  1. Remember, Judy hired Woolard from a school that didn't even have a Div I-A Football program. Might want to tell Judy this time around that Football experience/knowledge might come in handy as a AD...especially when Univ from your own conf are being courted to join the Big 12, Big Ten and ACC.
  2. True...but their season tix BEFORE any games were played in the new stadium were pathetic...as was the general fundraising. If FAU had 20,000-25,000 season tix sold for Year 1 of the stadium and less than 4,000 fans showed up for the last game...odds are he would still be at FAU...as all of those season tix sales would have been in the bank. Add in the debacle of his coaching hire of Pelini...to go with pathetic fundraising (after being there for so long), he had to go...regardless who was in the Univ Pres Office.
  3. You were only off by 11,000-12,000 or so...as the Dome was a ghost town for that game. If 15K ECU fans came into town, where did 11,000-12,000 or so go when the game was going on? Dome looked like a good Rays game crowd (appox 9,000-11,000 or so in stands)
  4. He was fired because FAU's $70 Million Stadium was drawing crowds approx just 4,000 fans per game at the end of YEAR 1 of the stadium. FAU is losing their shirts...and most put the blame on Angelos. http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/sports/college/fau-fires-ad-craig-angelos-who-had-a-hand-in-sha-1/nLhqm/ FAU was expecting a huge spike in attendance with the opening of the stadium but it was unable to sell out the Oct. 15 inaugural game. As the team lost games, attendance started to dwindle and fewer than 4,000 showed up for the final game of the season. The team finished 1-11. ----------------- Terrible fundraising reason by Angelos was one of several reasons why he was fired at FAU: http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/sports/college/fau-president-fired-ad-craig-angelos-because-of-fu/nN3F3/ Then add in Angelos choice to replace Howard as HC (Pelini) spent more time doing drugs in the Keys than trying to coach his team up. There is almost no way Angelos will ever be considered for the AD job at any reputable Univ now. (#2 position might be fine)
  5. I wanted to...many AAC alums live in orlando...but as long as Triple B is your only mod...no way would I ever invite them as long as that clown is in charge. You started a great board...but one person and one person only has basically stifled your growth over the last few years.
  6. So that's why all UCF could build was it's el' cheapo Wok! UCifer's opened their wallets and not much came out. What you obviously don't know and something Triple B doesn't want anyone else to know is that UCF became the first Univ in over 70 years that built an on-campus stadium and an on-campus arena at the same time. UCF's Arena opened up 6 days prior to the football stadium...as UCF used funds wisely to build 2 badly needed facilities at the very same time. So, you're patting your back for poor planning. Why did it take so long to get your arena? USF's Sun Dome opened 29 years before your arena. Since you were probably not even alive at the time, back in the late 1970's, the State of Florida (when it was legal to use state funds to build sport stadiums/arenas at Univ) approved two inflatable roofed arenas: The $9 Million, 11,000 seat O'Connell Center at UF and the $7.9 Million 10,000 plus seat Sundome at USF. Both of those Univ had a lot more clout than UCF, as UCF had just opened up their doors less than 10 years prior (1968 classes were started).
  7. So that's why all UCF could build was it's el' cheapo Wok! UCifer's opened their wallets and not much came out. Trip and GAUSFBull, this is the kind of nonsense I am talking about. It just irks me. USF doesn't even have a stadium yet and our fans make these kind of dumb statements that seem so childish. I mean, at least wait until USF builds something that is hopefully better than in Orlando before ragging on their stadium. I don't want anything like they either, but if USF gets a similar stadium for more money, it would be embarrassing. Need I remind you that this a ******** USF fan board. What the hell do you expect?? If you want unbiased opinions, go find a generic college sports board ........................................ please! Biased is fine. it's the sophomoric comments that make the fanbase look like a bunch of clueless middle schoolers with green and gold goggles. It gets embarrassing. Yeah, I don't think anyone at USF likes UCF's stadium but they have one. Some vendor makes an error on a shirt and wow, UCF is a bunch of idiots because of it. I wish USF had a bcs game invite to make a shirt for, no matter if it's misprinted. People talk about how classless Rutgers and UCF fans are and I am starting to see the same thing of Bulls fans and I don't like it, one bit. The stadium is a dump. Chain link fencing keeps the students in their sections like animals, fittingly perhaps. Not sure what you are talking about...there is a walkway around the entire stadium...that goes right thru the student section...and no, there is not a chain link fence that separates UCF's student section vs season ticket holder sections...its called an open aisle.
  8. So that's why all UCF could build was it's el' cheapo Wok! UCifer's opened their wallets and not much came out. What a shock...Triple B deleted/moved my post to educate the above poster. FYI...In addition to building an on-campus stadium, UCF became the first Univ in over 70 years to build an on-campus stadium AND an on-campus arena at the very same time. Arena opened up on Sept 9, 2007 and Stadium opened up on Sept 15, 2007. Point being...UCF needed to budget funds to have both projects completed on-time and on budget...as both facilities were desperately needed...and UCF did it without one dime of BCS $$. You can educate our posters in this thread or on The American Board ... Who beat you up when you were little?

  11. According to that chart, you started football in 1963. We started in 1997 ... Spin in however you wish. You can't read very well. Chart clearly states: Below lists each BCS (Bowl) school and the year it was founded. Don't think Georgia or Pitt had football programs in the 1700's. Next time, take off your haterade glasses and actually read what is actually posted.
  12. So that's why all UCF could build was it's el' cheapo Wok! UCifer's opened their wallets and not much came out. Well, at the same time BHNS was being built on UCF's campus, UCF was building the below facility, which opened up just 6 days prior to BHNS opening up...as UCF became the first Univ in over 70 years to build a stadium AND a new arena at the same exact time: UCF Arena (now CFE Arena) opened up to the public on Sept 9, 2007. BHNS opened on Sept 15, 2007
  13. New on-campus stadiums aren't free...but most of the big buck donors/friends of the Univ, etc....all seem to want to pitch in to get UH a new on-campus stadium...as they had to replace their 60 year old HS stadium (yes, it was initially built to host HS Football games), and almost all of their alumni didn't want the team to play permanently at the NFL Stadium (Reliant, which is an amazing facility), located just over 5 miles away from their campus. Alumni/sponsors seem to open up their wallets when new on-campus facilities are built.
  14. FYI...Univ of Houston today just released renderings of some of their premium seating options in their new 40,000 seat on-campus stadium opening next fall. See link for article and all renderings http://www.uhcougars.com/sports/cougar-pride/spec-rel/121313aaf.html Here are some:
  15. Bingo, not baiting. It was a hell of a game, and I seriously thought we'd break the decimal barrier. It's not a bad rating, considering the game jumped channels, but I thought it'd be better. Remember, ESPNews is in about 24 Million LESS homes than ESPN. (98 Million households for ESPN and 74 Million households for ESPNews) Add that the game started almost 20 mins late...and it didn't start on the scheduled network (scheduled for 8 pm on ESPN...didn't start till appox 8:20 pm on ESPNews) and it wasn't carried on ESPN till almost an hour after its scheduled start because of the Duke/Arizona hoop game started/ended WAY late... getting 1.2 Million people to find/watch this game was a good number. If this game would have started at 8 pm on ESPN...no doubt the numbers would have been hirer, maybe a lot higher.
  16. Ah...surprise surprise...Triple B works his magic again...sad to see what has become of this site...especially after all the hard work Bulliever has done for years, including special invites to specific UCF Fans.
  17. Over the past 15 or so years, these school have all built new on-campus stadiums (and/or currently under construction) or virtually renovated their current stadiums: 1998: Louisville 1998: Utah (renovated with help from the Olympics) 2000: SMU 2003: UCONN (off-campus) 2006: Stanford 2007: UCF 2009: Akron 2009: Minnesota 2011: FAU 2011 North Texas 2014: Baylor* 2014: Houston* 2014: Tulane* *opening in 2014 All you have to do is look at most college stadium histories...most were built small and very basic...but upgraded over decades and decades...but the key is to get something built so students/alumni/fans/players can experience "on-campus football games" and then upgraded it over time when the fan base builds.
  18. If you pay to the recruiting history at school's with major rivals..(i.e. FSU/UF, FSU/Miami, OSU/Michigan, USC/Clemson, etc...), those recruits that have verbaled to one of those schools, rarely change their commitments based off the results of that rivalry game. About 85%-90% of those that verbal, stick to their initial commitments. Sometimes those UNCOMMITTED recruits could be influenced by a game result...but in the end, most of your recruiting class is built over 8-12 months...and not after the results of one game.
  19. Over the past 15 or so years, these non-BCS programs (some moved up to BCS and then P5 Conferences), have all built new on-campus stadiums (and/or currently under construction) or virtually renovated their current stadiums: 1998: Louisville 1998: Utah 2000: SMU 2003: UCONN (off-campus) 2007: UCF 2009: Akron 2011: FAU 2011 North Texas 2014: Houston* 2014: Tulane* *opening in 2014 In a strange way, USF being in AAC might actually help get an on-campus stadium built...as since AAC won't be a P5 conf...USF might shoot for a 40,000 seat stadium (similar to Houston) that can easily be expandable if USF ever lands back into a P5 conf....as now the initial costs might be much lower vs if USF wanted to build a 50,000-55,000 seat stadium if they were still in a BCS/P5 conf. All you have to do is look at most college stadium histories...most were built small and very basic...but upgraded over decades and decades...but the key is to get something built so students/alumni/fans/players can experience "on-campus football games" and then upgraded it over time when the fan base builds.
  20. Were you at UCF yesterday? You have to hate Life and what makes College Football Gamedays great if you are complaining about the atmosphere on the UCF Campus that started at 11am and went way past midnight. And if you can afford a Garage or Lot D parking pass your tent and tailgate stuff is literally 2 minute walk from your car. UCF had well over 50,000 plus fans tailgating on campus yesterday.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGRZQ8XCtls&feature=youtu.be while this is USF's campus on their game days: Funny thing is, that isn't even the main USF campus! I tried to search "best usf campus photo" and yeah, it came up as the branch one. I just search "usf main campus on football game days" and this one came up:
  21. It was pretty obviously to anyone that knew a little iota about USF Conf History that he particular poster confused USF's 10 year membership in CUSA (1995-1996 season to 2004-2005) with USF Football Conf Membership...as USF was a CUSA Member for 10 years for all sports but football...as football didn't join CUSA till 2003...as USF Football was just a CUSA Member for 2 seasons. So yes, USF was a CUSA Member for 10 years (Olympic Sports) but just 2 years for football.
  22. Yes...you can tailgate basically ANYWHERE on campus. Boosters get the grass stadium lots to park/tailgate in close to the stadium...but the rest of the campus is basically a first come, first serve for any green spots or tailgating in lots. (Free parking in Red/Blue lots). Most UCF Boosters get to park/tailgate first at 8 AM in the football stadium, baseball stadium and softball stadium parking lots, regardless of kickoff time. Other areas, like Memory Mall, which is open to students and lower level boosters, has basically tent spots to avoid overcrowding and allow emergency personnel through...but all the other green areas on campus (closer to red/blue lots) are open for tailgating purposes. UCF Booster Parking
  23. Those are good seats...as even the top row of those 200 sections are only 45 rows off the field...as there isn't really a bad seat in the stadium. What was the face value on those tix?
  24. Thought most knew that on is board...maybe the previous poster is the only one.
