    that pretty much sums up why we got destroyed on pretty much every misdirection play last year. follow the guards is something you teach in pop warner because chances are if the guards are pulling to one side that is where the play is heading but it is safe to say that in D-1 college football is not a sound plan of attack.

    i guess if you are going to be fast at LB you might as well be really fast. I think in previous years there was some concern about not having enough tackling at LBs against some power runners only to be completely exposed in pass coverage (#55 comes to mind) we will never be an overly big team on defense so we might as well be balls to the wall fast and hope we can gang tackle

    its no shocker that we will run the ball 40-45 times a game. that will require a lot of guys getting in the mix

    according to ESPN- they had a list of the top 10 NFL prospects and Aaron Lynch came in at #10. Pretty impressive for a guy who has only played 1 year of college football and sat out the entire season last year.

    seeing that photo of our QBs worries me. None of those guys look like football players. I know Coach T has talked about wanting our guys to "look like" a football team. if that is the case, we are hurting at QB

    i re-watched "the drive". I still see a lot of the same QB we saw at USF. If his first read was covered he was in trouble. He made some poor choices on whether to scramble or not and the speed of the NFL (even 3rd string guys on KC) were not fooled by his moves. I still say it is a long shot for him to make the 53 man roster.

    good coaching and trust in your WRs. It is clear that the entire time BJ was here he never was on the same page as his WR corp. it will be interesting to see how the rest of preseason pans out for BJ. This was garbage time against guys who will be on practice squads in a few weeks. The other 2 guys in SF camp have not exactly lit the world on fire either so the door is wide open.

    that is pretty much what we do every year. have a strong OOC win and fall on our face during conference play. sounds about right. although I am hoping for a much better conf record than 3-5

    It should. Fox Sports 1 is actually just an expansion on the racing channel SPEED which is currently ch 83 on FiOS. It will still have a lot of Nascar coverage but the renaming will allow them to focus on other major sports as well. Fox is also changing the name of the channel FUEL to Fox Sports 2 for the same reasons.

    NBCSN does a great job with that show "The Turning Point" which airs during NFL season. It is a show where they look at a few key games the previous week and give you an NFL Films style look at the game.

    ask FSU or UF fans if Ball State is a "filler win" granted- we are far from the level of FSU or UF but there is no reason why we shouldn't consider that an OOC game that we should win every year.

    ESPN is losing more and more ground to FoxSports each and every day. It will be very interesting to see what happens in the next few years as FoxSports launches their 24 hour sports channel Fox Sports 1 tomorrow.

    If you think that USF should not destroy Ball St then the Holtz era did MASSIVE damage to this program. I get the whole we are a mid-major and not in the ACC, SEC, or where ever but we should beat Ball St. I feel like people believe we are back in 2002 now.

    talk about a knee jerk reaction. having your players sign autographs for fans at an OBVIOUS free event is perfectly legal by NCAA rules

    but the fact that Schiano was head coach to one of our rivals...maybe they didnt even ask him. Doug Martin is on there

    could have been a time issue? maybe schiano had a lot of other things to do and who knows how much time they gave these guys to sign the waivers? i wouldnt write it up to say they saw it, knew what it was for, and refused it.

    in all fairness...we would need Schiano way more than he needs us. His stage is MUCH bigger.

    Are we still able to have that? It was one of the nice things about this board was to have easy access to some nice discussion with opposing fans. Can we still get that up or have the ads taken its place?
