Article says he's immediately eligible. Huh?

 

Yeah that's a head-scratcher. It says because he took a redshirt this past season, he's immediately eligible. The only thing I can think of, and I've never heard this before if it's true, is that taking a redshirt in 2013 can count as the season he has to sit out? That or the article is just misinformed.

 

Are walk-ons not subject to the sit out?  He's a walk on, so maybe he's exempt.

That also may be, it's just the article seems to suggest his redshirting in 2013 is somehow related.
