1. Complete list of all invitees http://www.thehogs.net/Draft/combine/2007invitees.php
2. 11 months of heat......you're refering to the 70 and 80 degree highs from the months of October to May as HEAT.  Have fun with your bag of rock salt.  ;D Hmmmmmm.........how often have we seen "70 and 80 degree highs" in those months (not counting December-February)? Give me a break....I remember almost dying of heat stroke in my pads in October, and November.  And I also remember it being wickedly hot & humid for Spring ball as well (March & April). There is virtually no relief in Central/South Florida from the heat. And by the way, rock salt?  Richmond aint exactly Detroit, bro.  We have all four seasons here, none of which are extreme.  It's the best of both worlds, weather-wise. hey know it all, you are wrong: Don't forget to list the Florida Stupidity, I mean HUMIDITY! 85 degrees in FLA in late fall or early spring...can feel damp, wet, and HOT! Give me 88-90 degrees in Southern Cal without barely ANY humidity...over almost anything in FLA.
3. dinning hall shouldnt be a priority Then you don't know college athletics.  All the big schools have dining and nutritional centers for their athletes. That's is true. UCF's one opens this Sept in their Athletic Village, where all the athletes live/work/train. PS. Smazz might be right that USF, at this time, might have other top priorities to complete first, but at least its on USF's "list" of other important projects.
4. Just another reason to never believe a coach, regardless what they say about wanting to coach at another school. Maybe sports writers will finally figure that out. http://seminoles.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/dawsey_lawrence00.html
5. Congrats in advance on the new addition. Yeah..Endymion was great when it went through Mid-City, but that area also got slammed by flooding and now worsening crime...and believe Endymion doesn't run through that area anymore. Just wait for another few years...and your child will be up on their own bench on top of a step ladder...catching zillions of beads. That's what I enjoyed the most...as most tourists have no clue that the parades are a BLAST for families too (especially in the neighborhoods).
6. Pass a good time! (Locals there know what it means!) Were you there for Bacchus on Sunday night? Who doesn't like throwing beads into Kongs mouth? Bacchus use to be my favorite parade when I lived in New Orleans...as my friends use to live right off Napoleon so I had the best "host house" (which meant food, BATHROOMS and PARKING!), and a huge neutral ground to hang out in (i.e. neutral ground in New Orleans means "median"...but they got their name "neutral ground" eons ago...as Italians/Irish/Black folk couldn't enter each others neighborhoods...so the kids would meet on the "neutral" ground which really didn't belong to any neighborhood.
7. Wrong. One option opens you up to collateral, law suits, liabilities, etc... No guarantee that you will make "money" as you say in this possible new venture. Don't be so blinded by an offer. As they say, the Devil is in the details...(something which many private owners do not like to disclose).
8. Does RMC set a record for most transfers on a squad? Believe that's his biggest problem...as he can't seem to recruit HS All-Star players to play in the Best (or Top 2-3) Basketball Conferences in the Nation. If he is just relying on cast-offs from other programs...that is a clear sign he can't recruit HS's at the Big East level. Don't think any team in the Big East (because its so good) can win without winning recruting wars in HS.
9. Only someone looking to "dump" a business puts a quick/fast deadline on a decision. If he can't wait so that an independent CPA can review/look over their company/bank records, etc...run for the DOOR!! If it was a good money maker with a bright future...an owner wouldn't look to JUMP SHIP now. Stay away...zillions of opportunities with REPUTABLE companies are out there...and if you are successful (sounds like you are), you will find them. Just say "thanks so much for the offer, but I've decided to go in a different direction"...and leave it at that.
10. True...but USF will still probably come close to setting a season tix sales record this fall with a VERY attractive home schedule. Remember, in 2006...USF had 14,000 "paid" season tickets sold...and 3,000 "freebies"....so if paid tickets reach 16,000 or so...that would be a nice jump.
11. Div I Athletics is a business...and when your business (Athletic Team) doesn't perform, that usually means a loss of ticket sales, donations, etc...and most schools (AD's and President) make changes to their "business" (i.e. Coaches) to try and improve their incoming revenue. Collegiate Athletics is a big-time business...that's why you have school after school trying to build the biggest/best facilities on earth...and spending $$$$$ like they were pennies. If revenue (or expected revenue) is down...and a program has short-falls...then yes...W/L record probably comes into play. Collegiate Athletics is almost like those that want to donate to Charities...as when the head of the Red Cross was "wasting" tons of $$$$$$ on himself and his friends...folks just STOPPED donating to the Red Cross...which hurt the Red Cross...so the Red Cross fired their top guy...earned their respect back...and now their donations are back up. Just follow the $$$$...and that's where most AD's will make their decisions.
12. Looks like some Va Tech fan is going around to various boards trying to scalp (I'm sure for a nice profit) his ACC Tournament Booklets. This Hokie fan even posted it on the UCF Board (maybe he thought UCF was located in St Pete...since many folks have no clue that the St Pete Times Forum is actually located in Tampa). http://ucf.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?fid=71&tid=89792220&mid=89792220&sid=908&style=2 PS. Want to MAKE money off the ACC Tournament? Easy...hang outside the Forum and wait for the LOSING Team's fans to exit...and offer face value (or even less) for their remaining tix....then rush over to the WINNING fans exiting, and they will GOBBLE them up in a heart beat for twice what you paid for them just minutes earlier.
13. He was arrested on other charges, but now with a DUI. Even if it was a DUI...would it matter? USF had a starting TE (Bleakley) arrested for a DUI this past fall (2 days after the McNeese St Game), and Leavitt still played him just days later in their next game vs FIU that Saturday (Bleakley did not start). DUI is no big deal to some coaches. PS. Didn't USF have a football coach recently arrested with a DUI as well?
14. Hey...now that you have Greg in this thread, ask him (for Triple B and others) which game had the largest ACTUAL attendance in 2005 for USF? WVU or UCF? I've told many USF fans to do that...but no one seems willing to want to ask Greg, Brett or others about the facts. Wonder why?
15. SB...double-check again with your Associate AD. USF's new drug policy (all sports) calls for a 20% suspension for a 2nd failed drug test...which in football...only comes out to a 2 game suspension...down from a SIX Game suspension...when the penalty was 50% of any season. SB..nevermind...here's Greg's blog on USF's new drug policy which started last fall (too late for the previous stoners) September 12, 2006 Questions and, yes, even answers I've been asking about suspensions to no avail since the first week of preseason practice, and Monday brought a significant step, with USF acknowledging that three players -- running back Ricky Ponton, receiver Jackie Chambers and defensive end Josh Julmiste -- were on "indefinite suspension" for an unspecified violation of team rules. The Bulls aren't confirming any specifics beyond that, so we don't know exactly when they'll be allowed to play again, but we know they won't be there for the Central Florida game on Saturday. Since they've already missed two games, "indefinite" could mean just about anything, but if the suspensions are related to USF's since-amended substance abuse policy, it could mean another four games out for three key players. Under this year's policy, a second violation of the policy -- either a second positive drug test, or failure to comply with counseling requirements after a first positive -- results in suspension for 20 percent of the season. The fact that those three are still suspended after three games would seem to indicate USF is sticking with last year's penalty of a half-season, or six games, that is, if the suspensions are related to the substance abuse policy. Sticking with the harsher punishment makes sense to me: USF is already getting flak for lowering its second-offense penalty from 50 to 20 percent, which associate AD Barry Clements explained in detail in Wednesday's paper. If they were to lessen the penalties on these three to this year's standard, it looks as if the penalty was lessened with an eye toward these suspensions, something Clements firmly denied. If the three players are to miss six games, that would include USF's first two Big East games, key home contests against a hot Rutgers team and Connecticut. My next question is whether the Bulls would give Chambers a redshirt, since the junior has a year for the taking and his position is the deepest of the three impacted by these suspensions. Before fall drills, I'd asked Jim Leavitt about Chambers' recovery from the knee surgery he required after spring football, and he'd mentioned the possibility of a redshirt then. By comparison, running back and defensive end could use Ponton and Julmiste, and sooner than Oct. 14 against North Carolina for certain.
16. 2nd chance? Josh Julmiste had 5 lives! 1) Arrested in HS...then signed with USF. (Hint 1...Most kids are not ARRESTED in HS.) 2) Arrested at USF...and kicked out of the program. (Hint...2 arrests...bad DUDE...probably wise to let him go). 3) Probably concern for possible drug use. (Hint 3) 4) Initiate drug test...Josh failed it (Hint 4). 5) Tell player not to do it again. 6) Player fails a 2nd drug test (Hint 5). 7) Suspend player for 50% of the season..tell player not to do drugs again. 8) Player fails 3rd drug test. Per University Athletic Rules...player must be kicked out of the program (again in this case). (Hint 6...he is a waste). 2nd chance? Dude had a TON of chances...and wasted every one. Go back to the trailer and erector set.  No one cares about your opinion.  Shouldn't you be taking your sister out for hamburgers tonight anyways? Tampajo... That's a weak juvenile comeback. Knight Light may be a UCF fan, but he's right in this case. Josh Julmiste should never have had all those chances. That's disgraceful.  > Thanks. Once facts are entered in any discussion, it certainly helps to make a point as many sometimes some have zero/no clue about a players past actions.

18. PB...FYI...CJL did not kick Julmiste out of the program. Julmiste was kicked out of the program because per USF ATHLETIC Dept RULES, where it states that if ANY USF Athletes in ANY sport fails 3 drug tests, you are immediately kicked out said program. Believe Windbane (or name like that) was trying to make the point earlier in the thread to you. Now CJL can kick a player out of his program for ANY reason...and could of done that same for Josh...by not letting him enroll at USF because of his prior arrest...not allowed him back on the team after he was kicked off because of the theft case...and could of kicked him off after his first sign of drug use (before his first test), then could of done the same after his first positive drug test...or even after his 2nd failed drug test, but never did.
19. Tip: Just keep this kid away from Macy's (and maybe his old girlfriend too). http://www.sptimes.com/2006/10/19/Sports/Murdock_charged_with_.shtml http://www.badjocks.com/archive/2006/oct1506.htm http://www.wistv.com/Global/story.asp?S=5555687&nav=0RaPHD4W
20. FYI...the Orlando Magic's WNBA Miracle Team hired Peck in the summer of 1998...and let her Coach the Purdue team that '98-99 season...and that's when Purdue (under Peck) on their National Title in April 1999. Peck joined the Miracle just days later...and coached there till she was hired away to UF. Believe in 3 years as Head Coach of the Miracle...that expansion team went to the playoffs I think once...but believe UF even offered her MORE money ($2 Million Contract) so she bolted back to College. Peck was only out of College Ball "on the court" for just 3 years almost to the day...but obviously paid a lot of attention to College ball...because as GM of the Miracle and Head Coach...she was involved in their draft picks of "college players".
21. Here's the State's link for Speciality License Plate Sales over the past 5 years: http://www.hsmv.state.fl.us/specialtytags/tagsales2006.pdf It's amazing how you can find links to stuff you don't make up... Go ahead...ask Greg...ask Brett...quick email should do that trick...and you too will get same info!
22. Maybe the USF Boosters were smarter than your AD? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writers/seth_davis/02/27/huggs.sfla/index.html http://www.tboblogs.com/index.php/sports/comments/what_about_bob/ Huggins ended up in NO WHERE LAND (aka Manhattan, KS) and ended up with a Top 10 recruiting class. What could he of done working out of TAMPA, FL instead of Manhattan, KS? Scary to think. Thankfully, USF's current Coach has to rely mostly off cast-offs from other I-A schools for players...as it seems that many HS kids today are not "buying" what he is selling.
