  1. Maybe we should replace him with Bench. That is some quality material there.
  2. I remember thinking several in-conf games were W's even in our hayday, but no. Stability has never been a given for us IMO. This year, we cruised in our cupcake game and actually put up a heck of a fight vs the #10 team. I like our chances this season, we're showing more stability than I've seen in 3 years...so far. But yet it feels like a game of Jenga for some reason.
  3. ...and I just don't get that. Why would the networks want to stretch out our name and make it look ridiculous? Do the networks want to minimize us? I believe these things are calculated decisions by somebody and for some reason.
  4. I am exhausted by years of hope, I just want results. We are still 2 or 3 games away from where the wheels start coming off in seasons past and this team is getting no more hope capital out of me. Truth is, I would trade an FSU win for a conference championship 8 days a week. We need to win this conference and win it soon. We are good in the big OOC wins department.
  5. I can't seem to get over this. For the past few seasons I have noticed that we are constantly labeled S. Florida, instead of USF. It looks like crap on TV. To make matters worse, it seems that C. Florida gets to be labeled UCF everywhere. I am a believer in "words matter" Nobody labels Southern California as S. California. I think it cheapens us and makes us appear less than. So, I have a few questions. #1 Is it our administration that determines our label? If so, why can't they insist on USF? #2 Is it the networks? If so, why does UCF not get slapped with C. Florida? I firmly believe that this is a big deal and says more about how we are perceived than most realize. It reeks of the directional school image that nobody wants to have.
  6. You throw all that crap out with Rivalry games .... 2013 should have been a lesson there. So they are our rivals now? I got yelled at last time I suggested such.
  7. Turned it on, their starting QB is hurt, arm in a sling. Beating them this year is looking easier and easier as each week goes by.
  8. Bench! For being able to contain himself, knowing that his coach does not like him and that he is the better quarterback.
  9. No, that is a good college defense playing an NFL ready back. Mr. Cook was pretty amazing.
  10. I think anything less than a 20 point loss should be considered a win, or, at a minimum, improvement! I mean, to play a power five team and lose by less than two touchdowns is something that a school like ours should look at with pride. Bowling green beat them today. Does that change your answer that a 19 point loss should be a "win"? There's a huge difference in playing a team that hasn't lost a regular season game in 2+ seasons, and playing a team that got killed by Bowling Green See, Apis picked up my sarcasm.
  11. Not sure if serious but I think you are 100% right. Flowers was bad today, not just kind of bad, but bad. Two of his lazy passes should have been intercepted. The stats will lie when you look at them. The young man puts too much air under all of his throws and does not possess the ability to put velocity on a throw when needed. We will get lucky from time to time due to his ability to extend plays and hitting an open receiver. As the announcers stated several times, he is a running back that throws sometimes. Really bad, really??? And you're going to say that his stats are lying do there is no way to argue with you... Ridiculous Passing 125 Comp-Att 12-24 Yards per pass 4.6 Interceptions thrown 1 Half of the yards were on one play, 3/4 of the completions were 5 yards or less. Yes, the bad stats above don't really explain how bad it was. 1st Downs 11 3rd down efficiency 1-13 Sooooo bad.

  13. Some USF fans. Others expect victory and get a little aggravated when the opportunity is squandered Yes, save the "we played with heart" speeches for the FCS teams.
  14. If we don't beat Maryland, the board needs to move to DEFCON 2.
  15. Will the bottom still be behind us if we only have 5 wins this year?

  17. You have one of those too? I had one of those, but the she turned into my disinterested wife, go figure.
  18. I want to be positive and enjoy my team, but saying things like our offense and defense is just as good or better than the 2009 team boarders of lunacy. Dismantling a team that some high school teams might actually beat does not catapult us up to 2009 levels. I just don't understand the logical thought process here.
  19. Do you have a particular favorite restroom, or do you stop at random ones along the way. I find Cracker Barrell restrooms are typically convenient to a highway drive and clean and comfortable. Sounds like another solid thread topic for JTrue to sponsor. Sweet baby Jesus, what has this thread turned into?
  20. Yeah and how our finger "horns" scream Texas Hook 'Em Horns...get over it. We're cattle.. I will not... Truth be told, the fingers are not my favorite either, not a fan of plagiarism in any form. Saying we are cattle is not an excuse for a lack of creativity or research to see what other schools are already doing. Wait, are you the one that came up with the purple shirts for the ECU game? If so, your comment makes a little more sense. Purple shirts? Don't know the exact history of USF and "purple" but I believe purple was our founding color. Purple homecoming shirts were chosen for our homecoming game vs ECU last year.....until someone noticed AFTER the shirts were made that the colors were also the same school colors of ECU and what the visitors would be wearing. The mistake was rectified in USF fashion....by purchasing new shirts with our current colors... at an additional expense of course. Thanks for that reminder I had *almost* purged it. ...and after a couple thousand were handed out, if I recall.
  21. Hard for me to understand why Temple is not #1. Also, I don't understand why UCF is ahead of teams that won and they should be behind SMU.
  22. Now there is an idea that needs to be sent to CWT I fully support this idea!
