Big East men's basketball

As of today - 12/30/2012 - every team in the Big East has a respectable record of 8 wins or better. You cannot say that about these so called power conferences

• ACC - 1 team with only 6 wins, two teams with only 7 wins
  
• Big 10 - 1 team with a 6 - 6 record
  
• Big 12 - 1 team with 5 - 4 record, 1 team with 6 - 5 record
  
• Pac 12 - 1 team with a 4 - 8 record
  
• SEC - 1 team with 4 - 6 record, 2 teams with 5 - 7 record, 1 team with 5 - 6 record
  

This conference shuffle is driven by football and football TV dollars, and it is a shame that these conference moves have destroyed the tradition of Big East basketball. This was a conference of basketball powerhouses, and any team in the top half of the standings has a chance of winning the conference title and competing in the NCAA's. All of the teams are firing on all cylinders this season, and I predict a competitive season of Big East conference play.

I just hope USF can maintain the momentum from last years' NCAA run.

I was looking at this Friday, its nice, but a lot of this league has really dumbed down the out of conference schedules knowing they brutal 18 game stretch they're in for.

Every single year since it went to 16 it's been the best basketball league, and there's never been a better league, ever.

It was a great, historic run even if it was too short.

I don't think we have the best top teams (probably the Big 10+2 this year), but the Big East has the best teams top to bottom.
