I have heard head coaches decide to keep players in the program after screwing up because they can help them more than letting them go. Many of these kids come from horrible environments and football is an out.

To play devils advocate, these kids get a nearly free education plus a few perks. But then there are plenty of hard working college students who live on the razors edge; one small mistake and its over for them. Or even kids who leave college in massive debt.  So why then do the athletes deserve second and third chances over other students?  Just something to think about.

Anyhow, still tragic what happened to Durant.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
