  1. yea he won't make the team as primary punt returner. i think special teams is his best shot and they will keep him as 3rd QB only due to his versatility.
  2. The way Kaepernik played last season, no one is going to suggest a seventh rounder is going to beat him out. The only way BJ could ever start at San Fran is the Way Kaepernik did. Get the #2 spot and come in during injury and play lights out. I think Brad was referring to other positions like Special Teams or RB. Not starting QB.
  3. is this the XFL? are they going to do the "loose puck" drill for kickoffs now?
  4. love the shirt. reminds me of jeffrey gitomer.
  5. Taggart is a Harbaugh which means he has mastered the "coach" speak. more so than Leavitt maybe. and after seeing where we went from Leavitt to Holtz..giving great speeches to the press isn't high on my list anymore.
  6. he looks like he has added a lot of weight since his days at USF.
  7. the guy thinks his **** dont stink...thats the bottom line. i dont care if you are 11, 17, 27, or 67....that type of attitude doesn't change. you would think given his situation he would think before he runs off on twitter but ive seen enough from him on there to know he wouldn't get the respect of his teammates in the d-1 level.
  8. and the Pitt game that followed a few weeks later was one of the worst games ever. it was also the day my son was born so atleast I had that going for me.
  9. and because I am a lifelong 49ers fan and I am excited that he is on my team....only Vernon Davis can make Anquan Boldin look small http://www.49ers.com/media-gallery/photo-gallery/Training-Camp-August-1/95c5cb64-169d-4dc5-9def-48a99c454d71#00c9cecb-eaf7-47ef-b0e5-a37de6bfa5c3
  10. back as the punt returner... http://www.49ers.com/media-gallery/photo-gallery/Training-Camp-August-1/95c5cb64-169d-4dc5-9def-48a99c454d71#fb0e725c-4631-43d7-967c-1af9a778eb17

  12. +1 I think he overestimated his stock. See Tyler Cameron for example. Buried on the bench with no light at the end of the tunnel. I live in Winston Salem (Wake Forest University) and there is no mention of the guy at all. So you think he decommited because he thought he was going to be offered a schollie that night at UF and he'd be more attractive if uncommited? My first inclination is to say that's ridiculous but then I remember that we're dealing with 17/18 year olds and he may very well have thought that ... which goes back to a question I had earlier, where is his support group (family, coach, etc) in all this? There's no way a responsible adult signs off on the way he did this... I think he decommitted because he was going to that camp and he didnt want to be known as the "USF' kid (especially when he is a UF fan) and he feels he is just as good as any QB there that UF is taking a serious look at.
  13. i guess he didn't get much interest from UF during Friday Night Lights.
  14. What a waste of an opportunity. I can see his reasoning on some level.. you want to be apart of a championship caliber team to ensure you get noticed. However, Dyer would be a stand-out and ensure a better draft stock at USF. This just proves that his decision making skills haven't improved. We are better off without him. I doubt his "draft stock" would be impacted any different regardless which school he played for. He has already proved what he is capable of doing, it is just a matter of proving he can stay healthy, work hard, and stay out of trouble. If he gets 500 yards or 1,500 yards this year it won't matter. So much of "draft stock" is based on combine measurable.
  15. am i the only one who thinks it would be funny if he only gets about 15 carries this season?
  16. oh well. don't let the door it you where the good lord split you. i never understood why he committed so early anyways. he is obviously a gator fan and as soon as they smiled at him he dropped his pants like a drunk hooter at the bar. he pretty much ruined his chance of playing for USF. he better hope some other schools with better opportunities become real strong on him.
  17. so wait a second...this Hill guy is a president of a university that no one has ever heard of and he refers to himself in the 3rd person when giving an interview about a kid he is supposed to be mentoring? It is pretty clear that if this was Michael Dyer the grocery store clerk that President Hill wouldn't look twice. I question this guy's motives and hopefully Dyer isn't putting a whole lot of weight on his opinion.
  18. There is a better chance we build our new stadium on Mars than there is of USF or UCF joining the Big 10 anytime in the next 3,000 years.
  19. there is no doubt in my mind that if we built a OCS we would get atleast $5 million more in revenue each year. sure that doesn't cover the price tag but think about it...new seat fees, getting parking, concession, more on campus merch sales, etc.
  20. I don't think Dyer is a "savior" but if he came on board he will instantly be our most talented RB on the roster. He is going to be one and done where ever he ends up so that will just depend upon conversations he has with Coach Taggart and how well would Dyer fit into our plans THIS year. Coach Taggart and the staff he put in place has great ability to identify with kids like Dyer and I would think that from a mentoring perspective, everything ive read about Taggart, there really isn't one better at the HC level that would pay close attention to Dyer during the year.
  21. i think Triple B was referring to the article i posted from USAToday that talks about how Dyer got his AA from Arkansas BaptistSchool and mentioned how he didn't bring any of his other baggage with him. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2013/07/07/auburn-arkansas-baptist-michael-dyer/2496913/
  22. obviously we would rather have a 5 star RB out of high school who is on the honor role and model citizen but those guys aren't looking at USF.
  23. guys...when you are in the same conference as st Catherine school for women....you take a chance on this kind of talent no matter the background. Willie has proven he runs a tight ship and no nonsense.
  24. Found this.. He would be immediately eligible and there is no doubting his talent. Maybe Willie T can be the mentor he didn't have at Auburn. http://m.usatoday.com/article/news/2496913
  25. Joe Schad said on twitter that he was in Tampa this weekend and to watch out for USF as a landing spot for the transfer RB. Anyone have any more info?
