  1. I wish I had my 37 year old self to run in my weekly full court hoops games every Sunday morning. Just wait until you are in your 50s... Now I'm wondering what the average age of TBP membership is. My guess is somewhere around 55.
  2. This is too dumb to be funny. Could the NET be too biased toward strength of schedule? How about at least having a winning record to get invited to the NIT?
  3. Carla's behind the head no-look pass was !!I It was SC Top 10 worthy in my humble opinion.
  4. Yep. These are great questions. There's almost no way that ESPN and other broadcasters aren't asking the same things and trying to figure out how to deal with what they see as the dead weight.
  5. Winning cures everything, including negativity on TBP. Love it! Go Bulls!!
  6. It's a gold rush out there for sure. Can ghost towns be far behind?
  7. Second half defense won this game. ECU scored more in the first quarter than they did in the second half. Loved seeing Wilson pick their star player's pocket and go coast-to-coast for a nice layup.
  8. Not saying we should be ranked, but I'm pretty sure today's team would win most (all?) of the 5 games they lost earlier this season when Coach and the team were figuring out the chemistry. I'm looking forward to seeing if they can keep this thing rolling all the way to a conference championship.
  9. From Joey's article... "According to OptaStats, Pryor was the only NCAA Division I/NBA/WNBA player over the past quarter-century to have a game with 25-plus points, 5-plus steals, 5-plus blocks, 90-percent free-throw shooting (minimum 15 attempts), and one or fewer turnovers."
  10. Rant Alert... Not to be Captain Obvious, but the whole "P#" thing was purely a marketing ploy (ESPN) to create a de facto separate higher-level, professional college sports (a.k.a. college football) divi$ion. For most fans this was completely unnecessary because we could already see which schools were the power programs without the "P#" name. Calling them "Power" conferences and relegating others (including USF) as just a "Group" of conferences definitely stuck like a bad nickname. So the marketing ploy worked I guess. And, yes, I'm salty about it.
  11. They were counting with their hand down by their waist. Closed fist, open fingers, etc. No arm movement though.
  12. Side Note on free throws... I've been counting Pryor's free throw times lately, and I watched the referees' counts closely on all his FT attempts today. Even though it seems like he's close to a 10 second violation, he's pretty consistently around 7 seconds, so he actually has 2 seconds to spare. Whatever works for him I hope he keeps doing it!
  13. Also, I'm pretty sure the pre-season first place prediction was well before anyone knew our superstar scoring machine would be out for the season. Predictions are often wrong. Nothing to be embarrassed about.
  14. If still no takers, I'll be more than happy to attend in the club instead of my STM general admission seats.
  15. One great thing about Jose's teams is that he has the luxury of depth. He doesn't recruit scrubs. All of the ladies on this year's team are very good D1 players. Otherwise, they wouldn't be on the roster. This team is obviously not the greatest USF squad of all time, so we'll see how it all shakes out the rest of the season. I still think they can win the conference and go dancing. (Oh, and for the record, Brito is a very good player that had a couple of bad games. Let's not judge her too harshly here. I'm sure she'll get back to being the Carla we love soon enough.)
  16. For what it's worth, the by line has a link to the writer's bio. He is apparently a huge UCLA fan.
  17. Last two paragraphs: "If that happens, expect to see ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips on the phone with the American Conference or another Group of Five conference to merge and keep the members where the television deal is not jeopardized. At this point, there would not be too many teams interested in a conference that's a lot closer to looking like the Pac-12 than any other Power Five conference in college football.'" I'd hope that USF (a) would be at the top of the list and (b) would be interested.
  18. Coming into the season I doubt any of us would have predicted that Pryor would be our star player this year. The announcers likened him to Chris "Bird Man" Anderson (https://www.nba.com/stats/player/2365/career), and I definitely see similarities. Pryor is an exciting dude to watch on the court. Can't wait to see what he does for us in future games.
  19. Looked like an offense-defense substitution for Romi with 4 fouls. Aarnio definitely had fresh legs for defense at the end.
