Leavitt had to go to, he could not get us over the hump either, just because Holtz seemed to be the wrong choice does not mean Jimbo would be the right choice. Neither is right for USF.

I'll take neither, its too bad we didnt get rid of Jim earlier and hired Charlie Strong.

Keep in mind he was a Miami fan.

lol, before I came to USF, and for my freshman year here at USF. After that I have been 100% USF. I'm sure you were a USF fan growing up though.

I would take Charlie Strong over any coach USF has ever had.

Leavitt was great and got us to the BCS, but could not get us over the top.

This program should be winning the Big East, and neither Holtz or Leavitt could get it done.

Depressing. You know it is bad when you have such a good supporter like Mike being critical. But this is what we should have seen coming. The tackling was abysmal and the defensive line was getting blown off the ball by Ball St.

I hate having to be this type of fan but it is pretty clear to me.

I will admit that I was not excited about his hire in the first place-- mostly due to being pissed off at USF for how they handled CJL. I have never taken a picture with Holtz or asked for his autograph or even spoken to him. I really have never bought into his coachspeak in general. Part of that was the CJL effect-- but honestly-- what has the guy ever done in his coaching career that gave him type of tools needed to be a BCS level coach? Being Lou Holtz son is simply not enough.

Holtz was qualified to get a BCS job, at the time he was the best USF could get. He was a solid coach in CUSA who had some big wins vs BCS schools and multiple championships. He was offered the job at Cuse but turned it down. The guy would have got a job at another BCS school if not USF.
