It's cost neutral to staying in Tampa. Is this true? Seems really hard to believe given that all the facilities in Tampa are fixed cost. The costs in Tampa are just as fixed as the costs to go to Vero. They've got it down pretty well after 3 years. It's cost neutral to go to Vero. Except re: having the facility already vs. having to rent out a facility, having student housing secured vs. getting hotels, etc... but I'll defer those more knowledgeable.

Don't think anyone thinks they have "schollies to burn" -- AW isn't "burning" a schollie in anyone's book. It's just that he's a boom or bust prospect, and for UCLA, there is very little downside to bringing in a QB with his natural tools if you can do so with minimal effort and just bury him on the depth chart if he doesn't pan out.

Could not agree more with this. They see a kid with an ego, appeal to that ego (no doubt with plenty of empty promises) and voila! It's an easy pitch, so if he doesn't pan out it's no big loss for them, they'll just bury him until he either graduates or transfers.
