  1. I would joke and say they will become the Vanderbilt of the Big 12, but Vanderbilt is a respected engineering school. UCF is just a school in FL that decided to admit every fool who applied so they can brag that they have the largest enrollment in FL.
  2. You do have a good point there. We have some young guys that could turn this sinking ship around next year. The OL needs to learn to block better, and the defense needs to stop giving up big passing and running plays. However for the immediate future, it is very grim. Maybe a win at Tulane. UCF will be tough, but I am reveling in their misery right now as SMU is putting a beat down on them.

  4. Well we had the Holtz New Error, then Taggart's slow start. Strong (who should change his last name to Weak) did not help in the wins department. Maybe, just maybe Scott will be line Taggart and turn USF into an offensive juggernaut. It does not look promising right now.
  5. My memory might be wrong, but I think we had an early win against Houston when Blackwell was our QB. I still remember the infamous "Halloween game" against Cincinnati that was also homecoming. You know the game where so many people bellyached about a home game on Halloween and how could their kids go trick or treating. They gave out t-shirts at that game. I still have mine but it does not fit anymore. I am pretty positive we won that game.
  6. I know all schools hit a slump every now and then, but this is getting ridiculous. Strong really put a hex on this team and set us back 10+ years.
  7. I would like to say congrats as well, but no one ever fully beats cancer. They just delay the inevitable.
  8. We were cheating and lost that many games under Strong? I used to respect him when he first showed up. My opinion of him changed. He is a idiot.
  9. Temple Owls Rice Owls FAU Owls USTA is the Road Runners Did I miss any feathered mascots? UAB is the Blazers, which is a dragon, and dragons are kind of based of dinosaurs. New research indicates that dinosaurs had feathers, so does that count. This conference is for the birds
  10. No thanks. I remember when there was no football at USF. All it takes is winning to get the fans back. Maybe adding some cupcakes will result in more wins and give the team the confidence boost to step up and make the next jump.
  11. How many Owls will we have in this new lineup? I know, someone most likely pointed this out, but after 15+ pages I am late to the game.
  12. I am tired of him. I am also tired of the lazy media scouring Twitter for stories. Twitter is just full of clowns looking for their 15 seconds of fame by posting something contraversial.
  13. The Oracle has better coverage, and these are students doing it for free for the experience.
  14. Whatever issues people had with Genshaft she boosted fundraising to high levels for USF. Maybe not enough for athletics, but the main point of college is to get an education. We did not have football when I was at USF, but there were several athletics scandals before I was there, a few while I was there and some immediately after I graduated. We do not need any of that.
  15. Parity in what, players or coaches? Players yes. Coaches no. Scott should have taken the safe move and punted the ball.
  16. Brass Mug has become a heavy metal place in its new location. It is off Skipper Road (not really near Skipper's Smoke House) and that location hosted several USF area clubs. The last time I was at that place prior to covid the place was falling apart. Drywall was falling off the ceiling and the roof leaked when it rained. Some guys I knew were playing and there were buckets on the stage to collect water. The guitarist was annoyed with them and kicked on over when their set was done.
  17. There was some dumpy alternative music dance club not to far away from campus back in the 90's. I do not remember the name of that place. I met a girl at that place and we dated while I was at USF.
  18. He should sit in the corner and contemplate on his stupid play calling at the end of the game.
  19. I never bought that argument. Look at colleges in the middle of BFE, nowhere locations. Do you think that all of the banjo playing, cousin humping, trailer park living rednecks that live in Tuscaloosa are showing up at Alabama games when most of their welfare checks are spent on cases of Natural Ice? How about Penn State? Nice little mountain town, but the city doubles in population for each home game. People drive in from other cities to attend games at those small town colleges; it is not just the local residents. Granted our student turnout is just terrible given that they get free tickets, but an on campus stadium would help in that department.
  20. I still remember when FAU was still playing in Lockart Stadium, and USF brought in a ton of fans. It was probably the first sell out for a young FAU program. That was a fun game.
  21. Don't laugh at FAU. They may pass UM as the "south Florida" powerhouse. FSU screwed up by firing Taggart. He will get his shot at a P5 job again. FSU will be on their next coach within a year or two.
  22. They do not have that Big 12 money yet, plus they have to pay that huge AAC buyout, which will be like passing a 2 inch kidney stone for them.
