  1. And as we saw today, there arent even half of 17 teams better than Houston. So much for that being a midget. In fact, the so called G5 is 3-0 over the P5 in new years bowls since the designation
  2. Youre a fool if you think Houston has no shot against Oklahoma. Not saying they will, but what makes you say they have no shot? It makes me question if youve watched them play
  3. USF was 5th in the AAC vs WKU 1st in CUSA. Temple was 3rd in the AAC based on record, and lost to Toledo who had the best record in the MAC. Connecticut was tied for 7th, lost a tight match to Marshall who was 2nd in the CUSA, and lastly, Tulsa was tied for 7th as well, lost a tight match with VT. Oh yea, no excuse for Cincy, but they were 6th in the AAC going against the #1 MWC team. So yes, the AAC has played badly, but you guys know that if you put #1 vs #1, #2 vs #2, ect, against any g5 conference, the AAC would win the majority of its matchups. Guys I am not saying that the AAC is playing well, but you still have to factor in who we as a conference have played, and that none of the top dogs in the AAC west (easily the stronger side) have played yet.
  4. You said Calloway and Bethel will be here next year. Can anybody confirm this or have insight on this?
  5. I still think the AAC is the best G5 conference. But I will tone down my claims that we are close to P5 status with a few adds
  6. For the first time, I actually agree with you. I was one of those guys screaming AAC supremacy before bowl season... We as a conference are getting exposed right now.
  7. Kevin Bronson as a freshman towards the end really impressed me. He needs to man up, and take over the DT spot, and in combo with Senat, we can have a very strong DL. Idk where Mike Love was this year.. I really expected him to start getting more time / contribute more.
  8. If you guys actually watched the game, officiating did Temple in... No bias, on Temple's onside kick within one score and 2:30 left in the game, Temples kicker literally LANDED on the football, but after a pile fight, Toledo came out with the football! Not to mention there was 0 stoppage to review after the play. Granted Toledo RB Kareem Hunt put the icing on the cake that Temple should not have allowed, but that onside was the turning point. Terrible call, and who knows what happens if they properly give Temple the ball within one score
  9. The pulse of the fan base here seems to think Flowers better than anybody on the planet. He played great this year and I really liked him. But he DEFINITELY has flaws. A smart coach gives everyone a shot throughout the spring. I honestly feel in my gut that Flowers will win the QB battle. But give an honest QB battle that lets both QBs play, and let Woulard play some of the towson game
  10. I think youre referering to 'calibull' because ive never had strong opinions on QF either way. Hes usually the big QF supporter. Imo, hes a gamer without natural throwing talent. Hes almost Tebow like, where he just tries and wills his team to a win
  11. Tell me how Temple is an underdog vs Toledo??? Not to mention Memphis is playing a bad Auburn team... Just because its SEC doesnt mean its good. I think we go 6-2 in bowl season as a conference, with uconn losing to marshall, and we drop ONE between Houston -FSU, or Tulsa-VT. I think Cincy, USF, Navy, Memphis and Navy all win.
  12. I CANNOT believe I am agreeing with you, but I actually am. Flowers has been doing awesome lately, and I don't think we should fool around with something that's working so well. The option with Mack and Flowers back there is dangerous
  13. i thought about #6, yes in the AP poll. The CFP committee has shown it is not as loving to the G5, so probably around #7 or 8. But this year had a lot of 1 loss teams... Most years have a lot more 2 loss teams, paving the way for an undefeated AAC team with a tough OOC schedule to make it
  14. We would have beaten ranked FSU, Temple, Memphis (right before their upset of ole miss), Navy, and then Houston in the CCG. 3-0 vs P5 with 5 ranked wins? We would have been top 6 for sure. Id like to say top 4, but i just cant say that with certainty
  15. the landscape has changed a lot in 3 years. They backed out before UCF won the Fiesta bowl. Before multiple AAC teams in the top 25 pretty much dominating the G5. Before when the MWC looked to be deeper than Boise and SDSU. Tell me, if they join, who is going to stand out in that conference? It would essentially be a weaker western Cusa
  16. i agree with your premise. No team outside the AP top 25. Forget this committee crap, it clearly is biased for the P5. Im pleasently surprised its not SEC biased as well though
  17. 6 teams while ideal, (conf champs and a G5) is a messy bracket. Im not a fan of the bye week in a college bracket. So go 8, with conf champs, g5 champ (basically AAC champ lol), and 2 at larges
  18. Tulsa isnt the problem in this conference, Tlane is. Tulsa went 3-0 vs the G5, has a high powered offense, and has a very good basketball team. They have a history of winning the Cusa. Tulane has always sucked in football. Always sucked in basketball. And overall, doesnt bring much to the conference at all. You guys have heard me im sure, here is my pick for expansion. Drop Tulane. Add Boise, Colorado st, and Marshall. If we want 16, which i think we could / should, lets get Northern Illinois, and look into picking between Nevada, Toledo, or san diego st. This conference would look great for east west divisions, and im positive those programs would accept. West: Houston, SMU, Colorado st, Boise, Tulsa, Northern Illinois, Navy, San Diego st East : USF, UCF, Cincy, Uconn, Marshall, Memphis, Temple, ECU That is a stacked conference to me. Not quite P5 yet, but for sure will not be compared to G5 anymore, because i would not be able to name a conference close to us in terms of strength essentially giving us a NY6 spot every year
  19. Tulane should be dropped from the AAC. they suck in all sports, and always have
  20. You guys do not get it at all. the AAC is not on G5 level. We are a middle ground between the p5 and crap 4. I dont know what the record ended as, but the AAC more than half way through the season was 12-1 vs the rest of the G4. The one loss came from UCF to FIU. My point is, if the MWC, MAC, CUSA, and sun belt want to do that, thats fine. But as Mike Aresco, I would know my leagues worth is above the sun belt. Let this sink in, UCF, ECU, Memphis, and Houston all left an established C USA just to be in a conference with USF, UConn, Temple, and Cincy. Certainly we can yank Marshall, Boise, and Air Force while dropping Tulane to create the premier middle teir conference. So my point is, the AAC can bridge the gap between the P5 and G4, and has a chance to have a team make a playoff in chaotic years. Im content in this conference, without a 'G5 championship' that you guys lump us with. If I were Mike Aresco, id drive that point home that we are not G5, and pick up programs that will emphasize that statement. It would also show we can pick up anybody we want. Just my 2 cents
  21. The SEC is no longer the best conference anymore. Its gotta be a 3 way tie between the big 10, pac 12, and sec
  22. The AAC IS strong enough currently to make the playoffs, as Memphis was being mentioned as a possible canidate if they won out. Currently, the perception of our conference is already on the upswing, so its not as foriegn of an idea to mention a playoff AAC team if there are tons of 2 loss teams. My point about adding the teams was referencing what the AAC needs to do to get a power 6 spot. College football WANTS an 8 team playoff, and just because the current format is contracted through 2025 doesnt mean that a new system cant buyout that contract, making a power 6 possible. My point is just that if the power 5 are really looking to block out the G5, then the rest of the G5 needs to be ruthless in bringing together the best teams and cutting the worst into one conference. I think big Mike knows this.
  23. if the AAC were to offer those 3 invites in the next year or two, why would they say no? The Mountain west this year sank below cusa and mac levels. Boise and air force would join in a heart beat, as well as marshall. We just need to drop tulane. Doesnt sound like many variables to me. Sounds like Mike Aresco needs the vision and cajones to be proactive enough to add quality teams to a conference thats already gaining popularity
  24. conferences are allowing teams to schedule AAC teams, and let them count as P5. Besides, if teams really want to boost SoS, they would def schedule AAC teams over fcs or sunbelt teams. The nation now knows that we are on a different level than the sun belt, cusa, and mac. But if we snatch boise air force and marshall, we will essentially own the G5 spot in every NY6 bowl, and on chaotic years, can for sure make a playoff. College football is always changing, you should know this
