  1. UCF has been winning divisional and conf titles on a regular basis since 2005...and we did it again already in 2018. That's a pretty nice long "up cycle"...as the bulls are still waiting for their first EVER title of any sort (you have to hit a few before you can even call it a cycle).
  2. I hope your leaders never ask for your opinion as you know "too much" common sense already.
  3. True...as I obviously could have included both of UCF's BCS/NYD6 Titles over past 5 years too...but I was focused on regular season titles.
  4. But according to your fans, AAC is garbage and no way would have they supported CUSA Football if you got left behind Cinci and Louisville that bolted to join the Big East. bulls had 2 recruiting classes in Feb 2004 and Feb 2005 with the BCS "recruiting" advantage since the BCS Big East invited them in Nov 2003 and it certainly showed on the field...as many of those same recruits were attracted to that program because of the BCS label but probably would have chosen another school without it.
  5. 2 different titles, 2 different trophies...as some years, UCF didn't win a Conf Title even when they won a divisional title (2005 and 2012) while 2 years in 2013 and 2014, AAC did not have divisions so only conf titles were earned. I will list the same for usf if/when they ever win a divisional or conf championship.
  6. My response was your quote on how its hard to do year after year and that UCF's success run will be over (maybe soon?). I just noted that UCF has enjoyed a lot of success since 2005 and has show that on a regular basis that UCF fights for divisional and/or conf titles, regardless of conf.
  7. Good point as I will now go back to 2005 when both UCF and usf joined new conferences and post all of those divisional and conf championships for each team: 2005: UCF Divisional Championship 2007: UCF Divisional Championship 2007: UCF Conference Championship 2010: UCF Divisional Championship 2010: UCF Conference Championship 2012: UCF Divisional Championship and then of course since both teams joined the same conf in 20013: 2013: UCF: AAC Championship: O'Leary (no divisions that season) 2014: UCF: AAC Championship: O'Leary (no divisions that season) 2017: UCF: AAC Divisional Championship Frost 2017: UCF: AAC Championship Frost 2018: UCF: AAC Divisional Championship: Heupel Thats a heck of a lot of trophies for UCF and not one for usf...as for one team its almost the norm to play for Conf Championships on a regular basis while the other hasn't even won a divisional title, ever.
  8. UCF and the bulls have been conf members since 2013 and here are the titles won by team/coach: 2013: UCF: AAC Championship: O'Leary (no divisions that season) 2014: UCF: AAC Championship: O'Leary (no divisions that season) 2017: UCF: AAC Divisional Championship Frost 2017: UCF: AAC Championship Frost 2018: UCF: AAC Divisional Championship: Heupel One team with 3 different HC's won divisional and conf titles while the other is still waiting even for their first ever divisional championship, let alone conf championship, in their team's history. Maybe UCF's investment in on-campus facilities has helped attract slightly better recruits and help bring in more donor $$$ over the years? UCF's has under construction a new football building plus is adding their 8th premium club upgrade to Spectrum Stadium since 2015. Of course, UCF just received a 7 figure donation from a UCF Grad couple to build recovery cove which will be added right next to the stadium, their new nutrition center and practice fields. https://twitter.com/UCFDannyWhite/status/1063475817546682368 Winning is REALLY hard to do...regardless what conf or level a team is at but at least UCF is investing in more and more on-campus amenities to not only bring in more revenue but also, hopefully attract future student-athletes (and coaches too), that want to take advantage of what UCF has to offer.
  9. That was certainly a dig at Miami and the bulls. It really was an amazing 36 hours plus on UCF's campus with College Football Live on Friday then overnight/early AM camping out for 3 hour Game Day on Saturday AM and then the 3 1/2 hr ABC Prime Time game on Saturday night. Clip is here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6efH0gIKNbY
  10. bulls were invited to join the BCS Big East back in Nov 2003...and then enjoyed 2005-2013 of BCS Membership, plus, benefited from exit payments from others who left the Big East. Plus, for a school founded in the 1950's and located in a large metro area, there are boosters and sponsors who could have helped out too. Meanwhile in Orlando, UCF was playing Football in the MAC and played Basketball and others sports in the ASUN, yet UCF planned and built both a 45,000 seat on-campus stadium (already upgraded multiple times and will be up-graded AGAIN this off-season with another East Side Club Expansion) AND a 10,000 seat on-campus arena at the SAME TIME...as those facilities opened up on-time and on-budget just 6 days apart in 2007. If UCF could do the above...almost anyone can build an on-campus stadium (many other schools have built new on-campus stadiums across the country since 2007).
  11. UCF especially selected Musco "Green" Lighting for their on-campus stadium as their computer generated lighting system focuses almost ALL the lighting on the field with very little "light pollution/spill over" as UCF wanted to be "good neighbors" to all the home developments North and East of their stadium.
  12. Disagree...as a young up and comer will be YOUR AD's "guy"...something Charlie was not (hired by a predecessor). Everyone in the "biz" understands that as you always want to work for the AD that hired you because your HIS guy. (Also, Charlie has the most friendly buyout in all of P6 of just $200,000 so that will probably be a factor too).
  13. That's the key now...as AD's want to hire someone's OFFENSE and if you hire an OC (who actually calls plays) and/or a HC who calls Offensive Plays (formerly was an OC), you get that HC's offense. For many programs...(especially mid level P5 and top G5) gone are the days of hiring a DC as a head coach and just letting them hire an OC of his choice (who might bolt in a year). Heck...the NFL is doing that now in San Fran and with the LA Rams...GRAB the offense you want.
  14. He wrote a feature article on the AAC Conf Game he attended the other day: https://www.tampabay.com/sports/2018/11/02/ucf-the-underdog-that-everyone-loves-to-hate/
  15. Dogs are soooooo loyal and yes, dogs (and sometimes, yes, other pets) do help save many lives....as you rescue one and they will rescue you right back.
  16. When Louisville was #6 in the nation (at the time) in AAC (along with your team) and then finished the season at 12-1, their lone loss (at home no less) was to UCF, who ran thru the conf undefeated (lone loss that year was to #4 South Carolina by 3 pts) and finished the season #10 after beating Big 12 Champion Baylor. UCF has been a conf member for 5 plus years with the bulls and UCF has 3 conf titles...while the bulls have yet to even win a divisional title....which should be so easy to do right? Especially since this was an inferior conf and you came over from a powerful BCS Conf.
  17. Ok...but here is the live camera feed of your current Divisional and Conf Championship Trophy Case
  18. Nope...just a reminder that you wasted an amazing opportunity after getting a BCS Invite back in the Fall of 2003 to where you are today.
  19. Isn't that THE problem...because even with Flowers at QB, you still never won a divisional title let alone a conf title...yet UCF has done that over and over again with SIX different QB's since 2005: 2005: Divisional Title (Moffett QB) 2007: Divisional and Conference Championship (Israel QB) 2010: Divisional, Conference and Liberty Bowl Championship (Godfrey QB) 2012: Divisional Title (Bortles) 2013: Conference and Fiesta Bowl Championships (Bortles) 2014: Shared Conference Title (Holman QB) 2017: Divisional, Conference, Peach Bowl and National Championship (Milton) 2018: To be determine UCF has built a solid PROGRAM (on and off the field)...while the bulls have had some good teams in their past but they have nothing in their program to show for it. Any smart betting man will probably put their $$$ on UCF achieving more over the next decade or two than say the bulls...just based on past success.
  20. Last 2 out of 3 Black Friday Games at UCF have sold out. Date is just fine...plus, last year's game on ABC drew MILLIONS of viewers to this game (highest TV rated game ever for AAC Conf Game or even AAC Champ Game)
  21. Guess you are the only one in that class or even the industry that doesn't realize the impact of students attending sporting events WHILE they are in school and how it correlates to their donor percentages/levels afterward.
  22. First one was done by Sports Illustrated some 20 plus years ago and still rings true in most Sports Marketing Classes/Courses...let alone anecdotal evidence from AD's, Sales Managers, etc...(every buyer has a profile now).
  23. That's the short-sighted view. College Football season ticket sales studies show that alumni who attended games while as student are MUCH MORE LIKELY to become future season tix holders/donors AFTER graduation. That's why student attendance is soooooooooooo important for AD's and Booster Clubs...because those that show up, a percentage of them will become the future season tix holders/donors (much higher percentage vs those students who were not engaged in attending sporting events while they were in school).
  24. True...but the #1 activity/event by FAR for most Universities for alumni to come back to campus are ON-CAMPUS Football Games...hence why so many Univ use those events to meet with key alumni individuals and even corporate/partner donors to help secure future donation $$$$, not just for athletics but for the Univ as a whole. Also, one of the most important studies show that alumni who VISIT campus are much more likely to donate $$$ vs those that don't...and if you don't have that #1 event that helps bring alumni back to campus (on-campus football games), then you start behind the 8-ball.
