Even though this is tempting.....I am thinking about driving up there from FL and stopping in DC to visit an Auntie. Is the drive pretty painful up I-95? Me and the wifey drove to NC for the Muffler Bowl and it wasn't that bad coming from north FL. I figure we could use that money we save on driving (good gas milage car) to visit New York for the first time after the game. I'm worried about potential bad weather on the roads and we would take a train from Philly to New York because I heard you don't dare drive in NY ;P

Making the trip is not so bad once you get out of FL b/c you pass by a lot of towns that you could sight see and make a nice vacation. When I drove from Boston to FL, I stopped in Philly, DC, Charleston, and Savannah. Much better than taking 75 up to Michigan.

Driving in Manhattan is not too crazy. Most of the roads are in a grid system. It is just a hassle at times. Parking is hard to find or insanely expensive. And traffic getting into or out of the city can be gridlock. I always thought it would be scary crazy, but it wasn't that bad. The train is a fine idea, but don't over pay tricking yourself into thinking you can't drive in the city.

When I think of the US, I divide cities into 3 categories ..... cheap, medium, and high ..... then as a usual rule, when you combine two cheap cities, you should get good deals.

Tampa, Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale are all in the cheap category (Miami is a medium).

Here are the airports that fans might use this football season to see the Bulls:

BWI, PHL, IND, SMF, CMH, DCA, NYC (meaning a combination of the 3 main airports serving the city) are all cheap.

I would call SDF, DAY, Atlantic CIty, IAD all medium.

And I would put CVG and RNO as high (or expensive).

Not set in stone, but it gives you a good idea of what cities to look at to find the best deals. That doesn't mean that at times RNO could be cheaper than SMF, but it would be rare.

I have been to so many USF games at Cincinnati, but only once flew into CVG (great deal, when United was seeking revenge on Delta for a sale Delta had going in United hubs). I almost always fly into SDF, IND, DAY or LEX.

I'm making this trip. Its my first out of state away game and i cant wait! Im staying with a fellow Bull who now goes to Podiatry school at Temple. Im Leaving Friday afternoon after class, having my roommate drop me off at the terminal, and flying direct Tampa to Philly. Then ill just be taking the train to my buddy's apartment right next to City Hall in center city. I fly back to Tampa Sunday night.

My dad has a ton of frequent flyer miles from work and he was nice enough to help me out with this short trip up. All I had to do was pay $30 in fees for the flight, and I have a couch to crash on, so my only real expense will likely be whatever I spend at the bar Friday and Saturday nights! Haha

Just got a contract extension thru December, so I'll be driving up to Philly from DC for this one, probably Thursday or Friday.

We need to put together a Bullspen Tailgate somewhere.

BAUSFKid, what would be the options, location-wise?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”
