  1. The unbiased measuring stick is wins. USF has 4 wins this season. USF had 4 wins under Jeff Scott in 3 seasons. Any logical person would say this team is better than last season.
  2. The play-by-play announcers kept repeating over and over during the Memphis game that USF has the #1 G5 recruiting class for next year. Not #1 for the AAC, #1 for all G5 schools. USF has never done that before. Any reasonable USF fan knew this year would be a transitional year. BTW look what is going on in Colorado. After a few cheap wins Dieon Sanders is making a fool of himself. He used that transfer portal like he was getting free agents in the NFL. How has that worked out for him?
  3. @E.T. Keep fighting the good fight. Every step is a step in the right direction. I think a lot of us are reaching that age where every illness is a reality check that we are all mortal. Don't let things get you down and focus on getting back your health. Go Bulls!!!
  4. So, their premier home B-12 game is against WVU? Will any of their fans pay $70 a seat to watch a bunch of drunken hillbillies give them the "Deliverance" treatment? Maybe for this game they should change their logo to Ned Beatty in a pair of tighty whities.
  5. The Student Government at USF, and probably most other universities, are not exactly full of the brightest and the best. They love to waste Student Activity and Service (A&S) Fees, and this looks like another boondoggle by our illustrious Student Government. They have to approve the spending of these fees, so not one of them even noticed that purple was the color of our opponent? Were they too busy huffing their own farts to even notice this?
  6. I watched CAG's post-game conference on YouTube last night, and he did not make excuses for the loss. He freely admitted they did a horrible job. What I do not understand is why USF did a live broadcast of the press conference and showed an empty podium for 20 minutes. That was almost a parallel of the team not showing up for this game. I think the close game with Alabama and the wins against Rice and Navy had everyone thinking AAC championship and a decent bowl game. The talent on this team is still suspect and there is still the stench left over from CCS and CJS. CAG will just have to work harder to eradicate that loser mentality from the team. They had a chance to take back the game in the second half and the completely blew it. Let's not forget on October 16, 2004 USF lost their Homecoming game to Army and finished the season 4 - 7 (3 - 5 in CUSA). Even the "legendary" coaches have a bad day and a bad season.
  7. FAU has been slowly and quietly building their program over the years. They did one thing USF has been dragging its feet on until recently; they built an OCS. Maybe if USF had to suffer playing games in an old dump like Lockhart Stadium then we would have built an OCS years ago. FAU was not a scrub team just because they came from CUSA. There was probably a reason the AAC invited FAU, and I doubt it was just the sunny beaches at Boca Raton. I did not like losing to them, but I would not call them a "glorified community college" team.
  8. Did anyone tell him that Indiana has been a bottom feeder in the Big 10 forever, and has no plans to improve their football program? All they care about is basketball.
  9. I am not a financial advisor, but you need to fire yours. I have no idea what you are investing in, but you are most likely getting robbed by your financial advisor. There are mutual funds that are low cost and have low transaction fees and they consistently pay back a good return over time.
  10. I do not know. It is like being married to whomever is the hot chick of the moment, BUT, she refuses to consummate the marriage. So, sure you can brag that you are married to Madame Hot Stuff, but you know every night you fall asleep with blue balls.
  11. I do not get all of the virtual high fives and fist bumps over this. She plays on division-III Shenandoah University. Not exactly elite competition at that level.
  12. I prefer to just ignore UCF, but does anyone else take solace that Kansas hammered UCF and that UCF has yet to win a conference game?
  13. I do not know the behavior of the current crop of frat boys, but when I was at USF they were an odd bunch. They cared more about their fraternity than they did USF. They would go out of their way for their "charity drives" to make their fraternity look good, but show up at basketball games? Only if the game was on national TV.
  14. His constant references to God are very obnoxious and boastful. He shows no humility or grace, things that most Christian children learned in Sunday school. He may constantly thank God, but he worships a false idol - himself.
  15. Funny. Schools in lower conferences that win their championships get invited to the big show.
  16. It was funny and ironic that during one of the commercial breaks they showed a University of Colorado promo where the theme was "Prime". Prime science, prime location, prime rib, prime whatever. Then the broadcast came back from the commercial and USC went up by 3 TDs.
  17. I remember their obnoxious fans at the last USF - UCF game. They were waving their Big 12 banners as if they won the lottery. Well they are in the Big 12, so show up at your games. Nothing sweeter than seeing their attendance sink while they continue to lose conference games.
  18. It should not matter who we are playing. It should be fans showing to see USF kick the crap out of who we are playing. It has been years since we have done that, so no wonder the crowds are not what they are supposed to be. It is very discouraging to go through all the effort to go to the game and see your team flat on their face. I think Coach Golesh has made a positive change with this team. The results are on the field, and he expresses them in his press conferences. It is a lot of effort to go to the game vs just sitting at home and watching the game on TV. You have these thing to deal with Preparing and packing for a tailgate Driving to the game and paying for parking Setting up your tailgate Enjoying your tailgate - well that is a good thing Tearing down the tailgate Dealing with lines and security checks getting into the stadium Dealing with lines inside the stadium Dealing with extreme heat on day games Dealing with the Bucs, the Glazers and RJS doing a "cash-ectomy" on your wallet if you go to the concessions. Dealing with fans for the other team since they are everywhere for a lot of games (including lower level teams like FAMU) That is a lot to expect from fans when the team lays a rotten egg at every home game for the past few years. Once the team starts winning and winning big there will be a turn around. It will probably not happen for another season or two, but that only happens if USF consistently wins at home.
  19. They supposedly were giving out 10,000 of those hats, and not everyone got a hat.
  20. I hope you are joking. While human nature says that almost any person would take more money, Golesh right now sounds like a man who has not accomplished his goals of turning around this team and would probably not want an extension at this time.
  21. Yeah never winning a conference championship or even getting close to sniffing the conference championship was such a great thing to experience every year. Interesting that no other schools or NFL teams or even a high school hired him as a head coach, and other places other than USF have fired him after he left USF. Leavitt was instrumental in starting the program, but he was no Bear Bryant, Joe Paterno or even Eddie Robinson. He may get a plaque commemorating his part in USF football's history, but no one is erecting a statue for him. The constant harping back to the Leavitt era is just pathetic as the dude who keeps mentioning the hot chick he lost his virginity back in high school. Good for you, now get over it. All that matters is who you are banging now.
  22. Oh yes, the never ending partying as a freshman, or "pegging of the funometer", that gets people kicked out of their "dream school". When I was dredging my way through a different state CC (not HCC) I ran in to a few people that bombed their way out of state universities. One really obnoxious girl was a huge Gators fan and I found out later that she partied so much in her sorority that she flunked out of UF. I desperate to get out of community college, which we called "13th grade" as an insult, and get into a university. Thankfully I made my way into USF and that changed my life for the better.
  23. At least this did not happen to USF. BTW, The Spun is one of the worst written sports websites. I think they are using a discount version of Chat GTP to spew out these articles. Sports Illustrated owns this clickbait website? They should be ashamed. Well not as ashamed as Northern Illinois. thespun.com THESPUN.COM https://thespun.com/more/top-stories/we-have-our-first-fcs-over-fbs-victory-of-the-2023-season
