Meet Jim once and everyone knows that to him first and foremost is these kids completing their degrees.  His track record speaks for itself.

Amen ! CJL is a straight shooter. Direct, Professional and Humble, our boys couldn't be in better hands.

What I want to know is how Mike Williams can afford to rent out the soccer facility?  He hasnt gotten any NFL contract money as of yet, and I dont think he signed any endorsements.  I wonder what the cost is for the rental?

You don't think his agent paid for this?

WHAT, NO POSTS OVER ON THIS THREAD?  I can't believe we achieved such a high score when Leavitt's such an undisicplined (sarcasm) coot.

Best in graduation rate, worst in penalty yardage  ::)

I hope they can apply some of that scholarly acumen towards curtailing the dumb penalties. Maybe Phyllis LaBaw and Cindy Moore should come down on the field & oversee the practices...

Seriously though, it's nice to be able to tell recruits that their teammates are people who are serious about getting a college degree.

and what makes you think coaching young men isn't being in "academia"?  The lessons that He and the other coaches teach can make an astonishing impact on the lives of those kids in and out of football.

Um, probably because it's not?

Not to take anything away from Coach Leavitt, but his profession is seldom confused with academia.

Unless you attend Ohio State where they give college credits for football.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”

    Michael Kelly

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
