atlbull Posted December 4, 2012 Group: Member Topic Count: 5 Content Count: 60 Reputation: 3 Days Won: 0 Joined: 12/13/2003 Share Posted December 4, 2012 I will believe it when I see it. Maybe Dungy is helping with the search. I would even say Gruden has helped by hooking DW up with candidates (placement service). However, does anyone get the feeling that DW has already talked to somebody and negotiations are already under way (more like the assistant's pool)? I get the feeling that some surprise is going to get pulled out of the hat that will make the majority of us say, "Holy crap, we got ????" (excited holy crap). I also feel it is going to be someone that was not mentioned in the media. Somebody who is unhappy in current HC position, but wants things quiet until it is announced??? The only reason that I am basing this is that he is not using a search firm (in a traditional sense), and he does not want to make the same mistake twice. I just think there are more than DW involved in the search. Of course, I could be wrong.

I do get the same feeling with Doug not using a search firm (and his decision to fire Skip likely made weeks ago), that we could get an annoucement very shortly (this week) on a new coach. Hoping that it will be a "wow, how'd we get him" moment, but thinking more along the lines that he already had a Magee or Taggart lined up.
