  1. Probably easier to fly into KC and drive about 90 minutes to Lawrence.
  2. I thought he was recruited as a QB? Most QB's by default could be considered an ATHLETE.
  3. Sure. I guess my point is that he hasn't played but a handful of snaps at a different position, and somehow that translates into an NFL draft pick? Not saying he can't do it, but it sure seems waaaaay to early to speculate about being drafted. BTW, even though Brad Johnson didn't start his senior year, he and Casey Weldon split a fair amount of time their last couple of years at FSU.
  4. I thought Ingram played his ball in the G'ville/Ocala area?  Hawthorne HS I think. By the way Joe, how many "inside sources" do you have?  Seems like every thread you've got some sort of top secret info.  What gives?
  5. NFL?? HA!! He hasn't even seen the field. He better think about getting his uniform dirty at least once before he has dreams of the NFL. I sure hope our coaches are pumping this to these kids who have second thoughts about coming here.
  6. I'm almost positive there was a similar thread several months back, and their ability to match the green was a primary reason we use them. As for the helmets, don't think that sportsbelle manufactures those. My guess would be Riddell. Who knows? Regardless, it is still pretty freaking lame that you can't buy a "real" jersey.
  7. speaking of color, I believe that is another reason we are with Sportsbelle. They are able to provide us with the shade of green that we require for our uniforms. I believe we has some issues with other manufacturers and their color selections.
  8. From my understanding that is exactly why we do not have "replica" or "authentic" jerseys for sale. Sportsbelle doesn't sell their product through retail channels. http://www.sportsbelle.com/
  9. That excuse is a load of crap!!  What do people expect? If we ever make it to the BCS, are they going to consult our fan base to conveniently schedule our game around everyone's plans?  COME ON!!!!  Bowl games are ALWAYS played during the holidays.  That has to be the absolute worst excuse I've heard for not attending.  Besides, it's New Year's Eve.  Its not a religious holiday traditionally spent with family.  It's a party holiday!
  10. I thought we were going to do that if we made it in 2002. Wonder why it's not happening this year.
  11. http://bulls.tbo.com/bulls/MGB5WVKJYGE.html USF Cashes In ($2.975M) On Big East Bowl Money Published: Dec 8, 2005 TAMPA - By earning its first bowl berth in school history, the University of South Florida will receive nearly $3 million of the Big East's $21.4 million in bowl payouts. USF will receive $2.975 million - $750,000 from the Meineke Car Care Bowl, $350,000 from the Big East to assist with travel costs and $1.875 million as its share of the league's BCS money. League champion and Sugar Bowl-bound West Virginia will receive $4.275 million, Gator Bowl-bound Louisville $3.475 million and Insight Bowl-bound Rutgers $3.175 million. Connecticut, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Cincinnati each receive $1.875 million. Also as Big East champion, WVU receives an additional $600,000, the Louisville Journal-Courier reported. Louisville gets $300,000 for second place and the third-place $100,000 bonus is split between USF, Rutgers and Pittsburgh ($33,333 each). THE STREETS ARE SAFE: Three years ago Coach Jim Leavitt said he would run naked through the streets of Tampa if the Bulls received a bowl bid. Fortunately for Tampa residents, Leavitt's offer was only for 2002. "That was just for that year," said Leavitt, who turned 49 Monday. "No one wants to see me run through the streets of Tampa naked." What Leavitt does want to see is Bulls fans stampeding - preferably clothed - to Charlotte, N.C., for USF's bowl game against N.C. State on Dec. 31. "Certainly, if we brought 20,000, that would make a statement across the country," Leavitt said. "I don't know how many we can bring but everybody, their kids, aunties, grandmothers, extended family, get a caravan: green and gold needs to certainly just engulf Charlotte." Leavitt said the number of USF fans would play a huge part in USF's "credibility as a program" and "will set a precedent for the next number of years" on how USF is viewed by the bowls. Through Wednesday, USF had sold a little more than 2,000 of its 12,500 ticket allotment. "It will be like a home game for N.C. State," Leavitt said. "We need a bunch of Bulls to balance it out." FAB FRANK: Men's basketball assistant Frank Burnell returned to Stetson on Tuesday. A forward for the Hatters from 1979-83 and later an assistant from 1986-93, Burnell left as the school's fourth-leading scorer (1,491 points). "I was a lot skinnier back then," said Burnell, whose No. 40 is one of 30 retired jerseys hanging from the Edmunds Center rafters. "It feels good to be back, but it felt a lot better since we got the win." ODDS AND ENDS: Former USF baseball assistant Bryan Peters, now a Stetson assistant, was noncommittal about whom he rooted for when the Bulls men's basketball team beat Stetson 77-52 on Tuesday. "I'm wearing a neutral shade of green," said Peters, a USF graduate. ... At least six NBA scouts will attend Saturday's men's basketball game against Michigan.
  12. agreed. how he's not at least second team is amazing to me.

  14. Best wishes. My wonderful wife, and Bull partner in life, is about to bring our second little Bull-ette into the world in the next few weeks. I've got to concur with the guys above. When my little Anna (21 months) sees football on tv and says "Rocky Bull" or "Go Bulls", there is nothing sweeter in the world. With the impending birth, I won't be at the bowl game this year, but next year, I'll be in for a 4-pack for me and my girls.
  15. until we switch manufacturers, doubt we'll ever see true authentic jerseys
  16. Huggins may be the only way we can compete in the BE in the next 10 years. I'd have RMC on a short leash this year. Injuries or not, we still aren't getting the right players on the roster.
  17. First bowl appearance (knock wood) in only the ninth year. I just read a few days ago that the University of Virginia didn't make it into their first bowl game until the 1984 Peach Bowl. Their program started in 1888!!!! Granted we've hit a few small pebbles in the road (wouldn't call them speedbumps), CJL has this program moving forward. I had resigned myself to a 4-7 season this year, and we're on the verge of 7-4. CJL has done the right things. He'll get us to the BCS sooner than later.
  18. To a certain extent I would agree with you. I'd say we could get by with a 50 - 70 yd field. Mainly would be used during inclement weather in Aug and Sept when we end up having many practices interrupted due to lightning.
  19. Only one word for that.....WOW!!!  That sure is a sweet facility.  The only reason we could ever think of using one of those would be duing the first month or two of the season when we get all of the late afternoon thunderstorms. ÂÂ
  20. yeah, I wouldn't count on any updates on the RayJay scoreboard. Glad I've got wireless internet on the cell phone.
