  1. Maybe he is saving that for the Monday press conference? Maybe not everything has to be on Twitter? What exactly are you looking for? It is all coach speak anyways. It is not as if any coach is going to pull out the chalkboard and diagram some plays for the press.
  2. So should we ask UCF'ers the same question in a few years?
  3. Well the press has to get Alabama in the playoffs somehow. It was either expanding the playoffs or the extreme route of "Marshalling" an entire football team ranked above Alabama.
  4. Well one of those dudes is dead and other's career is dead while Dilfer keeps on trucking.
  5. No one in the mainstream press is even talking about Leavitt. The only people bringing up his name are clowns on this message board and five people surveyed at the game, and those are probably people on this message board. No serious person would consider bringing him back. If you want nostalgia, go watch some old clips on YouTube.
  6. Putting Leavitt in the company of Spurrier and Bowden is laughable. Those men won conference titles. Those men won national championships. Leavitt could not even sniff second place in conference play. He was lucky to get one win above .500 in conference play. Leavitt had his chance to jump for more money, but he stayed. Probably stayed too long and was not going to get another shot at a payday job. If anyone thinks that Leavitt would still be at USF if USF did not fire him, then they are really hitting the crack pipe. He would have either gotten a better paying job if he actually figured out how to win a conference championship, or he would have lost his job for underperforming.
  7. We have had several coaches that won 6+ games, and if you are talking about every season, even Leavitt did not do that. At least two other coaches won 10 games in a season; something that St. Leavitt never did. Even that Holtz New Error beat teams that Leavitt could never beat. I liked Leavitt back then, but it is time to move on.
  8. I still stand by my statement. WVU thought they were hot when they moved to the B-12, and now they are a perennial bottom feeder with occasional glimpses of glory.
  9. Great way to jinx your team you bozo. Nice loss to Navy. How about two in a row? Zero chance for a New Year's Six bowl now. Lame On!!!
  10. It would be nice to end the worst era of USF football with a high note. I still count CDDP as part of the CJS era since he is an interim coach, and he has the same staff and squad. The only way the next coach could do worse is if he went winless in 3 straight seasons.
  11. Asking for a friend Seriously I have a collection of them. Was Skip Holtz on one of the cups too? I would have to go back through my inventory. It sucks being a pack rat. Maybe USF should go with a more generic design like they did for this season.
  12. That young man has talent. Let's see what he can do against UCF

TAMPA — As the USF football coaching search continues, the Bulls are trying to find someone who can help them win conference championships and live up to their... Tampa Bay Times article reposted on Yahoo, so no need for a subscription. This article too, oddly posted under Yahooo Autos? USF football coaching search: Who has head coaching experience and Florida ties? TAMPA — As USF athletic director Michael Kelly began the Bulls’ football coaching search last week, he said he didn’t have a specific profile in mind. He wouldn’t...
  14. Remember when Austin Peay was a tune up game for MBB before conference play started? Now USF is a tune up game for Austin Peay before their conference starts.
  15. Remember when Stetson was a tune up game for the USF Bulls? Now we are a tune up game for them.
  16. I want to go mowin' my yard when Mowin is on the air.
  17. I would say the fans gave him grief. The press? Not so much until the end.
  18. Did his daughter really say that? I have been around enough 7 year old kids as well as being one at one point, and most of them are not that eloquent. She might have said something like that but more in 7 year old speak. That being said, this was a gracious post from a coach who got a lot of grief from the fans and the press because of the lack of success. He could have done like what former Miami Dolphin Brian Cox did to the Buffalo Bills with a two finger salute out the door.
  19. Gruden would give USF coverage in the press. However, he never really developed a QB in the pros, so would anyone expect him to do that in college? I always got a kick out of ESPN showing him talking to college QBs as if he knew anything about developing a top QB draft pick.
  20. As usual for this season, the team played hard for one half (first or second half, take your pick) but played like crap in the other half. CDDP needs to do something about that quick if he wants to honor his pledge to make sure these young men have fun the rest of the season. (Paraphrasing what he said in his first press conference).
  21. I was a big Gallagher fan as a kid and young teenager. I did not even know what USF was and did not know he was an alumnus until after I graduated. While he was known for the Sledge-o-Matic, I remember watching several of his cable specials, and he got into complex comedy like poking fun at whomever was notable in politics. That was back in the 70's and 80's when a comedian could poke fun at politicians and no one would get their undies in a bunch over it because you were desecrating someone from "their team" Unless I missed it, it was too bad that USF did not acknowledge his passing at the game, even if he had nothing to do with USF sports. I would hope USF in general would make some type of statement, even something from The Oracle would be nice.
  22. Yeah like get blown out by Oregon in the Sun Bowl. Nothing better than traveling to El Paso and listening to the locals loudly mock your team after the 1st quarter.
  23. Hey I am not saying to rehire Taggart. However people love to make Leavitt into a Joe Paterno style figure and think every coach after him sucked. Taggart actually did something here that Leavitt never did. USF knew that and did not give him an incentive to stay. Even Strong got 10 wins with Taggart's players.
