  1. And we’ll be watching for this one tomorrow - unless he’s the guy and gave the staff his word today:
  2. No name that I’ve seen yet, but guys on campus today and Coach Go tweeted out his typical “Let’s go!” when someone comes on board.
  3. If Golesh et al can bring us a decent year in 2023 and another step forward in 2024 - and we put shovels in the ground for the stadium - we’ll be on EVERY expansion list in the media. My hope is that it’s in whatever form there is of the ACC. Even if a group jumps - when a group jumps - it’ll still be our most attractive option.
  4. Agreed. Only a matter of time. And we don’t have to be world beaters, just competitive and show we’re serious (see: stadium). The growing Tampa Bay market will take care of the rest.
  5. The Big 12 is obviously making a lot of noise, but their reality is that they are losing their TWO MOST VALUABLE PROPERTIES - Texas and Oklahoma - and Houston, Cincy, BYU, Colorado and Oviedo CC combined can’t come close to making up for that.
  6. It’s not a matter of if Florida State (and others) is leaving, it’s when. The ACC has to realize that. Quite honestly, the American, by adding 6 members, did exactly what you’re alluding to. Aresco even said they were not originally looking at Charlotte and FAU and going to 14 teams, but they added them to make it easier on the league (numbers-wise) to move forward when the next poaching happens.
  7. Nonsense. It’s a flavor of the month story with expansion. Just because Tulane had a good year last year, they’re in the mix? Not likely. If we can right the ship and start winning some games, the Tampa Bay market will take over. It may take longer than we’d like, but we’ll have a seat. And let’s not fool ourselves into thinking we’re competing for a natty. That’s not happening for 90% of the schools already in the “power” leagues. There are only a handful of schools who fit that profile.
  8. I look at this from my own purely selfish fan perspective. If that’s our ACC, I’m all in. I’ll travel up and down the east coast every weekend when I retire and enjoy every minute of it for as long as I have.
  9. Fact. They do appear clueless and bent on their own destruction.
  10. Eh, SDSU is a better program than Colorado. The PAC should hold a press conference tomorrow and add the Aztecs.
  11. Oviedo CC can go play Texas Tech and Iowa State. I’d rather be in the stands at Georgia Tech and Duke.
  12. If the ACC just sits there and doesn’t make some move, they’ll join the PAC in being torn apart as soon as it’s possible. What a mess collegiate sports have become. I used to devour college (hoops especially) on the tube. Now it’s just USF games for me.
  13. I have no desire to see us play Kansas State, Colorado, Iowa State, Baylor, etc. Give me whatever’s left of the ACC - Pitt, Wake, etc.
  14. If this shakes out and we’re left with the remnants of the ACC and a few of our regular comrades - Tulane, Memphis - that would be just fine in my book.
  15. I just completed this quiz. My Score 100/100 My Time 82 seconds
  16. Other guys who got a lot of innings and don’t appear to be coming back: C Nelson Rivera, P Nolan Hudi
  17. More than half of Wichita State’s roster is in the portal: Over half of WSU baseball roster enters transfer portal WWW.KSN.COM Whoever takes over as the new skipper of the Wichita State baseball program will have the cupboards bare next season.
  18. FSU definitely has a better pedigree, but they were 23-31/9-21 last season.
  19. Anyone find any portal info for baseball? I see other schools signing guys out of the portal but can’t find anything on us. A couple of decent UF pitchers (Tyler Nesbit and Clete Hartzog) are in the portal. FSU has signed I think 5 guys or more? Their opening day starter last year - Montgomery- is in the portal. We need to be loading up on arms from the portal for next year or it’s more of the same.
  20. For the record, my original post did not include “Georgia” but I did change it almost immediately after I posted it to better identify the recruit - and before Outlaw posted. I didn’t change it in response to Outlaw’s post, but I’m sure he saw only the original title. If any of it really matters to anyone - I’m not sure why.
  21. None of us have any idea whether or not he’s going to be a quality gameday coach, but he clearly is a more effective recruiter than our past two coaches. The commits so far are a different caliber than what we’ve seen since Taggart left.
  22. Jake Boggs shot 44% from 3 at UNC Wilmington the season before he came to USF (29% for us). D.J. Patrick also shot 44% at Triton College (also 29% for us) the year we signed him. I’m encouraged by the guys we have, but there’s no guarantee the numbers translate to the AAC.
  23. I took it as Tampa is his new home. Whatever, his Hudl film is great. Fast off the edge and hits.
