  1. It's too bad we can't even earn a first round pick going into next season. But maybe reality will sink in and fan expectations going forward will be closer to zero. Any win or moral victory will then exceed our expectations. That's better psychologically than thinking you have a decent team and then watching as they fail to deliver. Think like a Cub's fan. GB!
  2. I thought Ball State clearly had the better team. It was no fluke . . . just a continuation of the way we've been playing for quite some time. Based solely on W-L records, this will probably end up being the worst class of seniors in the history of USF football. GB!
  3. I guess this means "we're all doomed" in a parallel universe. GB!
  4. When E.T. gets Pissed!!! you know we have a problem around here. GB!
  5. Petrino might be a good fit for UCiF post-O'Liar. Chizik may also become available. Stay tuned. GB!
  6. I thought the pre-season plan was to have the backup QB play one or two series in each game. Nevertheless, what I want to know is which QB will play against Miami. History says it won't be BJ. GB!
  7. I think they made a movie about this topic . . . it's called "Waiting for Superman". GB!
  8. Some other positives . . . the teams's GPA has improved, we're no longer in contention for the Fulmer Cup, and the habitual losing is helping to forge some tight interpersonal bonds among the players. Now, let's all hold hands and sing the fight song. GB!
  9. It's not just one game . . . we have all seen it over and over again and will see it again and again until some changes are made. It's Groundhog Day and Rocky has seen his shadow. GB!
  10. Why make the players watch film of this game? Our game plan was clear evidence that our coaches have never seen Rutgers play. GB!
  11. . . . and the lack of a short-to-intermediate passing game leads to a defense that can't shut down those routes (i.e., they never see it in practice). GB!
  12. After watching the Nevada film, I doubt Rutgers will use a spy or double-spy technique against BJ this year. Looks like we finally have the offensive tools to break them of that habit. GB!
  13. I'm too hoarse from last night, but maybe somebody here might want to call in to 98.7 and talk about the big game with Rutgers and the Bucs-Schiano connection. The radio hosts have nobody to talk too (Mark somebody and a sidekick). The number is 888-9987987. GB!
  14. Funny things can happen if you stay to the bitter end . . . I remember one game where we were being hopelessly blown out by Rutgers or Pitt, and this guy in my section stands up and loudly chastizes every one who got up to leave early. Then as the last of the team and cheerleaders meander off the field, he turns to leave, and I yell to the loudmouth, "DON'T LEAVE NOW"! Eveyone had a good laugh in an otherwise dismal situation. GB!
  15. The crowd never really got into the game. The team was sharp as long as they stayed focused. But once they started to feel comfortable, they reverted to their old tricks. UTC may turn out to be better than most realize now, and our next opponent will dictate a more serious attitude among the team. Let's see what happens in the low humidity of the Sierra Nevadas on the road. If we steal a one-point victory there, I'll be happy. GB!
  16. Hey Duck Dude . . . Anything you can do to knock USC off its high horse will be greatly appreciated by all (except for one lone poster on this board). GB!
  17. 1. USF 2. 24-19 3. Shaw 4. Montgomery 5. 349 Just trying to win the contest, rather than making an accurate prediction. Much more worried about next week's low-humidity tilt. GB!
  18. Premature Excitement . . . I too have suffered from that painful, embarassing, and humiliating condition in the past. But this year, for some strange reason, it seems I have been permanently cured. For example, I appear to have zero interest in listening to Skip and the players talk about the upcoming season on video. Just save it all for the next game I say . . . end of story. GB!
  19. From reading everyone's comments, I see I'm not the only one who has actually changed seats to get a better HOT experience. It's the biggest factor in creating the college football experience for me (vs. pro football). I guess I'm open to the idea of amplification, but only if it is professionally executed and integrated within RayJays thunderous PA (my ears hurt just thinking about those pre-game commercials). My generally negative stance about sound amplification is rooted in having to endure the University of Georgia's Redcoat Band playing that same droning riff over and over and over again with their **** amplified guitar bass. Although I think the SEC outlawed that practice some years ago (thank you God), they were the epitome of the Johnny-One-Note band. I never want that to happen to 8_va's most famous musical composition. He should get royalties for that . . . and I think his genius is right up there next to Beethoven. GB!
  20. Is 8_va joking about the microphones? I thought several years ago he was against the idea (i.e., making us look as impotent as the other U's band). I've had seats in various locations over the years (but not in the upper decks). Walking around RayJay I can hear HOT clearly, even from the parking lots before/after the game. I know alot of you disagree and I admit there certainly could be some acoustic dead spots. I don't want to rehash those old arguments; I'm just surprised by 8_va's current stance. Maybe it was a joke that flew right over my head . . . if so, NEVERMIND. GB!!
  21. I've never bought into this so-called rivalry thing and will probably never attend a USF-UCF game. That being said, I see two positive things that could come out of this. First, the clueless national media, second-rate ESPN commentators, and uninformed public will be forced to realize we are two different schools. No more "UC . . . er USF" comments. They will eventually learn. Second, the recent mess with ESPN could give both schools a common enemy. To me, ESPN = Disney. Boycott anyone? I'm only kidding about this, but it wouldn't look good if the entire I-4 corridor had ill will towards the Mouse House. GB!
  22. Many thanks for the video. Did Skip really say "B K Daniels"?
