Golesh didn’t go all the way to California to have Carter sit for four years behind Brown. I’m betting he’s Golesh’s guy. Nothing wrong with that. I like Brown a lot, but Carter looks pretty dynamic, too. If that scenario is the case, he starts Bohanon this year.

If he starts Bohanon, expect Brown to transfer and Izzy Carter to be our QB in 2024.

After this season, she’s apparently going to be the coach of the Tampa team in a new league called the USL. And when the league folds in a year or two, maybe we can hire her back. If they do as well with the design and construction of the OCS as they did with this IPF, we’re going to have some of the best facilities in the country. The YC is an excellent facility and so is Muma. Baseball and softball could use some more bells and whistles, but the infrastructure is nice. With the school’s academic profile added on top, the coaches will have everything they need to sell their programs. No more excuses. Let’s go!

Not to completely beat a dead horse on this subject, but . . . here’s a wonderful example of my main issue with this guy’s work. I know many think that he/they provide primarily negative reporting. I guess a case can be made for that, but to me the primary issue is lazy reporting. What has he told us here? He basically took our roster, counted to 13 and threw it back up on his keyboard. If I was this guy’s editor, I would have said: “Take this **** back and give us some perspective. Call Rothstein, Greenberg or whoever and ask them to evaluate the roster makeover.” His audience is people who follow USF hoops and he gave us nothing we didn’t already know. Lazy effort. On film, it would be tough to argue that this isn’t the best-looking big man we’ve seen USF bring in. Much more athletic than Gus Gilchrist. Maybe Victor Rudd?

If he has his head on and applies himself, I think we’ll be talking a lot about Malique Ewin. If you go look up his high school films, you’ll see a freakish athlete - a 6-9 big who has a guard’s handle in the open court. Coach needs to get Ewin and Corey Walker to play consistently to their talent level. If that happens, we’ll have something to discuss.

There’s already a precedent for this. When we had our three glory years - 1989-1992 - average attendance was growing annually. In 1991-92 it topped 7,100 per game. If we had kept that going, tickets at the Sun Dome would have reached a premium. And we weren’t playing in the Big East or the ACC. That was Sun Belt/Metro Conference days. Just win.

Back when the Freak actually loved USF. I totally bow my head to Brad for keepin’ on. He deserves a statue - even before The Jim.
