quarterbacks coach, at least compared to Nick Sheridan? Not knocking the hire since the man worked wonders at Plant and we have talent at WR, but it seems odd. I suspect that he was brought first and foremost for potential recruiting impact. Also, there's nothing stopping him from helping to develop QBs -- don't think the delineations are as bright-lined as some think.
  15. A related question... what sections/rows come with access to the new Arena Club? Hoping to make the most of the one game I'll be able to make this year.
  16. Not how I read the exchange... Badet clearly thinks Asiantii is going USF but is saying HE wants to change schools - see last tweet in the convo.
  17. Part of me thinks we might be better off if the BE just dissolves at this point, to try to force action if another conference would consider taking us. If not, we're basically already back in C-USA or whatever with the "new BE," so going to actual C-USA wouldn't be that big of a downgrade. Fingers still crossed for ACC or B12.
  18. Can't believe no one mentioned the other story that came out of this. Word is that Tuberville was out to dinner with some recruits when his phone rang, got up "to use the bathroom" and went outside to take the call from Cincy, then just left. Without even saying anything to anyone. If true, what an unbelievably classless move. How can this possibly make Cincy fans feel good about this hire?
