  1. Wasn't Taggart responsible for assembling the staff....Reeves, TJ Weist, Kinnan as an advisor....that lead to the GCO? Not sure there was a more perfect offense for Q & Mack to shine in, starting with the 2015 Syracuse game, anyway. Both made it to the NFL. They should be grateful for CWT as well. Speaking of Taggart's staff, that was quite the group he had assembled in 2015. Aside from the names I previously mentioned, Tom Allen was the DC here that year, which is kind of hard to believe now. A lot of talent on the field as well as on the sidelines during Taggart's tenure here. Don't forget that Skip didn't leave him much to work with. Not sure why some here seem unwilling to give the guy ANY credit. There will probably never be a better, more exciting offense here than the 2015, 2016 teams we had.
  2. He will be back if and when football/basketball starts rolling again. He probably just needs a break. I believe it was CousinRicky who said he was done with this board when somebody here posted mugshots of a new female member months ago. When the season approaches (if there is one), you'll be seeing board members who you haven't seen in awhile......maybe even CaliBull....
  3. Also 2016. We beat Temple that year, we likely would have faced a depleted Navy team in the CC.
  4. Agreed. I wish Trestman would just pick a QB (preferably Q of course) and go with him at least through the game. This offense may never get in sync if he doesn't.
  5. Q not looking as elusive as he did in his USF days. Maybe better competition? Maybe a little rust?
  6. The musical QB thing is annoying. He did the same thing last week. Not letting either QB gel with a new team.
  7. ….would probably be less stressful getting slapped around by FAU every year than by UCF
  8. I was only half paying attention when I came across your bullet points. Thought CaliBull was back.
  9. I think this is a good idea as well, but this was tried by the AAF, and they didn't last through one complete season. No matter what new ideas they come up with, it's second-rate football, and that's hard to overcome. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/07/12/aaf-will-allocate-players-by-region-to-keep-college-players-local/
  10. The arena league hung around for awhile, but these types of leagues are lucky to last 2 or 3 years, and almost always end up losing tons of money. Don't see why anyone would even try it at this point.
  11. I thought the same thing. Defenders....Guardians....Dragons....can't believe they couldn't do better than that for team names. Will be interesting to see if this league makes it to year two...
  12. IIRC, probably one of the weakest teams as well, or probably something close to it according to Taggart. I remember him being surprised at how poorly they did in the weight room...
  13. He definitely didn't do Willie any favors with what he left behind, that's for sure...
  14. Did we lose once or twice to them? Too lazy to look it up, but I thought Taggart lost to them in his first year here....
  15. I've said the same. Charlie making $5Mil.....16th most among all college football coaches this past year......is a good argument for this. Will probably never happen, but it would be cool if these contracts were heavier on incentives.
  16. Found this...Boise does the same. 10K for beating BYU, 15K for a win AT BYU. They also give 25K bonuses for wins over P5 teams. https://mwwire.com/2018/10/19/boise-state-rewards-bryan-harsin-with-a-new-contract/ Not related to us in any way, but just read that Cristobal at Oregon got 250K for every win beyond the 7th win of the season, regardless of who it was against. That's quite an incentive, but kind of a low bar for a team that's been to a National Championship not that long ago... https://247sports.com/college/iowa/LongFormArticle/College-football-coach-bonus-earned-2019-season-Ed-Orgeron-Dabo-Swinney-Ohio-State-142574694/#142574694_1
  17. I like the 10K incentive to beat UCF. Wonder if this is common in College Football for coaches to get incentive bonuses for beating rival teams in the regular season?
  18. I'll take your word for it the CWT was active in the community (I really didn't pay attention), and he put a very entertaining product on the field. I don't remember it having a huge impact on attendance. Will be interesting to see if CJS can move the needle in that regard
  19. Probably a good idea. The guy who beat him was a Basketball player for the University of Miami...
  20. Not sure, the person controlling the camera was focused on the fight about 10% of the time. Here's a far better version....
