Ok...let's compare how many conf titles your team has since you wrote this post in 2006. I am waiting............. Still waiting............. You still there???? I could start to list UCF's Conf Titles since then (let alone UCF's FOUR Conference Titles when the Knights and the cows have been conference members) but that might take too long to list them all. Please tell us another story about usf's "future" success.

I'm soooo glad UCF is always on your mind. Hope traffic was too bad when you left early in the 4th Q.

Its to a point where most UCF Fans probably aren't even laughing about the state of the s. florida program...its almost sad...as they have the silver spoon BCS Invite back in Nov 2003 and wasted it away. (Ok...I agree most UCF Fans chuckle at the thought). Maybe that's why UCF is so hungry to always try and win their division/conf...because nothing was ever given to UCF...as UCF was the first school to win 1 (obviously they have 2), BCS/NYD6 Bowl wins that played in Div III, Div II, Div I-AA and Div I-A Football.

Yeah...that was an ok 4th and 1 play when down by 6 pts that went 50 yds to the Memphis 2 yd line (UCF scored the winning TD/PAT a play later). This was an even better 4th and 1 from UCF's own 29 yd line vs the same team from earlier in the season: https://youtu.be/c3eFpje-FfM?t=120

Actually, Heupel changed quite a bit from what the ikd staff did. 1) He brought in Randy Shannon to change the defense from a 3-4 to a 4-3 who had lost their star players (Hughes and Griffin) and some DL Seniors. 2) Heupel really change the speed of offense with a.lot less substitutions, while changing a short passing game into a longer North/South passing attack. 3) He rotated out a very promising RB Otis Anderson and replaced with with former walk on RB McCrae, who lead the team in rushing while averaging almost 9 yds a carry without starting more than 1 game Good news is that those changes worked too.

I know...that's what happens when one post's facts of lots of teams in/near NFL Stadiums that have built new on-campus stadiums or have recently spent hundreds of millions of $$$ in stadium renovations vs moving "near-by" to the shiny but sterile NFL stadium in town. I do hope though that usf leadership continues to think that staying in RJS for decades to come is the right move to advance their program as it will probably help grow the divide between UCF and that program even more so (and the campus too).

Washington is located just 6 miles from the Seahawks NFL Stadium yet they choose to spend almost $300 Million to UPGRADE their college stadium. Same thing USC is doing as they are spending $300 Million to upgrade the LA Coliseum that they own now instead of playing in the new $1.5 Billion NFL Stadium that will be located just 7 miles away. Houston built a new 40,000 seat on-campus stadium instead of moving to the beautiful NFL Stadium just 3 miles away. Ga Tech continues to upgrade their historic stadium vs move to the $1 Billion plus Mercedes Benz Stadium just a few miles away. (Heck, Ga State moved out of the "old NFL Dome" and instead of moving to the new NFL dome, decided to renovate old Turner Field instead). Cincinnati spent almost $100 Million upgrading their on-campus stadium instead of moving to the very modern NFL Stadium for the Bengals just a stones throw away. Stanford and Cal both spent Hundreds of Millions of $$$ to upgrade their on-campus Stadiums instead of joining the 49ers in their new one. Heck, its funny because usf fans mention this stadium more than most but Univ of Minnesota moved OUT of a NFL Stadium and turned down an offer to join their new one...and instead they built a beautiful $280 Million on-campus stadium instead. Weird...all of those college teams spent billions on their one stadiums, even though they have a NFL Stadium nearby....so maybe those schools KNOW something about the long-term impact that on-campus football means to their student body, alumni and maybe more important, FUTURE student body and future alumni.

I know...believe much of your reasoning is based on what you stated earlier that you are not an alum of the school you cheer for...as you don't seem to care about building blocks and/or trophies that players, coaches and fans at other schools seem to enjoy.

Ok...your team joined the AAC in 2013...since its so easy...how many divisional or conf championships have you won as a member of the AAC? Only thing that is a given is if you DON'T win the AAC, the bowl offerings are not the greatest...something your team has only known (if bowl eligible) as a member of the AAC....hence the importance of winning the conf...which has help propel UCF (twice) and Houston (once) into BCS/NYD6 Bowls and both teams won all of those opportunities.

If you are really interested, you can ask for the Dorsey Family for more info...but those tragic events are the worst outcome one can imagine so no clue how one compare one over another.

You do realize that to make a NYD6 Bowl as a G5, you MUST win your Conf Championship (plus be highest ranked). You summed up perfectly the state of your football program as SEASON ENDING GOALS can't be achieved without: 1) winning your own division 2) winning your conference I'm glad my program has their priorities in order.

Well, you were invited to join a BCS Conf in Nov 2003...and that meant WAY more money and WAY more exposure (especially for recruiting) for the next decade. Even with that HUGE head start (i.e. your team was moving/staying in the old Big East which became the AAC and UCF was moving up from the "lowly" CUSA according to you), all UCF has done is win MORE Divisional and Conf Titles over EVERYONE else since 2013...while your team is still waiting for their first ever divisional title in the history of their program. Do you want to change your history and switch places with UCF back in Nov 2003? (UCF was playing Football in the MAC and then the bulls got invited to join a BCS Conf and then UCF got invited to join CUSA). I didn't think so. Again, if you say EVERY team has its ups and downs....when will usf ever get their first UP, i.e. divisional or conf title?

Everyone would admit that Florida is a COLLEGE Football State first....WAY over College Basketball right? While UF has had some hoop success, basically no other state team has...hence why most state teams focus on FOOTBALL as their priority sport and I don't think that will ever change with their fan base. I enjoy college hoops...but for most in FL, they don't care.

We know...but that isn't the norm...seeing how UCF's Conf Championship Trophy Case is over flowing, let alone the 2 HUGE BCS/NYD6 Trophies UCF has as well. So if a winless program can turn their program around (rather quickly in both cases), why can't others do it (that haven't won anything even though they have had solid seasons) since its so easy to do? When Dr Hitt hired O'Leary in Dec 2003, he told him to "build a program, not just a team", and to do that with facilities, RIGHT kids, don't take short-cuts (high risk recruits with poor grades and or large number of JUCO/transfers), etc...as Dr Hitt wanted something in place that would LAST. Frost and now Heupel wouldn't have had the success they enjoyed if not for the "build the program" philosophy that started way back in Dec 2003.

1) Did you just compare at HUGE Public Institution like S. Florida with over 50,000 students to a small private school with only 6,500 undergrad students in SMU? Ok, all would say, "that was dumb". 2) I hope you get your wish in your believe that it "doesn't matter" where a college football stadium is located or even if you don't even have one like your school.

There's a reason why UCF's President Whittaker was smiling from ear to ear on Sunday morning...as his CAMPUS was the star of a combined 6 1/2 hour national tv show starting on Saturday morning and finished around 11:30 pm Saturday night. These shows were about MORE than just football, this was about ALL of UCF. All the shots of campus during Game Day and during the ABC Prime Time Game are all invaluable, plus and probably more importantly, the EXCITED UCF Students and Fans brought to both national tv shows is practically immerserable. As Sports Illustrated noted some 20 plus years ago...the key to college football attendance is to get STUDENTS to attend games as those that do ATTEND games are much more likely to buy season tix once they become alumni vs those that were not engaged in football while they went to schoo. The challenge now is that on many campuses, attending sporting events is not a priority for a growing number of students...as it seems many prefer to sit in their dorm/apartment and just stare at their phones/tablets/computers. Obviously, having an on-campus stadium helps with student attendance and one hopefully sees that payoff for decades to come when some (not all or even a majority) of them become season tix holders and boostes.
