  1. When I played highschool and D3 ball I used just a normal Oakley visor and it was impossible to keep it from getting smudges and whatnot on it during a game. I could only imagine how terrible that thing would be, especially during night games with bright lights shining down on you.
  2. I saw a master list of tampa businesses that were looted and/or damaged, but I can't seem to find it now. It was above 50 though. The majority of the damaged/looted businesses were in the "university area" though, including Walmart, target, AT&T, and champs, university mall. Thats all I can remember off the top of my head. They other hotspot was the busch gardens area.
  3. I want to go to the game, but I am worried about them announcing the game will be played with no fans so I have been holding off on purchasing flight/hotel.
  4. Swine flu would be a great comparison, however, the media's different reaction to the two viruses makes it an invalid comparison. Per the CDC website: According to that quote, the virus affected and killed more people in America than the Coronavirus has worldwide (thus far). During the Swine flu pandemic, the media downplayed the virus. I saw a report a couple weeks ago that compared the media mentions of swine flu to the media mentions of coronavirus, but couldn't find it again just now when I looked. So I will provide another article supporting my claim (Link). Essentially the report I saw claimed that the media mentioned swine flu a few million times (I believe it was around 4 million). It claimed that the media has mentioned the Coronavirus over 1.1 billion times. The argument could be made that the media is more easily accessed now than during the swine flu, but that is a pretty stark difference even after taking that into consideration. The key difference between the media's reaction to the viruses is that they had a president they liked during the Swine flu, and didn't want to hurt his reelection chances, and have a president they don't like during the current corona virus. At the height of the Swine Flu, the CDC recommended that US schools be shut down, people should work from home, and that people should quarantine. The media (and Americans) mostly ignored this. By the time the CDC made the same recommendations for the Coronavirus, grocery store shelves were already empty, businesses and schools were already closed, and America was in full panic mode because of the narrative being pushed by the media. Sorry for hijacking the thread, this whole not being around other people thing is killing me
  5. I don't think he has been perfect in his handling of Covid-19, but I also think he has done a good job. No other President has ever had to deal with a situation like this (that I know of). So it is really hard to compare his performance. Compared to other countries' responses though, I feel he is at the top. One thing I will say though, is that Trump closed travel to China back in January, a move that the leading Democratic Presidential candidate opposed. Trump restricted travel to and from Europe earlier this month and Joe Biden tweeted this: So people that make the argument that Trump has handled this poorly should consider how many additional cases and deaths the country could have if our borders were wide open and travel to/from China and Europe, both epicenters of this virus, was not restricted. It's easy to criticize someone when you're not in their position and don't have the responsibility that the other person has. Anyways, happy birthday @CousinRicky! Hope you stay safe and get to see your family soon!
  6. Disclaimer: My opinion - The media and most of the far left only care about making the President look bad. If the economy tanks and we cannot recover, it makes the President look bad. If people have to be locked up in their homes for months on end, it makes the President look bad. If no stimulus bill is passed (because a bunch of unrelated nonsense is included in the bill), it makes the President look bad. The media doesnt care about their readers. The far left senate and house don't care about their constituents. All they care about is making the President look bad to try to hurt his reelection chances, regardless of how many people suffer or are killed in the process. The media is already circulating the idea of not airing his daily pressers, because the ratings are too high and his approval rating of how he has handled this virus are too high. What other reason would there be for them to not want to air the pressers? Rant over.
  7. Right leaning libertarian here. I do not support the government handing out money. However, they are essentially returning the money they took from my paycheck last year. I don't see this as a socialist program, but rather proof that the government is taxing its citizens too high. Additionally, I have a heart. People who would otherwise be working, paying their bills on time, and putting food on the table are now without a job, with no way to pay their bills, and no way to put food on the table because of something that was out of our control. Rather than making them suffer, I am 100% behind funds going to them to help them eat. That being said, I fully believe that the money that is being given out should instead be put in the unemployment fund. People who I just described, who are actually struggling could receive these funds via unemployment. People who are lucky, such as myself, and are still working wouldn't (and shouldn't) be receiving the $1,200. Also, in case you didn't know, the $1,200 is based on your 2019 AGI on your tax return. The amount is reduced $50 for every $1,000 above $75,000. So anyone making over $99k a year will be receiving nothing.
  8. If anybody else comes across these I would be interested in buying one depending on price.
  9. If anyone needs help with accounting, don't let me know because we are still required to put in 60 hour minimums for the foreseeable future
  10. It's official! I am your newest season ticket holder. You can find me in 109 S1. Go bulls!
  11. Full article found here: https://www.tampabay.com/news/business/2020/03/05/coming-to-tampa-international-airport-a-giant-flamingo-sculpture/
  12. There are also a lot of good bars/restaurants at international plaza which is right next to the airport.
  13. Hmm, I thought he had already been hired by UF as a defensive analyst. Guess that was just KB.
  14. USF could also mean the University of San Fransisco, which uses a variation of USF on their jerseys and has similar colors. It could be to differentiate ourselves from them too.
  15. I will probably do another round of orders this summer when work slows down.
  16. This team is always solid. They beat Michigan this past December, who was the #1 ranked D3 team in the nation (ACHA) at the time and is currently the #2 team in the nation.
  17. Am I the only one in love the with the jerseys they’re wearing today?
  18. He was too talented and threatened the possibility that CCS would get fired and therefore be entitled to his buyout. Couldn’t risk playing him and missing that sweet payday
  19. Didn't know you did this. Great work! Sorry for stealing your thunder haha.
  20. It was 38 degrees when I walked to the gym this morning. supposed to be colder tonight.
  21. We just picked up another wide receiver too. Was a former app st. commit but CJS flipped him
  22. I know nothing about this kid, but it seems like people think he could make an immediate impact on the OL.
  23. I would gladly take him! If we don't get any offensive linemen from the portal, we are going to need both quarterbacks cause whoever the starter is will be injured by the end of the third game
